Review Mangata Bistro & Bar - Yulara

We were staying at the hotel and came here for breakfast first morning. It was pretty good but expensive at $42 each. Yet fairly standard for hotels and the remote location means it’s going to be pricy as everything is flown in. Lots of other options for breakfast in the town square you will find once you are here awhile. We went back to dinner the last night and was fabulous. Kangaroo entree, ribs main, wine and cocktails. The staff are super friendly and extra points for the local dessert!

We had a quick bite to eat at Mangato Bistro and Bar before heading out to Field of lights. Frank the waiter was polite, friendly and professional. Beautiful bar and bistro with an intimate feeling. Food service was also quick and the coconut and chill prawns were delicious.

Massive shout out to the entire team at Managata thank you so much for your impeccable service and smiles.. Also a massive thank you to Emily for going out of her way to organise my mum and 80th birthday surprise.. Very much appreciated. Regards Rhoul Pendergast.

We liked most of the dishes we ordered. Pork ribs were tender; beef brisket was succulent and juicy, chicken wings were sweet and sticky. The exception was the assorted vegetables, which were tasteless and very ordinary. We were expecting prices to be exorbitant, but for some reason it was just the price of the burger that was unreal and we found the rest quite acceptable.

We visited for dinner while staying at Sails in the Desert. They don't take reservations and when we visited there was approximately a 20 minute wait for a table. However, you can get a drink from the bar while you are waiting for your table. I visited in a group with 4 adults and 3 kids and they had a choice of kids meals and variety of mains for adults. The food was prompt and the service friendly. There was a power outage in the resort while we were dining and the staff were helpful and even provided extra nibbles while we waited.

The quality of the food is average, but two downsides are the high prices and the waiting times. The high prices may be justified by the remote location, although other restaurants in the resort are cheaper. The waiting times are terrible! After ordering, we once waited for almost one hour and the second time for almost 1.5 hours until we got the food. I've hardly ever waited for so long.

Hope Island, Australia 15934 Reviewed 20 June 2018 Great setting, and quiet, but service could be better Three of us had lunch here and went with the Charcuterie board and some wings for lunch and although the meats were excellent, the cheese and ham chunks (yes chunks) were a bit average, and could do with more semi dried tomatoes. The wings were quite good, with a couple of options of dipping sauce available. The service was a bit to be desired with a lengthy time between seating and taking a drinks order or offering for some water even. The value for money wasn't too bad when you take into account we had an Accor discount card so wiht this it made the lunch a lot better to take than without it. Limited options in Yulara but not well presented food, and of reasonable quality so given the location you expect to pay more, so the service should be better given it was quiet.

Delicious meals and cocktails with indigenous ingredients. Excellent and knowledgeable staff.

Look it’s a closed market they don’t have to compete really. The food is good but could include more selections. The ambience is lovely and the waitresses and kitchen are fast. The big problem every time we went there was the maître de was so slow. You stand waiting whilst they seat one group at a time and then 10min later come back to do the next. No shortage of tables just a bizarre process of seating, menus, taking payment from guests etc.<br/>Someone needs to organise it far better than this. Organisation clearly not a strong point. Lucky the kitchen is fast!

Very friendly staff and great environment! Make sure to book in advance, because they can be quite busy. The menu has some very good options, especially if you want to try Aboriginal flavors.
