Review Cafe Vieux - Yass

James Dawson
The whole experience was amazing. I found Vieux Group on the Visit NSW website which mentioned that the cafe is situated in a historic manor house. A family lives there and they operate the cafe. But it is more like a fairytale castle than a house. We had lunch under the pergola in the rose garden. The food is classic country cooking without pretension. The kangaroo steak and salmon fillet were both perfect. The Maitre D' was friendly and funny and we even played with the family dog, a sweet border collie. The menu says that all profits go to restoring the house and gardens. I was surprised at first at such generosity but having spent an hour there it is exactly what I would expect from such lovely people.

Beautiful place and amazing experience!! The food is wonderful, staff is great, and the service is superb - we were even walked to our car after lunch by the incredible Chester. Will definitely be returning to try the pie!

Wonderful service. Finding exactly which door was the entry proved to be a bit tricky but once inside the decor was lovely. We were the first diners for the day and had to wait for a few minutes before staff arrived which was fine as it gave us time to enjoy a wander around the restaurant and admire the little touches. A nice menu with meals and sweet treats. We chose the home made pie and the pasta carbonara - both very tasty. The chef came to check how we liked our meals and the young man that looked after us couldn't have been more helpful. A very nice experience which will be even better when you can enter through the front door.

Tables pre booked for 60+ of us for brunch, plenty of notice, 1 person cooking food over 1.5hrs from ordering to arrive, coffee the same 40mins to come out. When food did arrive it was cold though flavour was there toast was almost a paste as it went soggy from poached eggs Benedict. Sauce was very tasty though cold. They knew we were coming why was only one person cooking others were only getting their orders as some of us had to leave for travel commitments very poor service

The food and wine was fantastic and the host Aidan is very passionate about saving Linton Manor through the restaurant and b&b. We wish him all the luck he needs and we can't wait until our next visit. If you are near Yass please give it a go. Worth the effort 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Outstanding customer service, friendly and warm. Delicious scons and coffee. On the outside area you get an amazing view to the mountains while on the inside it provides with a very cozy atmosphere.

We arranged to meet our son here for lunch. The environment is redolent with the character of an earlier age. We were just surprised that only the four of us were there for what was an excellently prepared and presented lunch.
