The food here is awesome! These guys make the best coffee in town here. It's a quaint little place to sit and enjoy a cuppa away from the hustle and bustle of town.
Hands down best coffee in Adelaide. And we have tried pretty much every breakfast/coffee place in and around the city. Always consistent, never too hot. Food options are also delicious especially the smoked trout on pumpkin bread
I was on my way to the Rydges hotel for training and google coffee. And this came up. The lady who served me and barista were so friendly and my coffee came in so quickly. The whole experience was great. It was definitely packed in the morning and you will be served quite quickly. I would love to come back and try their breakfast.
Food made with care, love and attention to detail. Amazing flavors! A cafe not trying to do too much but what they are doing is spectacular. Timely pleasant service. 🙏
Great space, most importantly great coffee. The hype is real on this one, I’d forgotten I’ve come here before when they first opened, I liked it then and I still like it now. Only a few treats in the display on this occasion. Got the gf choc chip cookie and it was delicious. The menu didn’t really excite me, I would’ve been tempted by the waffle dish if there was a gf option. I saw the salmon dish come out and it looked great, I think with the limited kitchen space they have they do well for food though.
Best coffee I've had in Adelaide. The breakfast I had was really simple but nice. The eggs and salad were fantastic. Service was decent too.
Little cafe on Gilbert Street that I discovered by accident when driving by early one morning as the sign was being put out. Owned by two very switched on guys who actually seem to understand that service and making your customers welcome is important. The menu is small by adequate and the presentation of the two dishes we had was a bit quirky which is also a nice change from some other places.
The coffee was good and there is seating inside and out. Clean and airy, and you leave feeling that it was worth stopping by.
Summary: Service great. Coffee good. Food good quality and good value for money. Worth a try? Definitely!
Dropped by to take away a muesli, which they put together for me super speedily. The staff were extremely friendly. I was very excited to dig into my breakfast...until I noticed the dusty interior of the container. I was horrified when I gave it a wipe and all this dust came off on my finger! Nonetheless, the muesli was extremely tasty. I particularly liked the bits of corn flakes, pistachios and seeds, which provided a fantastic crunch. There was a generous amount of apple in it, which gave the muesli its refreshing element. I'm hoping the dusty container is just a once off!
I couldn't speak highly enough about paddy's Lantern. The food is simple but on point... the smoked ocean trout on pumpkin sourdough is fresh simple but packed with flavour. The coffee is excellent too. Paddy's do a small menu of well executed dishes...so anything you order will be delicious! The staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend
Fantastic Find! Took my Mummabear for brunch & thoroughly enjoyed it here. Tis a small place with a small menu but it's Massive flavour and great service. Halumi, mushies, basil pesto with beetroot slices 👌 my gosh I would have that dish everyday!!
Bonus easy parking as it's not smack in the middle of the city- just look for the little boy holding the moon on a stick 😊
Really good coffee and very friendly staff. Given the location is a bit out of the way of city coffee spots makes it an excellent spot to relax and have a coffee.
Paddy's Lantern is one of my favourite spots in Adelaide, partly because it's 50m from where I sleep at night, but mostly because it's one of the best cafes in Adelaide.
Food:
The menu at Paddy's is small and, apart from a few regular items, it changes frequently. I love this because it keeps things interesting. I've tried many different dishes here and never been disappointed. As for the coffee, they have a legit case to make a claim for best coffee in Adelaide!
Service:
It's hard to describe the staff here without using the word hipster! But don't judge them on that, they are all lovely people :D
Ambience:
I guess the place could probably do with a bit of a spruce up.. and the worn out air con could probably do with an upgrade.. but that's all a part of the charm of the place!
Dish to look out for:
Coffee!
I was staying at the Mayfair on King William Street when I stumbled across this cafe during an early morning stroll around the city. Oh my word, I’m so glad I’m did. At 7am, you can be treated to not only friendly service and amazing coffee but a delicious and awesome menu. The halloumi on toast is other worldly and I just had to go back for an amazing cookie.
Rode to Paddy’s Lantern on a recommendation and was not disappointed. This place has a sensible and calm atmosphere. It is spacious and light, with walls decorated with artworks. There are various seating options including a wide table big enough to spread out a newspaper; better still you could actually enjoy reading it here.
I ordered a cappuccino and it was so nice that I didn’t need my usual sugar addition. Presentation was excellent and aromatic, the smooth froth lasted through the final sip. Today I had the carrot & walnut cake to accompany my coffee, and it too was excellent. While things often taste better after a ride, I’m certain that the fare here would be great any time!
First time there - owners are awesome guys. Simple healthy menu and great coffee in a historic corner of Adelaide. Well worth a try.
The fried Eggs on Toast with Dukkah and Feta is INSANE, coffee is great also with a light and airy setting to sit in.
Absolutely loved this yummy sandwich. Really friendly people too. Will be definitely be coming back.
This is an understated cafe. Great men with good personality and humour. Excellent coffee. Small menu excellent quality local produce. Sour dough bread to die for. Real butter for toast. Bacon good flavour. Lunch menu great. The offer of delicous treats to go with coffee will please.
The menu isn't big but the food is made with flair and lovely local produce. A real stand out is the ocean trout on pumpkin bread - what an incredibly delicious dish! Coffee is good too and friendly service. Would recommend.
