Fantastic! Happened to walk past and decided to give it a try...top discovery during our trip so far! Food was fantastic and delicious, great value and served in a timely manner! The traditional hunters stew was delicious and paired with the friend dumpling and potato pancake, a great meal! Atmosphere was delightful and service tremendous! Staff were friendly, knowledgable and accommodating! Would highly recommend!

what a scrumptious food... amuse-bouche was simply divine, followed by delicious fried Pierogi, Soup, Croquettes, Bigos, fresh paczki & polish chocolates later for dessert. Would love to return to try more dishes of the menu. Highly recommend this place.

VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL STAFF
We started with some Old Krupnik liqueur (honey vodka) as an aperitif. What a mood lifter!
Never having eaten Polish food before, we needed enlightening on some menu terms & our questions were happily explained. It was difficult to choose what to have - I wanted to try everything.
We shared entrees of potato pancakes (2) & bread with pickles & smalec. The waitress accommodated our group of three by adding an extra pancake. Smalec is a Polish lard spread which was delish.
For mains we had chicken schnitzels, pierogi (Russian & mushroom dumplings x 3 each) and the beetroot cured ocean trout. The food was well presented with generous servings, so we needed to take some leftovers home in a doggybag.
Too full for desserts.
PS. I want to stress again how lovely the staff were.
Tip: wear elastic-waist pants.

I'm a bit weird, not all that big on dumplings yet I love pierogis. I don't get it, they are dumplings. But I don't think I will ever get it but after eating some In Melbourne awhile back I now seek out polish style restaurants so that I can get my fix. My local Woodland even stocks a local ma and pa establishment that makes them. The name eludes me.

If you love russian/polish style cuisine Borsch is one of the few places around in Adelaide in which you can get it. Potato salads, sausages and the aforementioned pierogis the food is delicious and filling. It all just looks so edible. Situated right next door from the courts pop in after your case to try so acidically punctuated food.

This place is really unassuming, just behind the courts on King William Street!

One of Adelaide's only authentic Police restaurants, I came here for lunch after falling in love with Pierogi (a polish dumpling) when I tried some at the Adelaide Central Markets.

My partner & I decided to share a plate of Pierogis & a plate of Kielbasa (Polish Sausages with a Russian Potato salad, seeded mustard hollandaise, pickled cucumber & beetroot).

It was great talking to the server (she is a member of the family that owns the restaurant) and to hear the passion that is put into each Pierogi.  They are way more complex than you would imagine and the result was divine.  Absolutely delicious & perfect on a cold day.

The Polish sausages were good too - for some reason it felt strange to eat the old salads with it, but I got used to that quickly & the tastes were strong and flavourful.

It's quite expensive, and I can't quite figure out if it is more of a restaurant or a cafe, but I'd definitely recommend coming here to experience some authentic eastern European food.

From the outsets of walking past Borsch one gets the sense you could be dinning in Europe on holiday which follows thru once you step inside your taken back in time with Historic pictures artifacts.

What can I say about the food, delicious, and the service was exceptional.

Breakfast = winner. My breakfast buddy and I are currently doing the café rounds in the CBD. We look for eateries with tempting menus, that are open before 7.30pm (the latter is difficult to find in Adelaide). Borsch ticks these boxes. Upon entering, we were also suitably impressed with the friendly service and inviting interior. I chose "Beetroot Quark" with a side of mushrooms, whilst my friend ordered the "Sweet Poppy Seed Loaf". Both meals were served promptly and presented well. The only fault I could find in my dish was that the poached eggs were slightly overdone. I would happily return to try another breakfast option.

Fabulous. What a fantastic night. Great traditional homemade Polish food presented in a modern manner. My family are of polish origin so know our stuff, this food tasted amazing. Thomas and his family gave knowledgeable, attentive service. This restaurant will certainly please, so give it a try. Good range of local wine and Polish Vodkas. Will definitely be coming back.

A great place! We went for a Friday dinner and it was lovely. Very enthusiastic service and attention to detail. My husband is polish so we were both familiar with the menu items and thought they did a great job of slightly modernizing them and making them hot Adelaide summer suitable without compromising the traditional polish tastes too much. I hope it catches on and gets a following in addition to the Adelaide Polish community as it's a great place and seems to have been opened with a lot of love and care.

Polish King William St. July 11, 2014 I never even noticed this place before. It looks like a cafe or delicatessen, but on Friday and Saturday, they serve dinner. The place is full, so I have to sit outside, on the porsch. Kopitka 7/10 This entree contains mushrooms, beans, and potato dumplings. It's reminiscent of a hearty minestrone soup. The waitress gives some Polish greetings and explanation, which is nice, but I have to think for a moment to interpret "muzh buzh" (amuse bouche.) :)

Small but exceptional menu of Polish delights. Really enjoyed the crepe croquettes and the cured trout. The smalec was lovely and meaty while the pierogies were middling but nice to see them on a menu.

Coffee was good but they don't do breakfast. Apparently it's a lunch place? Messaging was very unclear. Visited at 10am on a Wednesday.

Delicious homemade style food. The staff were so welcoming and warm. It would be great if they had some music playing for added ambience.

Polish food can be a rare find and it was fantastic to find out that this place provides a great range of dishes, all prepared in a high-quality manner. I started with a serving of pierogi in Ruski style (potato and cheese). If you're new to Polish food, pierogi is the country's version of dumplings. They're made a little bit larger than dumplings from other countries and the dough is flour-based. Having been to Poland, I can tell you that this place makes the same traditional kind that you would find in Poland. For the main, I had the bigos - a stew made of sauerkraut and Polish sausage. The serving size and quality of the dish was excellent. With the pierogi and bigos combined, I felt very content. To complement the food, you can always rely on good Polish beer and this place had an impressive selection, particularly given that it can't be difficult to track down so many varieties of Polish beer in Australia. If you haven't tried it before, the flagship beer, Zywiec, I regard as being one of the best unknown beers out there. Then to finish off my meal, I had a shot of gorzka, a Polish digestive vodka that has the same relaxing effect of grappa or port. Can't wait to come back!
