I have been a regular customer of Thanh Thanh for about 4 years now. It's value for money. Whilst it may not be to the exacting standards of Vietnamese pho joints in Footscray, VIC, its close enough and up there. The broth for the beef noodles is light yet rich in flavour. Not overly salty or with MSG like newer joints or "faux pho" joints - ie not owned and run by Vietnamese. I highly recommend the following: 1) Roll Your Own - 1 serve can feed 4 - 6 as an entree. A great and fun start. 2) Fresh Beef Noodles Soup (ie fresh beef + pho) - raw slices of very fresh beef is placed on top of the noodles and the broth poured over so that the beef is just cooked - as how it is served by the roadside in Vietnam. This is the only way to have it. A small sized bowl is enough for a small to average appetite. You must specify fresh beef. 3) Combination Egg Noodles - dry - super yummy 4) Pork loin with rice If you eat here as Vietnamese do, you're looking at an average of $12/person. You wouldn't go far wrong for a family of 4. Tips: Families with younger children, 8 and below can order a baby bowl of beef noodles for less than $6. It's always exciting when you can have your own bowl of noodles. Or 2 kids under 10 can share a small bowl of pho and you can order an extra bowl of beef for $4.50. A very hearty meal and most of all healthy. 2) For people who are carb conscious, share a small bowl of pho and order another 2 small bowls of beef under the "Extra" section of the menu. You get fairly lean protein, carbs that are gluten free and the vast amounts of bean sprouts and fresh herbs are a decent source of fibre.

We were seated quickly and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the combination egg noodles (dry) small. The food came out very quickly. The sauce on the noodles was beautiful. It is a sweet sauce and really made the dish. The soup that comes with it was really tasty. Next time I would order the large as I was still a little hungry. All in all I will definitely be going back. Great food, excellent service and the atmosphere is really nice too.

This place is a must try for good Vietnamese food. On entry the vibe and aesthetic was very cute, it is a clean establishment. The staff were very friendly. Also the service was super fast! I didn’t expect that but I was very impressed. You could taste the freshness of the food and the quality of the ingredients. I like that there were different sauces available at each table so you could add anything you wanted to your dish. I also though that the fish tank at the back was super cute! The pricing wasn’t bad and the serving sizes were quite generous. I highly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed. Dine in and takeaway options available.

The food was really good and great value for the price. Clean place with friendly staff members. Will be great if the restaurant can have a bit more staff members during busy time because the food is awesome and it definitely attracts lots of people. Overall really good experience. Will come back soon.

We ordered 6 dishes as a table and most were great - awesome chicken fried rice, awesome rice and pork combo, awesome chicken stir fry thing that I can't quite remember the name of. The only disappointment was the noodle bowl with pork crackling. We usually order from Soonta and always enjoy their version, but the pork was more chewy and the dressing not quite as good. Overall though a tasty experience.

Very decent, typical Vietnamese cafe fare, good presentation with generous servings. Had the (small) combination rice and was pretty full afterwards. Price is fair, consistent with other Viet places in town. Restaurant itself is very ordinary looking with half of the restaurant seemingly unfinished and used as a store room. If you only care about the food though, none of this should matter to you.

Loving it. Ordered a "traditional wrap your own roll meal" and a Vietnamese coffee with and a cup of ice. You can pour into the cup of ice or drink it straight. Beware of the hot bowl of water. It is meant to soften the rice wrappings. Dont soak it for too long. Thanking the waitress for letting me know not to order another meal. I didnt know that having the "traditional wrap your own meal combination version" could make you really full. Haha. Overall, nice ambience and kind waitresses. Haha.

Lovely staff, great restaurant and amazing food. They can make a lot of options vegan and the food is incredible. I had the roll your own cold rolls with lemongrass tofu and an entree of salt and pepper tofu. Prices are great. Definitely recommend.

Pho. I'm always searching, looking for that elusive best examples of this Vietnamese treasure. Breakfast of champions, lunch of legends, dinner of ... ? You get my drift. Anyhow, tucked away on a side street just nearby the central markets is a nondescript restaurant. That's a good sign. Aquarium at the back, I scan the menu briefly happy to see Bun Rieu as a recommended special. Tempted to get this Crab 🦀 and tomato 🍅 noodle soup offering as good ones are so good and hard to find, but like I said before, I'm here for the Combination Pho. All the proper condiments offered, plenty of bean sprouts and basil, coriander and fresh chilli. The stock, the quintessential element of a good Pho is flavoursome and complex. There is an abundance of ingredients, generous rare beef slices and many noodles. Filling and delicious. Easily one of the best Pho I've had in the city. Only dropped a star because the music was way too loud, even with my noise cancelling headphones on. Didn't help that I was plonked right under the speaker, but I doubt being anywhere else would have made a difference - it was that loud. Will return to try that Bun Rieu! 🍜
