I organised to hire the upstairs venue space of the Howling Owl for a launch night on behalf of an NGO that I work with and Rachel, Mick and the rest of the staff were amazing to work with. They were so supportive and the upstairs space was beautiful and sophisticated to host in, I can't recommend it highly enough!
Recently had my birthday party there and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and Venue. Everyone commented on how good the place was. The staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure all the guests were looked after.
I would absolutely recommend anyone thinking of having a function to go to the Howling Owl, you won't be disappointed.
good gin place, packed on sat night wld recommend to have a reservation, wld love them to have some food. the staff at the bar give some very good options for your gin
The Howling Owl has moved and unfortunately the new premises don't quite have the ambience as the old premises - it's not quite as cosy. However, still the same great selection of gins. The staff are still really knowledgeable and are happy to talk you through their extensive drinks menu. Drinks are still prepared with care.
What a lovely little place! It is a small place indeed (maybe just a bit smaller than I expected), but it has all u need! Gin tasting plates with worldwide Gin, 'fever tree' tonic water and an array of gin condiments to match our gin! Yummy grazing board, with a jalapeno dip that was awesome! The place is quirky yet classy and the service is most definitely with a smile! Thanku Howling Owl 👍😀
One of my favourite coffee around. Sadly, they only offer one size. Happy that they open till late on Fridays and Saturdays so we could still enjoy a good cuppa in the evening.
Staff always friendly. Excellent coffee and delicious cakes and sweet. Cute decor and always worth a stroll through shop next door. Need to stop by for a Gin one day.
This place is #StraightOuttaEastEnd. It's got a nice vibe. It was relatively quiet at 11:30 on a Wednesday morning. The coffee is above average but I still prefer Exchange or Penny. But where else can you find a framed painting of Colin Firth riding a dinosaur...
Gorgeous, cosy and friendly are three words that describe the Howling Owl. Situated below the famous comedy venue, The Rhino Room and next to the local artisan shop, Urban Cow Studio, the Howling Owl is the perfect animal themed addition to the buzzing building.
On my most recent visit here, I came with friends and had a cheese platter and a warm mulled wine. I twas PERFECT for the cold evening and got us chatting and laughing.
On previous occasions, I've met here during the daytime for coffees, soups (really tasty) and sandwiches. Other evenings I've been I've tried the espresso martini (one of the best going around in my opinion) and the gin tasting board, which comes with a list of suggestions, different tonic waters to compliment different gins and some condiments (berries, citrus, herbs). It's a talking point that helps you get drunk.
The cosiness of the venue makes for a comfortable and relaxed visit!
Rain, hail or sunshine if you want Gin or a tasty alcoholic alternative the Howling Owl is a small treasure. Knowledgable and friendly staff. The cheese plates are delicious and go well with a G&T.
Great for a quite drink (or cheeky espresso martini after work). Very knowledgable and friendly staff. Great selection on gin. Food available - sandwiches, salads ect. Vegan dip!
Great local beers, gin and friendly staff. Atmosphere is great. Happy hours and over 60 tins to try. Always packed on a weekend. When you finished you can also check out a comedy, music or arts show upstairs.
Adelaide’s finest collection of gin featuring the best of local and international. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Rachel has created a relaxing enjoyable environment that will have you returning again with friends.

Excellent atmosphere and fantastic gin selection. Great West End location next to Palace cinemas. Quite enjoyed the gin tasting board which is a little pricey - could use a few more nibbles - but can't fault the gins and the presentation. Very relaxed and unpretentious. Recommended.

I’m not normally a gin fan but this place has me converted! Great flavours and the selection of gins are HUGE! What set it apart however was the great service from the bartending staff in selecting drinks and choosing the best gin combo for what we were after - they nailed! Will definitely be back and highly recommend...!!!
Great drinks, delicious platters and excellent service. The bar staff really understand what they are putting into each drink to allow for the perfectly personalized experience. Great vibes and great location.
