I’ve been to Tandoori Times a few times now and never been disappointed.
Great food, great service and great value.
Thanks guys!
Best Indian food I've had in aus. Authentic food. Delicious. Friendly and generous staff. Want to try everything on the menu.
Found them on the fork and decided to give it a try.
We ordered a few dishes to share and really enjoyed them. The highlight for me has got to he the briyani and the butter chicken. It was cooked well and the flavours were amazing.
They do have quite a good variety on the menu and i love the different variation of naans and roti’s available
Possibly my favourite restaurant out West!! Great food, great vibe, great staff, honestly nothing bad I can say about Tandoori Times, will be back again & again!! ♡
Cold winter night - and what’s better than some amazing Indian food. Lentil Lamb, split pea Dahl, coconut rice - all extremely high quality.
And enough on the menu to entice us to go back for more.
From the moment we stepped in we were greeted with friendly staff. The customer service was excellent and the food was outstanding. It has been a while since I had quality Indian food so I highly rate this place! Left with a happy and full stomach!
Very accommodating to vegans, in that most things can be cooked for us... Including garlic naan!
What makes this place is that the staff are always super friendly and treat you like family when you arrive!
Fave indian place around :)
First time tying Indian cuisine at an Indian restaurant, what can i say... it was absolutely delicious! We shared the butter chicken and the coconut rice - which was a good amount of food. I would really recommend getting naan, as it goes really well with the curry.
Food was very flavourful, service was amazing and attentive (3 tables full on a Sunday arvo), and very nice dining ambience. Bill came up to about $40 which was reasonable for such good quality Indian cuisine.
Im not one to go out for a curry but agreed tonigh & did not regret it. Food was really tasty. Service was good & reasonably priced too.
Chicken masala was my favourite & of course the garlic nann.
The food is really good , however I felt their tandooris had a tad bit more sauce than required. The place is pricey given other similar Indian places in town, but their food is good and well worth a visit. Friendly staff and nice place to sit in and dine.
A gem in Yarraville! We order Bengali fish masala curry, Kasmiri rogan josh, Punjabi butter chicken with some Basmati rice and naan bread. Everything is so good, especially the fish curry it’s become my favourite Indian dish from now on. All the staffs are star, from making a booking, coming there and dine in, I would give them 5+ star for the hospitality. It just makes me want to recommend this place to everyone. Also a great place to have a fancy Indian dinner with affordable price.
IMPRESSED!!! The waitress was so fun, bubbly and full of suggestions, she made ordering easy. We started off with the vegetarian starter platter which I thought was delicious and a great balance between vegetables, CHEESE and deep fried goods! we then moved onto the vindaloo which was full of flavor but extremely spicey. the only thing we didn't enjoy was the roti which was more like a naan bread. will definitely be returning!♡
I would recommend the Tava, it’s very good. We also ordered the tandoori chicken which was great. The onion bhajis are also very good. I would say the Nan bread was a little disappointing but this seems to be the same all over Melbourne. They are always too small and not puffed up enough wherever you go.
Great food, I've only ever had take away here but it's well worth it. Haven't ventured outside of the classic dishes but what I've had so far did not disappoint
Popped in for a curry tonight to somewhere different. The place is spacious and is kept busy doing takeaway orders. I had a booking but that didn’t seem to matter. The food was tasty and arrived very quickly. My wife ordered the beef madras and said it was very yummy. I had the mango chicken and enjoyed having that for a change over my normal butter chicken
Fabulous, two days in a row , the first day was so good just had to go back for more !!!! Loved the chicken pakora , the signature dish , the nans were so good with the coriander in them , cheers
It was worth it. Good food and very good ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed. Finally, flavors of India is here.
And the staff is so polite and helpful. Love this place so much.
It was worth it. Good food and very good ambience. Thoroughly enjoyed. Very Polite and professional staff. will definitely go back........!!
This place is amazing!! I came here for dinner.I'm really impressed with everything.
Very happy and friendly staff.
And the Indian food was unbelievably tasty.
I've never been to India but this is a great introduction to the cuisine. It's a nice touch that menu shows that the owners have a good sense of humor. The curries were just the best! And the ambiance of the restaurants is so amazing.
Amazing restaurant for Indian food they have a huge variety of delicious Indian food.
The ambience is so amazing and desi. The best is their chocolate naan you can't get over it.
The best Indian ever! The service is great and the food is delicious, it's our go to on a Friday night. The price is great for the value. Butter chicken and lamb korma are the winners.
Wow! I can say I have finally found a place with Curry to the standards of the UK.
Tasty, Yummy and full of flavour from the first bite to the last it was a pure delight to dine at this little place in the heart it Yaraville.
We started with some Popadoms and the normal things that come with them, Crispy Textural and yum we had to chase up the mango salsa but in arrival it was full of flavour and you could tell it was home made.
Next it was time for the main course we decided on a tandoori dish also had with a curry and good bread to help eat it. The tandoori time platter arrived and it was Lamb full of flavours and spice in my mouth so exciting it made my taste buds come alive, the curry came out shortly after going for a balti a classic curry from the UK topping off the Asian way with no rice and lots of bread.
The service was great and the place was fairly busy for the time we visited on a Sunday evening! I will be back that's for sure.
You always get friendly & prompt serviceat this place and the food is to die for. I got the veggie platter last night and it was a sizzling foodgasm. Paired with roti ,rice and a lassi and you simply can't go wrong
The food here really speaks for itself. Everything was delicious. Additionally, all the staff was extremely accommodating considering we had a 9:30pm reservation and they close at 10:30 (kitchen closes at 10:15). They catered to our every mouth-watering desire (namely more bread and more rice to go with the amazing curries) and even let us stay a little bit past closing to finish our meal. My favourite dishes were the Punjabi Butter Chicken and the Garlic Butter Naan. All in all Tandoori Times is a must go to place for Indian lovers.
I've never been to India (I would like to go one day) but this is a great introduction to the cuisine. It's a nice touch that menu shows that the owners have a good sense of humor. The curries were just the best!
Delicious food!!! Ordered Tandoori chicken, Chandigaari Chicken butter masala and paneer saagwala. All of them had great taste and richness. Very friendly staff. Would be back for sure. :)
Went last night for dinner and the customer service was fantastic. When taking our order my friend forgot to mention that she was vegan and when her meal arrived at the table the server apologised for not double checking her dietary requirements and even though my friend was more than happy to eat the meal, they insisted on making it again at no extra charge - not many restaurants would do that!
Chilli bombs, Bhayankar bakra (paneer in my case!) and tandoori mushrooms !! Few things I would definitely go back for.. lovely Indian restaurant located in one of my favourite suburbs in Melbourne..
Went for an early dinner on a Saturday, very welcoming place. We initially ordered 3 dishes but the guy who took our order (looked like the manager) informed us that we probably have ordered too many heavy dishes so we cut down to just the butter chicken and kofta dish. He was very nice and helpful. The mango lassi was sweet and yoghurty as expected. Boyfriend loved the butter chicken, the kofta dish was something different and nice too. I've had better garlic naan before though. Overall, great dining experience will be back to try more on the menu :)
Consistently great food, although their seems to be some variation between what is vegan between their in store and online menus which is slightly disturbing. When getting a pick up we were given the wrong meal and only realised this after getting home (rookie mistake, should've checked there) but they were very apologetic and delivered us the right food with no fuss.
After a craving for curry, Aangan unfortunately (not unexpectedly) didn't have any free Friday night bookings. Tandoori Times seemed relatively well rated and so ended up the opportunity to explore Yarraville a little more than just Monday night cheap-movie night. The menu is quite extensive. I tried to avoid any dish that advertised a sauce that could be eaten with any meat/seafood/vegetable combination and focus on specific things.
Just reading your interesting menu can make anyone drool! The funny description of the dishes wants one to read the entire menu just for a laugh (or two!). This would actually help, as customers wont mind waiting just a wee bit longer for their food to arrive.
And then, food, family and laughter are the perfect combination, right? :)
Next time I will write about the food, but until then...chak de fattey! Keep rocking!
Depth ! Pride in what they do and you can taste it.. No for those that like the Indian in a jar you buy at the shops cheap.. This place is the real taste
This is definitely a favorite in Yarraville Village. Authentic Indian food that is really flavoursome. They have an extensive menu so you're really spoilt for choice. You should try their banquet which offers a range of beautiful dishes.
The service is great with fantastic staff and management. You always feel welcome and well looked after.
Highly recommend this fantastic place.
This is my first ever Zomato review as I really felt the need to applaud this restaurant.
Not only was the service on point; friendly, attentive and welcoming, the food was also delicious!!!
We had the banquet for 2 - reasonably priced and includes all the favourites - enough to give you a taste of everything. Portion size was great too!
My favourite dish was the Punjabi Butter Chicken - not watered down and bland like many others I have tried in recent times. This one was full of flavour! (Garlic Naan was also worthy of mention!)
Thank you for a lovely dinner - we will be back! :)
This place is amazing!! My wife and I came here for an anniversary dinner. We were really impressed with everything.
Very happy and friendly staff.
And the food.....well......the food was unbelievably tasty. (We had the Shahi banquet)
A big thumbs up to Tandoori Times.
As we roll out of your restaurant I promise that you will definitely see us again.
Walked in cold and we found a gem in Yarraville.
Could not fault the quality and presentation of the food and the service was friendly and efficient. Plenty to choose from with an extensive menu. The ambience was casual and comfortable. Just the thing for dinner after a movie at the Sun.
Great food and service.. really enjoyed authentic north Indian food after a long time!
Tried the delicious Pan kulfi.. Highly recommended 👍
Brilliant food... If you are after authentic taste then this is the place. Recommend you try tandoori chicken with a nice Gallic naan. Great combo!!!
Always great food , I love the nans and the chicken tikka masala curry. Would definitely recommend . The guy at the counter is very friendly and funny always make you feel so welcome .
If you really want to enjoy a nice Indian meal, this is the restaurant to come! We have been there many times and have never been disappointed with the food. The customer service is excellent and food is exceptional. The naans is one of the best I have had and the amritsari fish was tasty!
Dinner on Saturday night was great. We had the Desi banquet which included a fine selection of different flavours. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Himanshu (Manager) looked after after very well. Yummy food, extra ordinary service and very good music.
Best venue to have meetings, easily accessible by public transport aswell
Excellent service, and delicious take away. All the curries we had tonight were aromatic and filled with flavor. Breads were excellent too. Only criticism, the meat in all curries was a fraction dry and chewy. Definitely recommend, perhaps stick with the vego options. Great job TT.
Great local Indian restaurant. Good service and great for vegetarians, lots to choose from! They do takeaway, handy as they are close to the train station.
Finally I've found it! The answer to decent, inspired Indian food in Yarraville! Not being a local to the area, finding the best spots to eat can at times be tricky - however the simplistic charm and warm environment of Tandoori times captured me!
I tried the Chilli chicken which was offer and it did not disappoint! Enough to ignite the spicy limits in this white-boy while being super rich in flavour - all at a very reasonable cost I do add. That served up with a cold frothie & I will be back soon!
I live around the corner from this place and it is by far the best restaurant in Yarraville. The food is always delicious. The naan is amazing as are the biryani. The saag paneer is my favourite. The service is wonderful. Strongly recommended :)
First time @ Tandoori Times. Excellent food (the specials were incredible), super friendly service and the vibe of the place is nice and relaxed. Easy to get to / park and it came in under $60 for the 2 of us (including drinks). Strongly recommended.
Brought my parents and the inlaws-to-be here on a Friday night.Polite and friendly staff and owner. Fantastic food.
Would recommend.
This is the best Indian food I have had in Melbourne. No matter how many different places I try, this is always a favourite. Regardless of what you get, it's delicious. And the service is fantastic too!
What can I say Tandoori Times is the best Indian restaurant that I've ever been to. The food is world class as well is the customer service. I would rate it 10/10 this is one restaurant that I will be back again & again.
great place for awesome indian food. Lots to choose from, super hospitality. Best butter chicken i have ever had. Good value for money. Great atmosphere with indian music playing in the background. Will visit frequently.
Great customer service plus fresh and delicious food I will come again for Pan Qulfi thanks for your great hospitality and see you soon Tandoori Times
Fantastic authentic Indian food. Aseem and his crew go the extra mile to look after customers. Great value for money. Must do before a movie at Sun theatre
Great place for a quick and hearty feed. Lovely down-to-earth service, quirky menu and affordable and delicious food. You can't really go wrong with Indian cuisine; I personally find that anything drowned in curry will taste delicious. Can't go wrong with the lamb vindaloo, rogan josh and pumpkin lakhnawi. The spiciness level of most dishes are generally mild but you can get them to tweak it for you if you want. But do beware as with Indian food, although dishes may not taste spicy on your first bite, the chilli hit will come for you after a few minutes of inactivity. And don't underestimate the serving size; curries are very filling and when paired with a freshly baked naan bread, you will be bursting at the seams at the end of the meal.
Whe came to Tandoori Times after reading all the reviews good and bad and decided to give it a try after a movie at sunshine. We had never tried Indian before and were interested in trying something different. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food we had was delicious. We had butter chicken and chilli prawns with rice and roti bread. The chilli prawns were very hot and spicy and awesome. We are definitely fans and will be coming again. Thank you for a lovely meal.
(Here's your thumbs up :D)
Delicious food and fantastic service! I had the mushroom mutter and my husband the chicken korma, would definitely recommend! Very good value for money.
The smell coming from this place tantalizes me on my walk home from work every day. A really nice meal with as many free poppadoms as we could eat. We got a range of dishes and they were all very nice. The service was very attentive. It was a bit smokey inside (because of the tandoor I assume) and so my clothes smelt like smoke afterwards! Overall a good experience :)
Great banquet deals. Yummy indian, personal favourites are the lamb saag, chicken tikka masala and vindaloo. Can add extra heat if you ask! Staff are friendly and service is quick. Often stop in before taking in a movie at the Sun.

Absolutely the best imaginable Indian dining experience in Melbourne, and the staff are as friendly and modest as the menu prices. Many happy times enjoyed there with friends and family, and in amicable solitude, too.
I think the food is better than what you would get in Little India in Singapore, the gravy is clearly hand done and the Chef is very forthcoming about altering certain dishes to make them more or less spicy (this is not always a given but a very appreciated act) in my experience you dont find goat in many restaurants in Melbourne despite being a staple in India, yet theres a few very tasty goat dishes and adequately spicy too. Highly recommend this restaurant.
By far my favourite Indian restuarant. Amazing food, stellar service, great quality. A favourite spot to eat before seeing a movie, or to grab as takeaway. Highly recommended
Dinner was amazing, we absolutely loved the food at Tandoori Times. We got the tandoori platter and Lucknow Lamb Lentil curry - so flavoursome and the portions were very generous. Well priced, great service, great food.
We'll be back!!
A great Yarraville local with delicious traditional dishes and lots of options for vegetarians. (It's my vego friends favourite restaurant).
Exceptional food, exceptional service. Amazing flavours, really fresh and genuinely spicy. Delicious, will definitely be coming back here again.
Some of the best Indian I've ever had. Friendly and reasonably priced. I had a one with cottage cheese and spinach and it was amazing. My partner had the beef vindaloo and it was sensational!
This is one of my favourite Indian places. The food here is delicious and generous. The menu is accommodating for different dietary needs and it is cleverly written.
Plus the staff there are wonderful.
Only went here for the first time the other night. It was nice and the staff were really friendly and very accommodating to our dietary requirements. Our food came out quickly, we had a vegetable curry and a custom mushroom curry, both were delicious. The naan bread was also amazing! We will definitely be coming back! :)
Came here for dinner last night with my dad to kill some serious indian curry cravings. I thought I knew a good curry, but since coming here my expectations has risen to the next level! I had the aloo gabhi (meaning potato and cauliflower: did some serious research into this wonderful dish after eating it!) with a side of saffron rice. Incredibly reasonable pricing and extremely welcoming staff making sure you're completely comfortable. Over all it was a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be coming here for all my further curry cravings! Couldn't give this place a fault ☺️🙌
Amazing!!!!! Best Indian in Melbourne by far!!!! me and my partner came in while walking around looking for something to eat in Yarraville and have been back almost every week since. The food is amazing! plenty of Vegetarian options for myself and plenty of Meat for my partner. The bread is delicious and authentic and every item my partner or myself have ordered has never dissapointed. Defiantly our favourite and the price is excellent value. Hands down would recommend this place above any other!!! If you like some extra spice like myself, do yourself a favour and order the special chili condiment. Soooooo good! Five star and the staff are wonderful!! dont change a thing Tandoori Times!!! keep it up and see you again vary soon!!!!!!!
Awesome, love every-time we visit Tandoori Times.. My sincere thanks to chef and the staff for making our evening a great evening. Food is amazing, nicely $ priced. All the best and see you guys soon.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne...i love Indian food and keep on trying different Indian restaurants but no one could beat Tandoori times Yarraville.
Quality food,Top notch customer service and friendly staff all under one roof.
We have been going to this place for almost 6 years and have never been let down by the staff. Indian being my family's favorite cuisine am quite picky about the restaurants that get our repeat business and this one generally gets selected almost every 2-3 weeks. Great job guys - keep up the good work. I was there yesterday and was particularly impressed by the dessert platter that the team made specially for our family.
Nicest and friendliest people you would ever wish to meet and great food. They make a real effort to suit dietary requirements and do it will a smile. It really is Curry with Good Karma!
Great food and great service. Himanshu is always a pleasure to deal with, food is delivered fast and rivals what my own Nani could make. Highly recommend the Saag with Lamb or the Chandigaarhi Chicken Tikka Butter Masala! Yum
Tandoori times hosted my 30th birthday over the weekend. Aseem and his team did a fantastic job on the night. As always is the case here, the food was amazing! We had a number of entrees and mains served on the night, my favourite being the Chicken Tikka (Entree) and the Lamb Rogan Josh (Main).
The service was fantastic, with Aseem and the team accommodating everything on the night, making it a stress free and enjoyable experience for all.
Thanks again to the Tandoori Times team for making it an unbelievable night for me, my family and friends.
If you are looking for place to hold a function or somewhere to eat some fantastic indian food, you cannot go past Tandoori Times in Yarraville.
My girlfriend and I frequently visit Tandoori Times and have so for about two years now!
The food never disappoints and the waiters are always willing to help out with dietary requirements. Best Indian restaurant going around! Can't go past the Aloo Palak
Always just returned for our second visit and after such a great meal the first time we were hoping we wouldn't be let down this time. We definitely weren't. The food is fantastic, full of flavour! Staff are great and really attentive. My wife is Vegan and they were more then accommodating happy to alter whatever meal we wanted to make it vegan. Will be back again and again!!
Wonderful service and friendly staff! and incredibly delicious food at a perfectly affordable price! Couldn't get any better! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
We placed our first online delivery order through Zomato tonight. Logistically, the process was pretty easy and seam free. More importantly, the food was good. For an easy Tuesday night dinner the butter chicken with rice and side of naan went down a treat. The butter chicken had a nice smokey flavour and we wished we'd ordered more. The delivery guy was really friendly and managed to find our apartment which other places tend to struggle with.
Amazing food! Had best Indian after ages. Amazing service and tastes are authentic
The staff was very caring I requested the meal to be vegan and that was no problem. chilli dhania goat was superb !
Delicious! Great tasty food. Had the best goat curry. Floor staff is really friendly, don't miss out Himanshu's(friendly wiater) recommendations. We were looked after very well. Surely will be back.
Had a lovely night, the food was delicious and we took advice from our waiter as to extra entrees and another main food. Price very reasonable and service great.
Our go-to Indian food fix and an added bonus that it's local! Entertaining menu and super tasty food, can't go wrong with any of the tandoori options and the portion sizes on all the mains are more than generous...the best naan breads in Melbourne! Can't wait to go back...
Yummy! Food was good, service was good. Waiter recommended dishes that would be interesting. Decor good, generally good.
Yum!. The best Indian in Melbourne! So quick and delicious!
Very pleased!. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Staff were exceptional and understanding. Would recommend.
Trying more local restaurants as I am new to the area - Indian cuisine today. It was easy to get a table on a Friday night. Nice food and will be back.

Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne!!
Been here few times and never had 4 star experience.
Food is usually great, tonight it was phenomenal. Is there a different chef on Tuesday nights?
Always get the lamb saag, almost everything else is great. Madras is fantastic too.
Hands down best in the West, and possibly the southern hemisphere???
The food was excellent, the sauces were the best part.
Naan was probably the only part that wasn’t up to scratch - taste wise.
What really let the experience down though was the service, we had to repeat ourselves a few times to actually receive our food/drinks.
Staff were genuinely friendly. It’s not often you get patient staff accomodating a large group of 14. Food was very authentic and not lacking in flavour. Perfect place to go to for date night, with friends or with family. Will definitely be coming back.
My husband and I absolutely love Indian food. The moment we walked through the door Rashi welcomed us with her warm, bubbly and sunny personality. She was born to work in hospitality. Not only is the food deliciously goooood but the service is genuine & friendly. Highly recommend. This is definitely our favourite!! See you next week. Mel and Damo 😘
