Lovely laid back atmosphere, have walked past many times and rarely busy. Good place to go for a quiet twilight mood lighting kind of feeling. Food is overpriced in my opinion but variety is good and their steak options whilst expensive are delicious.
Warm friendly environment great service convenient location in hut street adelaide.
Great meal good beef and Atlantic salmon. Will go again for sure.
A Steak and Quilmes. I'm not sure why this restaurant is rated as 4 $$$$. I would say 3 $$$ max, although I didn't note down the whole menu. The more expensive dishes were things like whole leg of goat which should be shared between 2 people.
I ordered something simple, a scotch fillet accompanied by verduras salteados (sautéed vegetables, which in this case included small potato wedges).
And most importantly to accompany it, a Quilmes, an original lager from Argentina. If you ask for a beer there, you will be given an Quilmes; no-one will ask you "what type". In fact I once complained to an Aussie expat. in Argentina that most restaurants only serve Quilmes, to which he replied "Why would you want anything else if you can have Quilmes"?
The steak arrived cooked to perfection, touches of black on the outside and pink at the core, with a coating of chimichurri, a local steak sauce.
Full marks, nothing too difficult or unique, but Argentinians take great pride in all forms of barbecued meat and whether cooked at home or in the restaurant, it is always perfectly done. On reflection though, $39 is top price for one 250 gm steak.
Beautiful food and atmosphere and the oysters are to die for! And that's coming from someone who didn't like them till I tried these!!!
JOY. I loved the authentic food.
Chimmichurri is the best for meaaaat!
Rib Eye was amazing
thanks
Absolutely love it here! Food is amazing - jamon, fillet steak and creme brûlée is my favorite combination. Cannot get enough of the potatoes!! Love that this place is professional but not pretentious, service is personal and the option to BYO wine with reasonable corkage is appreciated. Will be back soon.
Nice to Meat You. You like meat? Eat here. Great sauces to accompany the meat on a niche plate ... Recommend having a share portion of vegetables with wedges (ZOMG - what, veges with meat???). Dinner was $600 for 7 people with 3 entrees and a drink each, so it may seem over priced to some, but it's a dining experience...
WOW! Food was AMAZING! Service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic! Definitely returning!
I had the grilled ciabatta with garlic aioli, Yum.
Then the beef empanadas which were huge and very tasty with a side of lettuce and beans, a Lot for a starter.
I didn't order today's special 500 gm ribeye but ordered a 350 gm fillet medium rare, the steak was tender as, it had been aged in house. The side dish was potatoes ( to die for!) and sautéed veges which were very tasty as well. Will definitely be back, specially when they gave me a complementary Port. I had the local Merlot which
Complimented the steak well.
I can not believe the bad reviews for this place. Personally, I couldn't wait to come back again :)
Best steaks in Australia, amazing flavours, very friendly staff.
I love the variety and the amazingly different ways they turn ordinary ingredients into masterful dishes.
I eat out very often and would rate the food as some of the best I have ever had, seriously.
Try it for yourself... I guarantee I will be back many more times... Especially for the Oysters Patricia!
Also known as Norberto's after the owner, originally of Gaucho's and then of Port Road. When you're in the mood for a protein hit (which isn't every day), the steaks are fabulous, as is the home made chimmichurri sauce which you can buy to take home by the bottle. Friendly and fabulous service.
Best Steak. Went with a group for my birthday. The staff were lovely and accommodating and the food was delicious and authentic.
Loved the shared meat grill!! Yes, it was expensive, but it was quite close to an authentic gaucho experience as you can get away from Argentina. Meaning - giblets and blood sausages, etc. Had plenty of sides and we had a hard time finishing my share! Will recommend for a special night out.
Wife & I went for lunch on Friday. Great steaks & service
Good food, but way overpriced. The service is friendly but no where near slick (we found ourselves having to repeat our order to several people, and didn't receive everything that we had ordered). The decor is simple and the atmosphere festive, but its very noisy and in no way gives you the feel of fine dining. This was fine however, but when you then see the outrageously overpriced menu items, both food and wine, it starts to irritate. The food is great; tasty and moorish; loved it~! But the prices are outrageous. If they want to charge so much they should at least improve the service and decor. I actually had a really good time despite that.
Really enjoyed it .... Had the rib eye. Beautiful!!
Quality and with heart!. This is a great place to do lunch! The special lunch menu offers great value. We usually have the rump steak or the pinchitos (beef skewers), both are excellent, great quality local S.A. meat (as enthusiastic carnivores they showed us the cold room....oh yeah!) with beautiful flavour from the grill. Served with loads of patatas (crispy fried potatoes sprinkled with paprika) and their special veg / or salad. The veg is a fantastic stir fry with a touch of honey. The house made chimmichurri and olives are TDF and go sooo well on bread with fresh garlic and Chillies Julia!
Delicious seafood! Was an enjoyable meal with great service.
Best steak restaurant in Adelaide. Had heard about this restaurant from friends and went one sat night. A group of 6 of us had the most fantastic time. Great atmosphere and the food was out of this world! i will be back many times over, I had the Black Angus Scotch and it was the best I have had so far - cant wait to try the other interesting seafood dishes on the menu too!
Good food lover. Loved the total experience, amazing food, cooked to perfection. Friendly, attentive staff. Julia's laugh, priceless!
Went to BA for lunch with some mates. I hadn't known they had a lunch menu, but they do and it was great value. I had skewers which were served with spicy roasted potatoes and salad, generous size and only $15.90. My colleague had the spicy sausage, which was served with the same sides. While waiting we had some bread, while eating the boss lady came to our table and offered us some olives, which had just enough chile on them. The food was well cooked and tasty, definitely going back for lunch and I must revisit for dinner soon too!
Meat. Many species on a plate. Great wine list. 5.7 out of 6
2nd means they try harder. This has all the gauchos flavour, great service with a great feel of safety. AT this place, I feel I not going to get shot. I can't help do red meat at this place every time...but I always see a seafood dish, which makes me say "next time". Next time I see you, I'll be ordering the seafood.
Buenos Aires on Hutt St is the perfect place to take a date or go with a bunch of your mates. This establishment serves a rare medium rare cut of premium quality meat cooked to perfection, but who needs beef. Served on a chopping board is a true test of manliness. The goats leg will satisfy any mans hunger after an hour of surgical-like carving and smothering each chunk in the brilliant sauces available. You will need to book your table and goats leg in advance but it's worth the wait and anticipation. 9.5/10
Excellent Value!. Everything we had here was outstanding. The chef's blood sausage was fantastic! I had one of the largest steaks I have ever seen and it was cooked to perfection and topped with raw chopped garlic. My wife had lamp chops and again, the portion was huge and they were cooked perfectly. It was hot evening so the offer to chill our Greenock Shiraz was much appreciated. Drinking at the right temperature it was the perfect compliment to our meal. Highly recommended!
For main course we decided to try the Paella del Rey which entails a very rustic dish with a selection seafood and meats mixed with rice and vegies. We thought the mixture of flavours were delightful and complimented eachother.

Norberto's Buenos Aires is located on the classy side of town, in fact it is located on Hutt Street. A street on the east side of the city with many nice restaurants and cafes. Norberto is the chef there and he's the first chef to bring Argentinian food to Adelaide.
