You think you've had Lebanese food, right?
Hi foodies! I don't know what to say. I thought I knew what Lebanese food was like. I'd always treated Lebanese food with indifference. My thoughts were always, "Yeah, it's like Greek food but with less flavour." Sorry, I say it like it is and that's the way I felt about it. *shrugs shoulders* Then I was invited to The Rustic Fig. My friends on Instagram raved about it and once again I was polite but treated the food with indifference. The truth being, I had never eaten REAL Lebanese food before. I was later to find out, I ate a westernised version of Lebanese food which sadly was cheapened down with "fillers".

Such a beautiful little cafe serving delicious Lebanese food. We can’t thank the owners enough for their patience and excellent services too. We have three young kids and they all enjoyed the food immensely!!! We can’t be grateful enough for this little gem nested within the eastern suburbs.

Entering the cafe, I could see that the use of 'rustic' in the cafe's name was a perfect fit for this small venue with alternating coloured chairs, a slab of stonework at the counter, a splash of green on the wall and some pops of orange throughout. Settling into the rustic decor, we meet Erica, who owns the cafe with her husband Naji, who is also the cook. Erica and Naji migrated to Adelaide with their 2 children, 3 years ago after living in Lebanon for 19 years. And this is when our Rustic Fig experience truly began...
