Would rate 3.5 given the option. Wasn’t bad by any means but nothing super special. The dips and bread were delicious as were the olives, but the chicken skewers were a bit dry and tasteless. Service was friendly and there decor was nice as well. Would come back for drinks and a nibble but probably not a full meal.
I love this place! It's very warm and welcoming. The staff know their wine and the tapas plates are very generous. I'm new to the area and I'm so glad I came in. Highly recommend!
Cool place for quick food. The service is friendly and the place has good ambience. Saganaki is a must. Sitting outside is great for people watching.
Yummm! Best tapas in Yarraville. Lovely staff, great atmosphere. About the only criticism (if there has to be one) is that the stools are pretty heavy and hard to manoeuvre into and out of the high bar tables. Minor grizzle. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this place. We pop in an hour or so before our movie at The Sun Theatre which sits right opposite. The service is fast and the food always great. Try the calamari and open beef souvlaki - superb . They also serve the best NZ Sav blanc I've ever tasted but can never remember the name. In a word - fabulous!
Great selection of drinks - I love a good lick pier from here.
Food menu is really good- yummy tapas and I've had almost the whole menu over various visits. Cosy quiet seating that's great after a visit to the movies at the sun theatre or great for a lunch or dinner. Great fuss free customer service and quick to receive food after ordering.
I'll return here regularity for yummy eats and good selections of brew and wines 👍🏻

Great little place to come and eat before watching a movie at the sun, coffee is nice and strong here too, It would be great if they allowed you to take their food into the sun instead of eating the usual popcorn and the like
We ate, chilled and drank here on Friday night. This place is in an amazing spot in the heart of Yarraville Village! I really enjoyed their beers on tap, tapas and friendly service. Overall 7/10. 😆
Tapas style food, pretty good. Good selection of beers and wines. Atmosphere is also quite nice, can get quite loud inside between music and groups of people. Service usually prompt and friendly.
Great place for some tapas on the weekend. Highly recommend the croquettes, satay sticks, potato bravas, gyoza and pizza. The only thing wrong with this place is they purchase large bottles of coke and instead of tossing lasts night bottles out they use it in your mixed drinks.....flat as a pancake! If you are going to use large bottles of coke which cost next to nothing then start with fresh bottles the next day. Service is friendly, and tables outside good except in arvo sun is streaming down on you as no awnings. Give it a try...
Located right in front of the Sun Theatre cinema and one door separation from The Cornershop, the Yarra Lounge is a convenient bar-cafe to have a drink and a light meal in a no-fuss place.
Some of their tapas were really tasty and they make an effort to plate the food nicely.
The cauliflower and cheese croquettes were a winner with me, crunchy outside, creamy inside the flavours coming distinctively to my mouth, and the home-made mayo was lovely. The spicy eggplant chips were really crunchy, not oily at all, and great to dip in the sauce; I loved the sprinkle of chilly flakes. The lamb cutlet looked more like a mini lamb chop, it was OK, the Moroccan spices were a bit overwhelming and I thought the chilly sauce was not necessary on the place as there were enough spices on the meat and the salad was also seasoned.
Coffee is strong, not bad, but not as good in flavour or preparation as other coffees in the area.
During the day the place lacks a bit of character but I think that it suits the night scene. It had very few customers when most of the nearby places were packed to the rafters. I think it is worth a visit.
Service was well-timed.
The guys working there were matter of fact, and lacked warmth and enthusiasm, and although that is excusable when a place is full, it is not when the place is almost empty.
I found the dishes a bit expensive for what they are. 11 bucks for a board of fried eggplant is a bit no-no no matter how much I liked it.
Tasty morsels all round but definitely go for the eggplant chips, crispy outside and creamy inside without being overly oily. Plenty of drinks to choose from too. Minimal ambiance shall we say but not too pricey either which helps.
The Yarra Lounge is always great for a casual bite to eat. It's noisy and often a bit chaotic, but staff always friendly and accomodating. The pita pizzas aren't going to win any awards but they're tasty and satisfying. The homemade hummus is delicious and staff happy to provide more warmed pita bread if there's not enough to finish off the dip. Share dishes are delicious: calamari and Koftas are stand outs. Good wine list, and all reasonably priced.
Nice place to chill out before a movie. Decent wine and beer list and the food is not too shabby either.
Boozy Sunday Sesh. Three of us ate at the Yarra Lounge on Sunday evening. Its a great place to sit and enjoy a boozy meal. There was plenty of good beers to choose from while we randomly pointed at the menu and ordered food. Some Dirty Martini's and Saganaki rounded of the meal perfectly. Big thanks to the friendly staff who were more than accommodating to three slurring patrons who clumsily paid, waved and trotted out the door. See you again soon.
This low key bar and tapas place is perfect for Friday night drinks or lazy Sunday arvos. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the tapas is fast, inexpensive and delicious. Stand outs are the saganaki and the meatballs while the wine and beer selection is decent. Sweet vibe thanks to the 'local' feel and we love popping our heads in the door.
Great find thanks to Ent Guide... Great tapas & pizza & so many beers to choose from its silly!!
Love the staff food and atmosphere. Wouldn't go any where else!
I have been here for dinner several times and it does not disappoint.
Food service is quick and the tapas are amazing.
My only criticism tonight was that there was a cold draught. We sat at the table opposite the ladies toilet.
Other reviewers who write of surly service are making reference to the females who work here. The male who works behind the bar ( he's been there for years) is always smiling!
Food, staff, atmosphere: wonderful!. Every time I have been to Yarra Lounge it has been wonderful!
All the food I have tried has been amazing; patatas bravas, fried cauliflower, meatballs, gyoza, potato pizza. All delicious.
The staff have always been lovely and welcoming, I have never had to wait long for food or service of any kind.
I will keep coming back!
Great Tapas and Drinks. Great place to chill before going to see a movie at The Sun. Lots on the menu to choose from and funky decor.
Cosy atmosphere, tasty tapas. Love this little place! Always fun to come to and try the different tapas on offer. I could eat the saganyaki with fig all day long, and the gyozas (which I would never ordinarily order from a non-Asian restaurant) are awesome! Service isn't over the top but efficient and friendly.
What a gorgeous little place, yummy food and drinks. Friendly atmosphere. Love it!!
Service was good, food was good and came out within seconds of ordering!
Wonderful. Beautiful staff that are so lovely to every customer always working hard to keep everyone happy even though it was busy! Amazing selection of beers! Highly recommend to all!
My favourite little place to catch with friends. Foods pretty good. Great selection of drinks and cosy however not a big fan of the rude woman behind the bar, it seems as if our business is too much of a chore for her.
Drinks are yummy. Lil pricey though. The tapas were gorgeous and a great Lil place for Lil hang out with friends or quick bite before the movies.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Great location right across from the Sun Theatre. Found this place through an internet search for great tapas. Not the kind of place I'd ever walk in to off the street but it does not disappoint. I can understand how some people may find the staff to be a bit abrupt, but all in all, the food came out quickly and was absolutely devine. Great portion sizes and we didn't leave hungry like most other tapas places.
Awesome place and the food is just great. We come here often and went through the menu several times. The waitresses though could take one or more smiling classes as life is really not that bad overall.
Delicious and Welcoming!. If you want great food, great service and a good atmosphere in the West then the Yarralounge is the place to go.
I have been reading the other reviews and must say I am very surprised that the staff have been labled as "unfriendly and brusque"! I have been a regular at the Yarralounge for sometime and the reason I go back is due to the friendliness of the staff (not to mention the outstanding food) - I always feel at home there and have always been treated with the best service.
The food is fantastic and for the price it is an outstanding quality - not to mention the great selection of micro brewery beers which is unheard of for a business of this size.
All in all, it is a fantastic place to go and relax with a few wines and some tapas with great service!
Afternoons in the sun. Go to the Yarra Lounge in the afternoon, sit on the footpath and eat Tapas, need I say more? Nice selection of Aussie/Victorian beers too by the way.
The male waiter on Friday night (20th) should be awarded for his customer service, or give a pay rise to keep him being the soul of your business. Food and drink amazing x
I don't want to leave a great review because we want to always be able to get a seat when we come back, we have struggled to find a romantic/ casual place with good food, good seating and great service. For us, it was a spare of the moment decision to eat out on a Saturday night and the customer service was phenomenal... Whilst three is online ordering (which some may not like) the waiter/waitresses spoiled us and had impeccable table service and conversation. Great ambience with just the right level of music in background, we were not squished in and could enjoy our conversation. TAPAS was amazing, highly recommend the croquettes. Fabulous spot!
Great food, service was good, friendly staff definitely will be coming back.
The blonde person guy that served me was super friendly and gave me good recommendations of food overall good experience!!!
So happy to have stumbled upon this quaint tapas bar! From the food to the atmosphere everything was divine. The grilled calamari was fave!
Perfect place to catch up with a friend, chat for hours and enjoy a few tapas and drinks.
Great food, great drinks and some freakishly attractive staff. Couldn't ask for more.
Great spot. Love the decor, food, drinks, customer service. Can't fault it. It's a great place to go for an evening out
