Thank you Killiney team! Merry Christmas! I always enjoy each of your laksas and rendangs, they make me so happy. Thanks for getting me through the bad days this year.
Dropped in for a quick snack of black carrot cake, a Singaporean favourite. It's a delicious filling meal that costs only around a tenner. I paired it with a plate of spring rolls and samosas. They were disappointing small but suited the dish well. Unlike other Killiney locations I've been to, this one has breakfast AND happy hour specials including $1 "Western style" coffee. It's definitely not the best eatery in the area, but it's cheap and consistent AND sells rice cake, making it a winner in my books.
I come here often just for the ambience and good customer service.
Food wise, it’s not too bad. Reasonably priced as well.
Good hangout spot for a chit chat.
I’m so happy with the service and staff. The food let say not too big portion compare with the price. They have Halal food here. Place is suitable for kids since they provide some inside toys for play while their parent having a meal in the Restaurant. What makes me more happy that they have Durian Pancakes!!!
Price is moderate compare with meal size $$
I like satays and you can order 5 or 10 skewers here. Since it’s just for lunch, I ordered 5 skewers with rice. The waiter asked if I wanted rice cake or a bowl of rice. Since both options are the same price, I tried the rice cake. It didn’t look like much on my plate but I was full by the end of it. It was tasty and fun to eat.
Always a pleasure to drop by for lunch, my weakness is the soft shell crab laksa, love the quick service and friendly amotsphere. Will be back more and more everyday ::))
Casual and friendly place. Char Kway teo is very authentic as is nasi lemak chicken curry and rendang are very good too. Service is pleasant and efficient. A great place to drop in and have a quick bite.
experienced one of the most delicious singapore chili mud crab 🦀 , highly recommended and here's the instagram you could take a look for Killiney Kopitiam Victoria Street p.s. I will be back ✌🏻
Having been to several malaysia restaurant, i can finally said i have found one the best truly nasi lemak. The rendang beef is juicy, also carrot cake, singapore noodle is too die for, service is fast and friendly. Large spacious restaurant. Highly recommended.
Food is very homely. Great laksa and Hainanese chicken rice. The Singaporean crab is also very nice.
Friendly service, good atmosphere totally recommended
Great food. Especially like the soft shelled crabs. The fish and pipi lacked a bit of flavor. The Singapore coffee/drinks a little weak. However all very reasonably priced. Would come again.
Killiney Kopitiam offers one of the iconic tastes of Singapore local dishes. While not as good as the actual ones in SG, it’s good enough for Singaporeans wanting to find home style food in Melbourne. The nasi lemak is not too bad. Ikan bilis was crunchy, fried chicken was nice and slightly juicy. The fish was ok though. Egg was well cooked. The steam chicken was a tad dry but still good. The kaya and French toast is where the expectation drops. They really pale in comparison to the SG version, considering these are the signature dish of Killiney. Needs to have better quality control for them. Otherwise the place is nice cozy, service staff is as polite and patient. Just a side note, while Melbourne is known for its very high price eating out, the prices for the food here is twice that of in SG for the same dishes.
This branch of Killiney Kopitiam is located in Richmond, which is mainly helmed by a large number of Vietnamese eateries. I would say that if you want some quiet time in an eatery, which serves pretty good food at affordable prices, this is the place to go.
I ordered a French toast, kaya toast, a rice noodle soup with hainanese chicken (basically it’s boiled white chicken), and a nasi lemak. Service was pretty prompt, and the service staff is polite and very attentive (she brought me a cup of hot water when I was coughing).
Food taste was good. I would definitely come back to have the rice noodle soup with hainanese chicken again, the chilli served with it was divine. I would find the kaya toast too sweet for me (I don’t really like sweet stuff), and the French toast was rather tasteless (you would definitely need to spread a lot of kaya spread on it to have a taste). The nasi lemak was pretty delicious, with a crispy and succulent drumstick. The fish was well fried, you can literally eat up the fried portions.
I am intrigued by the chilli crab and the pipeh on the menu, and would look forward to trying them out when I next visit.
The food is very much affordable compared to the usual price range of the food in Melbourne. I would definitely be back again!
Excellent food options. All the ticks on my checklist: Affordable, delicious, tidy venue and amazing staff!
Decent casual eating, great prices. Will definitely come back
Really good. One of the best nasi lemak I've ever had. Very friendly people. $8 for a yummy meal and great coffee bargain! I love visiting Singapore and this place made me feel like I was there again for a moment. Thank you.
