This place is amazing food to die for highly recommend
Booked because close to where we were going to see a band and oh what a find. Lovely decor, nice and warm on a cold night and the yummiest of foods, great tangines and I couldn't stop eating my hubby's Turkish delight even though I was so full. Will be back thank you.
Absolutely amazing night. Wandered in off the street by chance and were so glad we did! Belly dancer was great and the food was worth the trip alone!
Le Riad Restaurant is always my favourite dinner place. Fabulous food and friendly staffs, cosy and exotic. Going to having dinner with friends tonight! Can't wait!
Awesome food & decor, good price, very friendly staff. 100% recommended!!!
Would have to be one of the best venues in Adelaide for a Corporate Dinner function. Highly recommend you inspect upstairs. Superb traditional Maroccon cuisine and great host. 5 stars from me.
Loved it. Great food great price and we were fortunate to see belly dancing on the Friday went.
Definitely becoming a regular haunt of ours. Amazing food.
Great food, decor and atmosphere. Really nice
Awesome flavours! Great service and fabulous food. Will definitely visit again.
Wonderful atmosphere and excellent food and service 👍
Thank you for an amazing meal for my birthday celebration. The food is amazing and ill definitely be back
Great food, great atmosphere, the best
First time at this restaurant and we will go back again. . . . .all new tastes and flavours for us. . . . terrific night
Great atmosphere and awesome food!
If you are looking to be transported to Morocco look no further. The food is incredible, decor extravagent and service is impeccable. I wish i could give 6 stars.
Le Riad has great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food to match but they need more people on the floor! Even though there only appeared to be one person in the kitchen we didn't wait for meals (and we were a large group). The dips were generous and delicious - but took us so long to get through them because we kept having to find someone to order extra bread. The tajines were all delicious and well cooked, the side salads were really tasty and the vegetable couscous that we ordered as a side was great as well. There was a belly dancer on Saturday night which was good entertainment. If we hadn't have had to work so hard to get drinks / floor staff attention this would definitely have been a 5.
I really enjoyed my meal here. We had the sweet lamb tagine and a rustic mixed grill which were both great - not fancy by any measure but definitely tasty. The restaurant setting is a little dark, but has a unpretentious and eclectic style which gives you plenty to look at. Just as well as the food can take a little while to come out. Bring good conversation and be patient - it's worth the wait.
Took away something for a quick dinner the other night. I went with the falafels with hummus and a special Moroccan salad. The salad was doused in an oily dressing, which was a bit annoying, but it was well spiced and had a lovely flavour to it. I just wish they served it with the dressing on the side so I could control how much I put in. The falafels were heavily deep fried, so they had a thick, very crunchy exterior which I wasn't used to. Nonetheless, they still tasted great, especially eaten with the hummus.
A group 8 of us booked into Le Riad and all had an excellent evening. Michael took our orders, he was charming and friendly, he described the dishes very well and stopped us when he thought we were over-ordering. Our Vegetarian friend was well catered for as well. The entrée of mixed dips had a tasty selection of goat cheese, hoummus, roast capsicum, zucchini & eggplant dips with plenty of pita pieces. The main courses were a mixture of lamb tagine, chicken tagine, mixed grill & cous cous (with vegetables & lamb). Everything received solid approval for taste, quality & quantity from everyone. Le Riad is highly recommended for good value, tasty food in a great setting
Love love love their food! Everything is so tasty!! We tried beef tagine, chicken tagine, Lamb Magwiya (I think that's how it's spelt :/) eggplant dip and Moroccan style soup. Definitely recommend this hidden Moroccan gem in CBD
So good, loved the green beans. Vegan options and all delicious. Will be back.
So tasty and plenty of vegan options - can't wait to go back.
AMAZING!. Myself and my partner went here on a Friday night, greeted by a lovely waiter who showed us to our table and let us have enough time to order. I order the spicy chicken specialty with fried potatoes and my partner the lamb tajin with rice. We shared a little and it was beautifully cooked and in a fast time as well, I would recommend to buy a side of rice with the chicken though. Only down fall to this place was that the drinks are a little over priced but the food definitely is not, with 2 main meals only costing $45 and filled both of us up. If you want a culture experience and a great little Moroccan joint, this is the place to go!
Yum yum!. Went in on a Thursday night. It was quiet to start off with but soon filled up. We went to celebrate a friends birthday with a small group. We ordered the mix dips, potato salad (my new favourite food) and carrot salad. For mains we went with the Rafissa (oh my gosh! So good!), the goat tagine. I've never eaten goat but it was amazing and so tender. We also had a mixed grill and a chicken couscous. We probably over estimated how much we were going to eat as we thought they would be smaller serves. They were pretty big and it was so good we had to take some away with us. We mentioned it was our friends birthday and the waiter brought out a dessert with a candle on it and played happy birthday in Moroccan! Definitely a memorable experience and definitely will be coming back!
Went here for my birthday and just wow.
We booked for a Saturday to see the belly dancer and to make things easy we decided on the banquet before hand. $40 per head there were 10 of us.
First the dips came out. The goat cheese was AMAZING! This was closely followed by a range of Salads: potato, carrot, traditional moroccan salad.
We asked for some time before we got the mains to enjoy the belly dancer who got me up to dance! So much fun!
A large selection of mains came out. We did call in advance to notify them that there were a few vegans and there was a good ratio of meat/chicken dishes to veggie dishes. The flavours were incredible. It was like being back in Morocco.
There was so much food we couldn't finish it and a few people asked for some of it to be packed so they could enjoy it for lunch tomorrow. We ordered some mint tea at the end to cleanse out palettes and as a surprise bonus we found out that the birthday girl/boy doesn't need to pay for their banquet meal! Bonus!
We left incredibly full and smelling of rose water, which they sprinkle on your hands as you leave and unable to wait for our next visit.
1st meal in Adelaide and loved it. Came across this restaurant on a walk about on my 1st night in Adelaide because we could smell the great food from the walkway. We were greeted and welcomed by very friendly staff. Food was great, felt very good after my tagine. Staff and even the owner were very friendly, gave us good recommendations for a tourist to visit in the city. Will definitely go back
Authentic delicious food. I love this restaurant! It's possibly my favourite in all of Adelaide. I have been here many times, and went again last week for dinner with some interstate guests.
The food here is excellent. I spent a few months living with a family in Morocco a few years ago and this is the closest I've come to authentic Moroccan food since. The fish tagine is a must!
The food is designed for sharing, and go for bread with your tagines so you can soak up the delicious sauces.
Excellent value for money, lovely kitsch decor, thoughful service and delicious food.
(They also do take away!)
Le Riad. Charming staff, and wonderful flavours, encompassed in a fascinating decor, this was the best meal I had on a recent trip to Adelaide. Almost makes me want to fly back for dinner tonight!
Cheap and cheerful. Le Riad certainly isn't date-night or special occasion dining but is fine for something different or groups. The menu was large and varied but seemed to be out of a number of things which wasn't communicated like it should have been, when the menus were passed out. On delivery, the food was reasonable but nothing a half-decent cook couldn't match, or better, at home (with bought-in baklava for dessert). Still, you generally wouldn't have a belly dancer come round to yours if you were making at home and the colourful decor gives a nice ambiance. I'd go again but not in a hurry. 6/10
Tasty food, very quaint little place. I like this place. it's small and charming in its innocent, if not somewhat tacky, touches. Like some of the decor and the false flowers on the table.
(ATTENTION ALL RESTAURANTS: No false flowers on a table ALWAYS beats false flowers on a table)
the food is rustic with robust moroccan flavours. fairly generous sized portions.
Great food. We ate at Le Riad last week. Tasty food, excellent service and great atmosphere. We'll be back. It was quiet too.
Beautiful decor, fantastic traditional food and atmosphere, and belly dancing!
GOOD BUT NOT GREAT. Not exactly Middle Eastern cuisine but close enough to eat here for Round 4 of the F1 2012 F1 calendar. My first impression was this place was a bit of mess but then realise this is to provide an authentic look. With 4 people on the table we decided to try 4 different dishes at I must say every one was delicious. Although I enjoyed my meal here I have to say it’s only for those looking for an authentic experience. I did also find the prices quite high for the portion you get and I was also disappointed there wasn’t a greater selection of entrees. Next stop Spain.
Feast for the senses. A friend brought me along to this place and now I keep going back. The flavours of the food are just amazing and the belly dancer on Saturday nights is sensational!
Fantastic!. The meal was great, we had a lemon and olive chicken tagine the flat bread and the quail with salad. I love the flat bread. The desert was fantastic as well, we had a fruit salad. The whole meal was filled with aromatic flavours and a hint of spice.
Food made with Love. We ate well at this cozy home style Moroccan restaurant. Delicious food and great value. BYO if you like decent wine though.
Great Find. We had a ripping night at this place. I had never been to a Moroccon Restaurant before and as soon as you walk in it feels authentic. Well decorated, festive music and a movie showing belly dancing in the corner. The host was also very helpful and happy to answer our questions.
We started with a traditional Moroccoon Soup. there are three on the menu and as there was three of us we ordered them all. The Harira was prehaps the pick. We also ordered some dips with pita bread and they also were good - but i wouldn't get them again.
For main i ordered the meatball tajine with egg and it look impressive. It tasted good too but was a little dry. I had it with rice but in hindsight bread was abetter option.
The pick of the mains we ordered was the sweet chicken tajine. It had tender chicken, cinammon, apricot, sultanas and almonds. It tasted awesome - a must try dish.
We finished off the night with a mint tea and it was definitely sweeter than i expected but ws soothing after a feast.
We sat around and talked for a while and the hosts didn't seem in any rush to move us out even though we were the last people left - always a good sign i think.
The bill came to $120 for 3 people with entrees, main, drinks and tea.
Overall we loved the experience and the food.
Our next Tempting Palates dinner took us to Le Riad, 314b Pultney St Adelaide: Moroccan cuisine at its most humble and tasty. Full of flavours, the food was hearty and rustic and a winner with all the group. Add a touch of belly dancing for your entertainment and you've got yourself a cosy and fun night out.
We were out hunting for a spot to eat on a quiet Sunday evening in Adelaide near our accommodation and weren't finding anything pushing out buttons, until we spied Le Riad, right next to The Coopers Alehouse on Pulteney Street.
If you ever visit Adelaide you need to book at this gem of a restaurant, what a treat the owner is so accommodating and welcoming. The food is delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented. The mixed grill was out of this world and a huge portion of freshly cooked meats and oh so flavorful. As you walk in you are feel transported to a Moroccan tent filled with the sent of ancient spices. Loved every moment and every bite. Not to be missed.
I had never tried Moroccan food and was nervous when a group chose to go there. The food was amazing, portion sizes good, and service was outstanding. It has become one of my must visit places whenever I am in Adelaide.
Had an enjoyable dinner here on 6 May 2022. The website doesn't mention it but wine and mixed drinks are available. $9 for gin & tonic is great value. The chicken couscous was very tasty. The bread stuffed with spinach and feta is recommended as a starter.
Food is to die for. We will definitely return with more people. When you find a fabulous eatery... spread the word around. Thank you so much for keeping the food to its founding place.
Four stars because the felafel are fresh and delicious. Very kitsch interior although nothing like anything I saw when travelling through Morocco but a nice ambience all the same.
The Moroccan dishes with its cultural style. I love sweet chicken tagine as it has appricot in it serve in a special bowl.
Never had Morrocan before.
I should have been eating this for years it was absolutley
fantastic. Themed restaurant, I could have been in Morroco.
Customer service and food excellent.
