Went to Paul's seafood and had a great meal tonight. Ordered a Seafood platter and bay bugs, food was so good and definitely worth of its price value. No wonder this place will be here for such a long time. Will come back when we visit Adelaide next time!
Awesome food and value for money...prepare yourselves for a generous portion
Arrived very busy we booked a table of five and the service was very good but for the food itself couldn’t fault it at all very fresh so good in fact ordered an extra dozen oysters.
My mission today was seafood! I googled, read reviews and chose my destination and am beyond pleased with my choice! Lovely little spot with wonderful service. But the seafood is what I came for and it was sensational!!!
The service was lovely. Sat upstairs, was a bit warm, needed a bit more airflow. Ordered seafood platter for 2. Had a choice of crumbed battered or grilled. They were very accommodating on how we wanted it done. The seafood was fresh plenty for the two of us. The tables were very close together, was hard to move around. Will return!
If you like seafood as me, you cannot miss this restaurant!!! It is located in China town, and it is convenient to walk there from CBD. I am really surprised it’s nice tastes and good service. I ordered seafood platter, soft shell crab and oysters. They are so delicious!!! I strong recommend you to try them, if you go to this restaurant :)
Sadly all the seafood restaurants have gone from Gouger Street. We tried this place and were very happy with the meal. My King George was cooked beautifully.

Paul's Seafood is a sentimental favourite, delivering long lunches to business types for decades. Fruits of the Sea is a great way to imbibe the best of Paul's. This place has an enduring reputation with celebrities staying in Adelaide that we met a couple of years ago making a beeline for Paul's and claiming a great night. We used to meet here regularly for business catch ups. Sometimes you enjoy a restaurant with no frills but which has charm. Since 1946!
Pure simplicity! Great food, great service. What more to ask for for a simple Sunday lunch!
Pauls is a long standing Adelaide institute. The meals are very simple with wedges and salad and the fish cooked to your choice of style perfectly. The decor is old styled but clean and service very prompt (along with the food), helpful and friendly. I recommend Pauls to anyone on the way to the theatre, for a quick bite or enjoyable evening.
Great fish. I have been coming here for at least 15 years and always walked out happy. The shop is nothing flash but a lot better after the renovations 7-8 years ago. The fish is always fresh, served with a basic simple salad and wedges. Its worth at least one visit when im in Adelaide.
Went to this Adelaide institution for dinner tonight (Est 1946). Had a fantastic and filling seafood basket which was up to Paul's standards. The only let down was a glass of coke zero which was two thirds filled with ice and cost $3.90. The cost was later deducted from the bill. Despite this little matter which is verycommonthese days, the dinner was excellent and well worth a visit
I’ve been a patron for 6-7 years and I love it. Teams always nice and they’re not fake. It’s good food and you get good quantities. There’s only one thing I can say as a negative… we want the hand cut chips back please! Give the people what they want.
Seafood was so fresh and service was amazing! Bonus that it is in the entertainment book.
Great hospitality. Booked a table over the phone. The receptionist was really cheerful and warm. Upon arrival she was nice, guided us to our table. And throughout the stay she was great. Attended with a smile, and described things well when asked.
Now, about the main part food and pricing. I randomly selected this one as I needed to book a place for ‘seafood’ and it was the closest at Adelaide CBD. Freshly prepared fish and meals were nice however the pricing seems to be more than what it should be like. Most probably it’s due to their reputation. Since they are a really old place they probably deserve to keep it at that range. Not sure.
Overall, it’s a good place for seafood if price is not an issue. And the service is definitely awesome.
I would give 4.5 due to the pricing, but I think it’s up to them & also there’s no .5 option anyway.😜
Cheers!!🥂
Fantastic place to dine. The Oyster Mornay was superbly amazing but it comes with hefty price though. Canadian Lobster was okay, I find it a little rubbery but the Baby Squid was equally good.
Great customer service. Will be back for more.
