Great fresh salads, really enjoy using Uber eats to get khangs noodles at work. Staff are usually pleasant when I go in and the prices are really good. The vermicelli salads are a personal favourite, spring rolls and cold rolls are really great too. It’s a pretty busy little restaurant with limited parking however it’s located next to large shopping centre so you can park on the street or in the shopping centre car park and still be very Close to the restaurant.
Only had one issue ever with the place and that was with a pick up order taking close to an hour to be ready however staff were semi apologetic and if never experienced it previously
If you are after typical Vietnamese fare like Beef Noodle Soup (Pho) and Broken Rice (Com Tam) and Vermicelli noodles (Bun) then you can get that here, but most importantly, it will also be at a good standard. Fresh, consistent, good size servings, all moderately priced. The small size Pho is probably big enough for a standard meal for any person. The medium size Pho will suffice for anyone with a bigger than standard appetite. The extra large size Pho seems to be somewhat of a silly novelty than something that any mere mortal could ever finish themselves. Even two people would struggle to finish that behemoth. They should give out T-shirts for anyone who can fit that thing in their stomachs. Having said that, I am usually more of a Com Tam (Broken Rice) guy and one of my pet peeves is when the roast pork that comes with it is not very fresh or crispy (often the case with these places). However, this place does the roast pork very well and its always been fresh when I've ordered it - so much so that I just order the "Roast Pork Broken Rice" instead of the "Combination" so I can get more of that fresh, tender, slightly fatty, slightly greasy, roast pork goodness, with the all-important and always crispy crackling! Consistency is the hallmark of a good eatery because it ensures satisfaction, satiety, and value for money. It also means you know what you are paying for and that you wont be getting any unwanted surprises. After about a dozen or so visits I am confident that this place is quite consistent.
I'm not one to care about ambience. Places like this are here to serve one's appetite not to create a particular dining experience or aesthetic. The slurping sound of noodles and soup, the crunch of crispy pork crackling, the motley assortment of diners that come and go, and the loud conversations create an ambience befitting of the purpose of such a place. It lacks the pretension of some other Vietnamese Pho-based eateries that try to appear more "up-market", with their "up-market" prices and their desire to cater to a more "up-market" clientele (by which I mean working class Caucasians who come in search for something "exotic", "healthy" and "reasonably priced", though almost always end up ordering a stir-fry or a salt n pepper squid to go with their BYO). In reality, Pho, Broken Rice, Vermicelli and the like, are the heart and soul of these places. Dishes that in their country of origin, were and still are, sold as affordable and tasty street-food by street-vendors for mainly working class folk (and now "food tourists" of course). This place retains that kind of heart and soul and with consistency too.
Great restaurant, love all kinds of noodles there, I’ve tried almost all kinds of noodle already. Recommend the iced coffee too. We normally order via the phone and when we arrive there the noodle is ready. The owner and his wife are very nice people.
We go there for consistently good, big, yummy warm bowls of pho and laksa! They have plenty more to choose from on their menu. We also recommend the custard-apple smoothies. Good value for money. Generous serves.
Amazing Avocado and coconut smoothie!!! Poppie would come back over and over just for this. The hokkien Mee are delicious however the Thai fried Rice is a little on the plain side even though it's packed with seafood. Serving sizes have definitely seemed to have become smaller since Poppies last visit. Prices are reasonable. Good service and plenty of seating. Worth an eat if in the area 👍
Came here for lunch and was curious what the renovations were like. Not bad just a nice contemporary style make over. Food was nice as always but prices are slightly higher then normal but the servings are big. Small pho is about $14.5 I think medium $15.50 then the large is $17! Mind you it's the size of a fish bowl lol!
Ok, I have to agree with all the other reviews on this restaurant. I ONLY come here for their stir-fried noodles (Khang's special combination & the Sweet & Spicy noodles are my favourites). Their selection of fruit smoothies are great however their pho and other soup dishes aren't so satisfying. I have to mention that the recent renovation looks lovely, supper spacious. Most waiters don't speak English very well and aren't very attentive when waiting to be served. I've had to raise my hands up like a school kid several times lol
Good food, no complaints about the customer service and the dining area is very spacious and clean which I like.. but the prices are just too high! There are many similar restaurants in the area that offer the same or better quality food and service at more reasonable prices.
Came here with a couple of friends and I never even knew the place existed. Will admit it's small and in a slightly dodgy area, but doesn't stop the food from being tasty and very valuable in price. Had the Chicken, pork and prawn phó and a can of coke for $15 and the small size was seriously so big I couldn't finish it. 😊
Best pho in Adelaide at the moment (I eat a lot of pho!). I can't really say much about the other food because I only order pho. Not the cheapest bowl you can get but still heaps cheaper than Western foods. You gotta try it!
Been here about 10 times now and the food is consistently good and great value for money. The place is more for a casual meal or quick lunch. Don't expect to get high restaurant style service here, but the staff are attentive and efficient.
crazy value especially the pho there. the large bowl is enough to feed a family, and my chopstick kept falling into the bowl.
the smoothie however was way too thick, it felt like i was drinking a brick through the straw.
Large servings and delicious flavours!. I've had the pho here and it was good (wouldn't say it's the best around the area) but I think their stirfry noodles are the best! I love their hokkein mee, which has so much flavour and really satisfies.
Nice clean restaurant with good service. The phô is lovely and I couldn't fault it at all. It was exactly the phô I have been craving all week!
The servings are insanity. Would you like a salad bowl full of the tastiest pho in adelaide? yes? well this is the place for you. good prices for pho. all the pho variants are delicious, but the rest of the menu is a bit of a hit and miss. really, if you order pho (be it chicken or beef) you won't be disappointed. the restaurant itself is not the most luxurious, but it's great for a saturday lunch pho fix.
Has become a favourite because of it's fresh flavours, huge serves and low prices. The pho soup is to die for and you only need to order the small as the bowls sizes are huge!!! The roast pork and quails are a must have. Love love love this place!
OMG I love this place Huge .... OMG I love this place
Huge meals for little price
Best pho ever
Had another great beef pho last night. the food is always quick, fresh and cheap.
Delicious meals and fast service.
I recommend the chicken pork and prawns for a refreshing tasty meal.
If you are after something more hearty and with a bit of spice the laksa is just as amazing!
I personally prefer the tofu laksa :)
Good, cheap food. Your experience may depend on the dishes you order though. Love the Pad Thai and Thai fried rice but didn't enjoy the curries.
Fantastic place!!! Cheap and damn good. One of the best beef noodles in town!!!
Yummy. Khangs is amazing best soups and noodles all around and a must try is there omelete's just to die for!!! Great prices quick service and just all over great food i couldnt ask for more. I've been going there for years and years and never once had a bad meal! please a must try if in the area!
I thought the mango smoothie was fine, no complaints there! I had the prawn skewers, very good and the raw beef with meatballs pho. Loved the broth, and the chilli was firey🥵, but great. Ate the dim sum(steamed) before a pic!! Improve the menu appearance with pics would be helpful. I'll be back to try another dish or 3
Been here a few times. Great variety of dishes and very very generous serves. Dry egg noodles with roast pork is yum. The roast pork crackle is soooooo crispy. Yum!
Visited with low expectations having read a number of poor reviews about staff attitude. Found something I liked on the menu but couldn't get a straight answer out of waitperson if it was gf or not. The dish was chicken, pork, and prawns with glass noodle. There wasn't a huge amount of meat and there was only one prawn. However, the soup was superb and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Just delicious. Will definitely be back.
We ate spicy beef noodle (bún bò) and dried pork noodle (hủ tíu). Although the spicy beef noodle can not beat the flavour I love in Vietnam, this place still consider as the best similar one in Adelaide (we tried almost spicy beef noodle in Adelaide).
The dried pork noodle lacks of its signature sauce. I think the chef should create his signature sauce and mix it with noodle before delivering to customers. So, the best dried noodle is still Viet Hoa’s.
The flavour of soup along with dried noodle is good, so I guess pork noodle soup will be good, I will try it in the next time.
