Review Arnguli Grill & Restaurant - Yulara

What to say about Arnguli except it is exceptional dining, head-and-shoulders the best establishment in the resort. The maitre-D made us feel exceptionally welcome even though our booking had been lost, we were offered a comfortable table near the kitchen and everything unfolded like a dream. Between the three of us we shared two exquisite starters - duck and lamb - and followed by sharing the pinnacle 1kg Angus Black Eye with sides from the grill. Tempted for dessert, even among the three of us we never made it that far. Almost worth visiting the resort just for this restaurant!

Great atmosphere with garden and swimming pool view. Inspired by the indigenous and local food materials. Foods are well presented and staff are friendly.

Average food quality. We tried the pork chop as well as the lamb chops. Both had their cooking a bit off and lacked taste. But not much other options around so it is still manageable.

We had an outstanding meal at Arnguli on our last night at Yulara. The signature Chateaubriand was cooked perfectly and enjoyed by all at the table. Given our large group size we sampled a large range of menu items, everything was lovely. We all commented that we wished we had eaten there more than once. The kids meals were devoured by the children and well above average. The orders for the kids meals were taken right away so the children ate quickly and didn’t get fussy. The service was excellent and we didn’t seem to wait for anything. Given it’s remote location we found this restaurant to be great value for the quality of food provided. I hope one day to return.

The fillet was good but the sauce is what added the flavor. Staff were friendly but service/speed was about average for Australia.

This was the best dinning experience we had at Yulara. Thank you to ROBERT, our wonderful waiter from Cornwall. My family and I were disappointed with the standard of food and service so far at Yulara till we came to Arnguli Grill & Restaurant. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing and of the standard we expected when paying $46+ for a main - keep in mind this is the price of most things in Yulara with the exception of the bar food -. I had the Ocean Trout and it was honestly the best meal I have eaten all year.

This place is amazing. Quiet, comfortable, almost romantic dining room. Friendly and knowledgeable staff explained complex components of the menu and gave pairing suggestions. The prices reflect the quality of food and service you receive, and the experience more than justifies the price. Do yourself a favour and finish your meal with the desert plum parfait. Thank me later 😉

We visited Arnguli twice as we have a lovely dining experience the first time. On our second visit there, we had the same waitress, her name was something along the lines of Hinomi, and on that occasion she was not particularly friendly or cordial. On our first visit, she checked in on us a few times, asked how the food was, asked about our time in Yulara. On the second visit, she did not greet us when she came to our table, she immediately asked us if we were ready to order. We felt a bit put off by that, she had obviously recognized us as we were only there two days prior. During our dining experience, she only came around once to ask how the food was. My partner ordered the filet and requested it to be medium rare, it was medium well. He had told her it was medium well, but it was ok. She asked if he wanted it taken back to cooked more, we said no...It was too cooked.... She didn't quite understand, but she apologized for it. When she handed us the check, we paid in cash and she came over and opened up the booklet and counted each bill and coin in front of us... I personally felt that was over the top and rude. We've never had wait staff count out each bill in front of us, we felt as if she did not trust that we would pay the correct amount. We paid by debit card last time and there was no issue. Anytime we've paid in cash, the wait staff always ask if it was ok to take it or if we needed change from it. It was off-putting. The thank you dessert at the end of the meal was also terrible. The previous night, it was lovely, but on the second visit, you could tell it was leftover from the night before, it certainly wasn't fresh. You would expect paying that much money to dine there, the dessert would be fresh. We certainly won't be going back.
