Review Iberia - Adelaide

Beautiful food. We had the feed me menu option which included about 10 dishes with dessert. The chorizo, eggplant, meatballs, and sorbet were just wonderful.

Had awesome culinary experience at Iberia. Great service and hospitality. People there know exactly what they serve. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.

The ocean trout is sublime! The menu is full of fresh dishes that really highlight the quality ingredients. The downstairs bar is sexy too, id say it's great for anything from dates to groups of 8 -10ish

The downstairs bar staff were friendly and proffessional. Good selection of drinks with a well refined cocktail menu, definitely made the right choice to come here for after work drinks. Might become a regular hangout for us

If you like your chicken raw, your vegetables under cooked and the only available soft drink a "spiced cola" then Iberia is the place for you. The chicken was still bleeding much to the shock of the waiter. It was quickly taken off the bill without question when returned, but this is completely unacceptable as it's a basic health and safety standard, especially when paying a premium. Avoid.

I walked in on my own and ordered the set menu before I sat down. Over the course of about 75 minutes I received 4 small dishes (one was a cherry tomato covered in Parmesan cheese, another was a small hollow breadstick with an anchovie on top) and one slightly larger dish. The set menu was to be $60. After such a long time I gave up, and was still charged $52.50. I left just before my last dish was to arrive. A single scoop of sorbet. Early on when I mentioned to the lad that he can bring more than one thing at a time (to save dishes) he declared "that is not the way at Iberia, we like u to sit, drink and enjoy the atmosphere". As I wasn't drinking, and I was on my own, the atmosphere involved me and my iPhone... If you're a 40 something kilo model with a distaste for food, this is your place. Bon appetite

Loved the casual atmosphere and delicious food. We had the set menu and matching drinks and had a really great night. Will be back again.

Excellent food. All the dishes were great BUT the kale dish is unbelievable. If you think kale is some boring green, you have to try this. Then of course there was the squid and the aged black pig.....

We popped in for a quick dinner fix and we were pleasantly surprised — perhaps because we weren't expecting anything. Keep in mind, it is a tapas place. So don't expect large portions.

The service staff were friendly and quite attentive. The food was interesting. I'd recommend the seaweed crackers and the dessert for sure!

+ The seaweed crackers were really interesting, a must-try in fact! The whipped roe wasn't too overpowering and paired with the mole, really makes for a great "umami" experience.

• The prawns were well grilled, really fragrant and savoury, but the bisque was lacking in flavour. You could definitely go ahead and throw in a pinch or two of maldon or sea salt.

• We had the Jamon, which is a standard. No complains about it.

• The empanadillas with morcilla were not very surprising — tasted like morcilla (blood sausages) 💁🏻

+ The brownie with beetroot ice cream was delicious! The beetroot ice cream seemed to have a vanilla base and the beetroot flavours were not lost at all. I reckon even those who aren't big on beetroot would love it. The custard was a little unnecessary and the brownie slightly overlooked but regardless, try this if you're here!

They actually recommended the anchovies and a few other dishes but my dining partner and I weren't inclined to them. But perhaps you'd be well off taking their suggestions :) The staff in general have a good idea of what's good and have keen palates.

Iberia didn't blow my mind like I expected it too. The food is average but servings are small and the food is pricey. Friendly staff ... I guess , give it a shot- you might like it, you might not.

We dined here with a large group which meant we could only order a set menu. I was a bit concerned at first as our group had a few dietary requirements but was thrilled with the food and service. A vast array if goodies rolled out, with special individual options for those who needed it. I really wish I’d taken photos as there were so many unique and delicious foods. The service was exceptional. Only downside is that the restaurant is quite small and not as classy as some in Adelaide

I always try the new restaurants. This lay out was so small. My friend was sat right in front of the toilet. And next to the dirty plate pass. I was facing the toilet, and an often occurrence would be looking at a toilet bowl as guests would not close the door after they had finished. Numerous staff walked past and never closed the door either. Food was different. I did not enjoy the poppers as I do not like heat. The burruta was good, but I think that was bought and plated, not made. The highlight was the Portuguese tart. We were given a generous portion and the tart was perfectly cooked with still some warmth and gooze with the custard. I will be back just for this. The food was way overpriced for the small served.

Iberia’s menu is uber packed with flavour and dishes that are executed well! We decided to go and try Iberia on an offer that I spotted and I do love these for the reason that if you were unhappy with the food or establishment and you’ve paid good money (and there’s nothing worse), at least you didn’t pay the entire amount! This can really add up if you dine out often.

On another note, wow! the reviews are really inconsistent on this restaurant from different sites, hopefully they will find common ground that most can agree on, although that is nearly impossible! we will see.

Upon entering, we noticed the lovely chic décor and an open kitchen, although it was a tad cold.

Perusing the wine list, it was interesting enough and the choices we made were good ones! We had a really exceptional Spanish white that we both enjoyed.

We ordered a few items off the tapas menu and enjoyed everything we had. Standout was the lentil pate, charred celeriac and flounder, anchovy crostini was nice, top quality anchovy but this dish is a little dry. Some of the servings are quite small and I believe if we had not been able to use our offer, this would have been quite an expensive dinner.

Would I return? Yes, but if I was paying full price, I would like to see slightly larger serves.

Thanks Team. Delicious.

Average service average fit out not very welcoming had better spanish style food elsewhere . Won't be rushing back to this place. Bring back mesa lunga!

Iberia's fit out is modern, but comfortable. It's really well thought out. Service is generally good, they sometimes get a bit distracted but are generally nice and attentive. Foodwise- they seem to be trying too hard. We tried the tasting menu, $60 pp. So many different dishes that just don't seem to work together. Lots of pickled veggies, a whole fish, anchovies on a tiny hollow piece of bread crust...it certainly kept us entertained, but it didn't work, and no single main dish stood out. Dessert was probably the highlight.

I hear the menu changes seasonally. So, it might just be that the current edition is not so good. Based on my last experience, would love to come back for a drink but, not the food.

Location, staff and ambiance were all very pleasant, staff were accommodating even though there were three of us and we hadn't booked. Meals were unfortunately quite lack luster considering the prices. Waitress recommended the tomato dish which ended up just being a large plate of raw tomatoes for 15 dollars, tapas plate included strange items like whole chunks of picked carrot and desperately needed a side of bread or similar to eat the preserved meats with. The "larger" mains we ordered tasted fine but we're also tapas sized, we didn't have drinks but the bill still came to more than $60 each and we were all still fairly hungry. Not a horrendous experience but definitely expected better considering the positive hype around this place, left with an unpleasant feeling that our money could have been better spent on dinner elsewhere.

A wonderful new addition to rundle street. Staff were great, food was excellent and wine was lovely. The pumpkin with manchego custard and the cabbage with bacon and brioche were standouts. The lamb with cod roe was outstanding. If you don't order the Portuguese tart for desert, you're not living.

A great addition to Rundle Street. There are a range of tapas available as well as larger plates. We loved the ocean trout rillettes and the cured meats. The smaller single plates are also good. The lamb shoulder had great taste but maybe needed slightly longer cooking. The wet rice is full of Iberia Restaurant grown vegetables and is a great side dish.
