Delicious food - both the kangaroo pie floater and the Mediterranean couscous salad. Lots of south Australian craft beer and wine to choose from.
Nice, relaxed atmosphere with an amazing selection of SA beers, and supposedly all the produce is sourced from SA. We shared the kangaroo pie floater with pea mash which was delicious (and much fancier than the traditional pie floater I’m told). The meat was tender and one of the tastiest ‘roo I’ve had. The pastry was also very tasty. On the other hand, the chicken karaage was a little soggy but the accompanying mayo sauce was nice. Recommended.
This place has a great choice of traditional pub good, beers and cider. The pork schnitzel I had was very nice and the bar area had a great ambience.
I've been here a bit because it is so close to me right now. So far tried calamari, bangers and mash, steak. They can cook here, certainly much better than the average. Calamari is not chewy like I expected, snags are of quality and good cut of steak cooked as ordered (medium rare). The bar is pretty dim, but warm and cosy. I like the bar staff, friendly people with good service.
From drinks out the front to dinner inside we received great service - very friendly and helpful when choosing from the HUGE beer menu on offer. We had some snacks and they were all fine. Everyone enjoyed their mains - great value. Love that they have a bottle shop attached and let you purchase from that and consume with your meal.

Staff are friendly and very on the ball, very chilled out blues music playing. It almost reminds me of the Baxter inn in Sydney , this will Be Adelaide's a hit place soon food is nice can't wait to come back again...
In our opinion the King’s Head is without doubt one of the best pubs around. It is just everything that we think a venue should be – they have a premium on using local produce, serve up local wine and have an extensive and interesting list of local boutique beers. The physical venue itself is very cool indeed, both the front bar and the dining room being more than comfortable places to spend your time, especially with the fire lit and rain falling outside in the middle of winter.

The Kings Head Hotel is a hipster-style bar located on the south side of Adelaide's city. They have a large, roating list of craft beers, as well as a good South Australian wine list. Food includes share plates, large mains and pub classics.
Have been here before for drinks, but on our most recent visit we also dined in. It was Australia day, so early points were awarded because, unlike many other Adelaide pubs, the Kings Head was open for the public holiday.
For dinner, we weren't too hungry, so between two people ordered three small plates plus garlic bread. For $25 this was great value. The plates were croquettes, arancini balls, and to celebrate Australia Day, sausage rolls. Croquettes and arancini balls were a little under cooked, but still good. Sausage rolls are made by Hyde Park bakery and were really tasty. Also tried several beers on tap which were all cool.
Despite only two bar staff working, service was efficient enough. They could, however, have been more knowledgeable about the beers, etc. Finally, do not go here if you want to watch sport - they don't televise it. In all, would return another time.

Fantastic Salt and Pepper Squid. Visited on the spur of the moment and really enjoyed it. Very hospitable staff who were very eager to please. Great food. Squid was seasoned to perfection however I wish there was more of it. Too few squid on too many chips.
Do yourself a favour and get to the kings for one of their cheeseburgers. It is practically sex in a bun. Honestly the best burger I've ever experienced!

Service is always excellent, and very friendly. Great selection of beers (all south Australian). The pub plates are great value and great quality! Keep up the great work guys!!
Came here for a sneaky Friday lunch, perfect place to hide away for a few hours.
Lovely friendly service and the food is amazing. I ordered the pork belly and the king prawns. Beautifully cooked and presented, despite the busy crowd. Always a sign of professional chefs who take pride in their work.
Clearly a professional outfit, well done all.

Worthwhile stroll from the Hilton. This is a great pub on the edge of the CBD in Adelaide. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night. I had the steak, chips and salad. The steak was cooked as requested and I thought it reasonably priced in the bar. It has a great atmosphere and the fireplace was a welcome addition to a chilly evening. The staff were friendly and attentive.
From reading reviews and deciding to try this long forgotten pub was a blessing in disguise. Prompt and friendly service with a classy backdrop of artificial & candle light and there is the splendid menu that we ordered The garlic & herb sourdough followed by a beast size burger that simply oozed juice & flavour coupled with copious amounts of thick cut chips and a stripped calamari that was cooked 2 perfection & topped off with an Adelaide Hills Sav Blanc this was a truly modern, well priced & delightful pub meal that stands the test of quality & quantity with flying colours
Pub food at restaurant prices, however it was decent. The portions were small but it was cooked well with quick service.

Delicious!. I visited The Kings a few weeks ago with friends. The service was great - really friendly, helpful staff. I had the vegetarian burger and it was amazing. My friends also enjoyed their meals. Even though I was really full after the burger I finished off with the fruchoc icecream - delicious! I cant wait to go back!
Yep, would go back. Dined this week with my husband. Sat in the bar where you can have the same menu as the dining room so it was a nice casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great focus on local wine, beer and food. Chicken fajitas were great and pretty healthy. Could easily be shared for lunch. Partners schniity was good with great chips. Food was slow to come out (about 30 mins) but we didnt mind as we were having a drink and chatting anyway. Would have liked to try the fruchoc desert but not time. Used Entertainment voucher so extra value.

The only negative is 2 people on our table ordered a fish dish and the servings were very different in size.
But my wife who got the smaller serve absolutely loved it anyway.
Good food, great service and on a scoopon. Had sunday lunch here. Very attentive staff, choice of the whole menu for mains. Started with a tasty plate for two of all SA produce,my partner a juicy steak and I had the lamb perfectly cooked and generous. A share dessert which suited me which was lovey. All this accompanied by a bottle of sauv blanc from Shield estate. Loads of scoopon users on a Sunday.
Awesome - Great value and service. Used a Scoopon (which we booked in advance - as it states you have to for all of those negative reviewers!), and will definately be returning soon.

The Kings. After having lunch at the King's about 4 times in as many months I have found it universally good. I have had the Kings Veggie burger several times and it has always been great and the relish that comes with it is excellent. I had the Gnocchi once and it was also great, the only problem was last time I went it was not on the menu in the bar. If it was put back on I will be back to have it.
Went back. I was taken to the Kings Head for lunch recently and had the snapper on prawn risotto - delicious.
It was excellent - so much so that I took the family back. We had the kingfish (great), meat balls (very good) and scotch fillet (pretty good). The scotch fillet meat quality was only average but there were enough good bits to make a meal.
The desserts were really good.
