Small but very welcoming Thai eatery. Service was prompt and friendly.

Ordered the fish cake stack and the Tom Kha Gai - both delicious. The portion sizes are on the smaller side, but this is reflected in the menu price

Kin Thai is my personal favourite Thai restaurant in Adelaide. This family owned restaurant consistently deliver high quality Thai dishes, at a reasonable price. It is not like other main stream Thai restaurants: most dishes are slightly sweeter to balance out the strong flavour of spice and herbs. Tong Yum Lava Omelette is a sensational rice dish that you can absolutely cannot find else where, at least in Adelaide. Pad thai and kra pao gai are delicious too. Staff are nice and always happy to help.

Some of my best food discoveries have been completely accidental and Kin Thai is definitely one of them!

--- Food & Drink ---
The menu features a around 30 dishes including salads, soups, curries, rice and noodle dishes.

We ordered the Kana moo krob and  Pad Prik Kang.

The  Kana moo krob is a stir-fried crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli on rice.  I absolutely loved this dish!  I only wished the serving were larger as I didn't want to stop eating this.

The second dish was the Pad Prik Kang which is a stir-fried chicken, vegetables with red curry paste. It is served with rice and half cut boiled a egg.  I opted for the mildly spicy.  I really enjoyed this!

--- Venue and Experience  ---

Located on the far western side of Weymouth Street in the CBD this little restaurant is surrounded by residential and office buildings.

Inside the decor is modern, bright and quite homely.  There are nice little touches including old photographs and small artwork depicting various aspects of Thai culture.

You will need to go to the counter to place your order and the meals are served to your table.

On my visit the staff were extremely friend and polite.

The only let down was the time it took the food to come out.  Our visit was on a Sunday evening and the restaurant only had 2 other tables occupied. We waited over 40 minutes for the food to come out which seemed rather long for a quiet night.

Venue rating:  08/10

Nestled in the quieter side of Waymouth Street is a brand-spanking new Thai restaurant that goes by the name Kin Thai. The name was given birth with the concept that Thai people generally like to share their meals with family and friends, so it operates by inviting people "to eat Thai food".
While the restaurant itself might be fairly small and only able to harbour 18 people at a time, the ambience of this cute, little place is absolutely relaxing, with lots of natural lighting, cozy sofas, beautiful and colourful pillows, and enough chairs and/or stools to enjoy a feast with friends and family on a table.
What struck me most about Kin Thai was how there is a beautiful balance of culture and modernism under one tiny roof. It is apparent that the look of the cafe is meant to appeal to a wide audience who are both native to Thailand and those who have the exploratory cultural gene in them, which helps in appreciating culture that Kin Thai aims to represent through their food and decor.
Walking into Kin Thai on an empty stomach was definitely one of the better ideas I had, because almost everything on their menu sounded super delicious. A feast was in order, so we opted to try a number of items from their appetizers, mains, and dessert (of course)!
First off was the Thai Curry Puff. The pastry was not overly crumbly, which is a big make-or-break deal for pastry-based dishes for me. There were lots of delicious ingredients such as caramelized chicken, onion, sweet potatoes and sweet chilli sauce, which mixed together beautifully. The pastry tasted really nice both - with and without the chilli sauce as the sweetness coming from it was subtle and pleasing to the palate.
No Thai feast would be complete with a lovely serve of Massaman curry with rice. While I was expecting this curry to be a bit more on the spicier side, it was still an enjoyable dish that complemented the rice in a brilliant manner. Had I not been starving, I would've probably eaten the entire curry and rice dish by itself and still be satisfied.
They say that we have two stomachs - one that's the regular kind, and one that's specifically designed for taking in the desserts. We may have been full to the brim with our all of our Thai goodness, but there's no way we were going to leave without satisfying our sweet tooth.
Cue in the Kin Thai Kaya Roti. I was unsure of how I'd find this dish as roti is not something that you would typically associate with dessert - it's more of a savoury-based item. But, oh how glad I was to be proven otherwise. The roti was served alongside a mixture of coconut jam, sugar, coconut milk and eggs. The roti dipped in this mixture tasted absolutely divine and had a nice balance of sweet and salty.

Waymouth Street in the Adelaide CBD has recently become home to a number of new restaurants and bars. While there is the popular “office hub” with all the businesses the working professionals, who flock to their local favourite cafes to satisfy their lunch cravings, there is the part of Waymouth street, past Light Square, that tends to be on the quieter and more tranquil side. Nestled in this side of town is a brand new Thai restaurant called Kin Thai, which is a quaint, little restaurant that can seat up to 18 people in its cosy establishment.

I did love the food there. Great flavours, excellent customer service, beautiful happy atmosphere, but the portions are small. This is the only thing about this cute little eatery! Make your portions bigger and I am yours for life!

Dinner at @kinthaiwaymouth! Delicious food 😍😍🤤🤤. Will definitely return for more next time! . Pad Thai with seafood: classic dish - and they did it perfectly! Noodles had nice consistency and the flavours were amazing! . Chicken wings: nicely done ✅. . Lava omelette with tom yum: this was a super interesting dish! Lovely tom yum soup with seafood - tasty flavours! And that omelette on the rice made a good addition. Haven't had this dish anywhere else before. . Thai milk tea: pretty good standard drink 😃.

Wow! I love Thai food and this place was outstanding! They serve Thai milk tea which a lot of Thai restaurants in Adelaide don’t, so I was excited! The lunch plate was plenty full and very tasty, they actually made it spicy for me! I also got the satay chicken, which was very enjoyable. The space is small, cute, well decorated with wonderful service! One of my favorite new spots in Adelaide!
