When mentioning Cam Wah or Xiu Mai to a local, childhood memories of the tomato soup with fresh chilli, wet dim sum and fresh fried donuts to accompany, come to mind to warm your belly. A tucked away restaurant that hasn’t changed on the outside, with more modern decor recently, in the western suburbs owned by a family that have been making this for longer than I’ve been alive is here, making delicious and authentic Vietnamese and Chinese food. I love coming here when I need that comfort food and it never ever disappoints. Just remember the service is straight to the point and they only take cash so be prepared.
This place is famous for its fried Chinese donuts and wet dim sum and it’s easy to see why. It’s it such good comfort food and always comes out crispy and fresh.
Odd trading hours and cash only. Been around forever and I don't think the menu has changed . Cannot fault the food and I'm always popping in for a quick and tasty meal
You can’t go wrong ordering anything your heart desires at this place and bet it will be good! Ofcourse you have to have the tomato soup with the bread sticks (although I can’t eat them anymore😩) The Pho and basically most the soups I’ve tried have been amazing, when I find their photos I’ll add. This particular time I got the broken rice combo which they do authentically well. Not like the modern versions you tend to get nowadays. This is how it’s done. Great food time and time again!
The dim sim tomato soup is a must every time I’m here. I also order the duck egg noodle soup which is good. Best place for winter comfort food
I love their dim sim soup with Curley doughnuts!! I've been coming here for years and the food is consistent. The premises needs an update. P.s if you need to go to the bathroom, hold it. Trust me.
Amazing food. Been here since I was little and food is still the same old traditional Chinese. Absolutely love their entree especially fried Chinese curlers with dim sim tomato soup
