We ate focaccia, prosciutto & mozzarella bufala, followed by Pizza porcini w/truffle oil, tiramisuā ti finish off ā¦ nearly forgot, a lovely bottle of red from Puglia and a glass of whiskey to finish off a wonderful dinner experience. The word different is normally associated with "bad" but in this case, it couldn't be more wrong. The pizza, specially the dough is different. It has a small percentage (probably in the mid/upper teens) of wholemeal or other flours, and you can taste it. A change like this would see people turning their heads, but this additional helps developed character. The visible reduction of the doughs gluten structure, leading to a softer, more gentle, less aerated slice is balanced by new complex flavours. While authentic might not be the correct description of their pizza, I would dare to say, this is a modern, authentic, pizza.

Tony Niccolini has done a wonderful job with Italian Artisans. The place celebrates the fresh and beautiful Italian ingredients. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and the overall service is impeccable.
We had the antipasto board to share, a Campari spritz of course, pizzas and their beautiful polpette.

One of the best pizzas in Melbourne!!! The quality of the ingredients used are amazing and the dough is exactly what I want in a great pizza 10/10. The salads are a great accompaniment to the meal (I usually go for the Rocket with pecorino sardo, pear and honey). P.S the Pizza San Daniele is a must get if itās your first time there!! Definitely my favourite.

We were shocked that DOC Albert Park was no more, replaced by Italian Artisans! We decided to try it out anyways since we already made the journey, and were very pleased with the result. Their pizzas are very reminiscent of DOC and the ingredients are top notch!
Just as good as DOC in Carlton! The space is beautiful and the food is fresh and amazing - the way pizza should be done. I've also tried the tiramisu, where they use goat's cheese instead of mascarpone and I thought that was really interesting!
Amazing pizza that was definitely the best I've had in Melbourne. I have lived in the area for a while now and have only just discovered this little gem! The special of the day was San Danielle prosciutto pizza with fresh fig and gorgonzola. It was superb! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Really friendly staff. The food is very good. Highly recommended the plate of prosciutti. My partner and I felt like back in Italy. The pizza dough is really good.
Selection of platters were really good love the varieties of cheeses and antipasti. Pizza was good, had their porcini, margarita and the calzone, on the thicker side but it was still delicious. My favourite was still the lasagna and and cannelloni!

Having to attend a performance at Gasworks, it made sense to walk 7 minutes straight to Italian Artisans in Vic Avenue Albert Park. Ā Being BYO we took our wine. Ā We ordered a pizza - prawn and a salad - Caprese. Ā The pizza was wonderful and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Ā The salad was a treat. Ā I love Buffalo Mozzarella and the heirloom tomatoes together with the basil and extra virgin oil was superb. Ā It was simple and delicious. Ā The staff were busy but polite and would not hesitate to return to this restaurant. Ā All lovely Italian staff - well done.
Food is fantastic! All the ingredients used are clearly very fresh and everything is so tasty and delicious. Itās a shame they opened on the other side of the city, hopefully theyāll move to the north side on day!

Amazing place, lovely staff that explained everything and recommended great things. Much more space for seating than the DOC in Lygon st , the back garden and the front outdoor seats.

When great venues start expanding I always get nervous as it can tarnish the reputation of the original if the standards arenāt met. Thankfully doc in Albert park keeps itās Carlton standards here and is easily the best pizza in the area
Really lovely dinner. Had been here quite a few times. Tasty and authentic !! Plenty of food for reasonable prices. Buffalo mozzarella was delicious as well as the DOC pizza !
had a shared meat platter with mozzarella and foccacia which was delicious and probably made this review a 4 but an extra .5 rewarded for the manager wearing a swe through dress
Good quality pizza and salads. The food was delicious, staff friendly and good place for a work function. The restaurant wanted to try and cater for everybody needs and the wine was lovely. The team of work colleagues enjoyed this restaurant and reasonable value for money.
Their pizza tastes just like it does in the Michelin pizzerias in Naples except the buffalo mozzarella on top is cold? Can't imagine why you wouldn't bake that too. It's half the size and twice the price of other great pizzas in Melbourne.
If you're in the top income tax bracket, Go here. You might need more than 1 pizza, though. Also, these types of pizzas need to be eaten immediately, so forget takeaway.
A friend and I were catching up for dinner and she wanted to go to DOC. I'd never been to this branch before but I found it deliciously consistent with the original in Carlton. The pizzas are always super traditionally minimalist with few ingredients but those few ingredients are fresh and of high quality. The place was pumping with electric atmosphere too.
Best pizza in Melbourne in my opinion! Very authentic and love the customer service too! Very authentic Italian experience. Highly recommend!
Friday night pizza @ DOC and as always welcoming service with consistently good pizza. If you like traditional Italian style thin based pizza with quality toppings, then DOC ticks all the boxes.
One of the best pizzas and pastas we ever had! Perfect venue for group gathering and lots of food options for sharing. We loved the pizzas tasty and just the right crust thickness. The lasagna is by far one of the best and the desserts were absolutely spot on too! Can't go wrong with Nutella Calzone and vanilla gelato !
I've been going to DOC for several years and haven't had a bad experience yet! My favourite pizza is the soppressa, it's never let me down š

Pizza was delicious, loved the crust and base of the pizzas. Tasted really authentic and the pizza did not have any boring bits. Flavour combinations was fantastic, really loved the broccoli and pork sausages. The cheese on both pizzas are great, you can really taste that they are not your regular cheeses that you buy from the shops.
Delicious, authentic pizza. Would highly recommend if you're after a nice quality Woodfire pizza. One of my most favourite pizza places in Melbourne.
After wanting to try DOC in Carlton for ages now i finally realise there was another branch 10 minutes from home.
Service was fantastic.. one of the italian guys with the accent is really funny and personable.. he takes the time to sit at your table and actually talk face to face with every single table to take their orders!
Woodfired pizza was okay.. in line with 400 gradi.. which was ok also.. the base was slightly too soggy for my liking. Overall a nice and cosy place, great for couples and large groups. A nice touch to Albert Park !
We have to remind waitress about our drinks and orders a few times apart from that food is always good, lasagna, pizzas, love the cheeses there. Should order pizza for share and it turn soaky quite real quick

I went to DOC for the first time last Wednesday night with a group of friends. Great service, attentive but not too over involved & I thought the pizzas were absolutely delicious. I am pretty fussy pizza wise and might say that these are some of the best I have eaten in Melbourne. Just the right amount of crust with a nice and thin base & a good amount of topping on them. I shared the Soppressa & San Daniele with a friend and couldn't pick a favourite. Some other nice points, you are not sitting to close to other tables, can book and can BYO. Do yourself a favour and head down to DOC!
When you step into DOC it's as if you've transported yourself to Italy. Accents, service and of course the food is authentically Italian and therefore boasts good quality and delicious food. While the pasta and pizza to us is the stand out, the salads and soups are fantastic too!

Wow a very nice pizza. the pizzas are thin and crusty we order it the San Daniele e the Porcini mushroom both pizza was delicious great service as well.
5 stars for Docs! Delicious pizza, busy lively atmosphere, happy customers lingering long after their food was eaten and first class service by all staff. A busy night at Docs on the last night of the public holiday. The restaurant was packed, luckily we got a table straight away. As we walked to our table I checked out what everyone else was eating, the pizzas looked huge. We ordered the pizza cornuto to share with rucola salad which consisted of rocket, pear, honey & pecorino cheese and a bottle of red wine. The pizza was delicious, thin crust, fresh ingredients, tasty hot cacciatore salami and the mozzarella was out of this world!
For dessert we had coffee and shared the sweet goats cheese tiramisu. Of course we will come back, there is so much more on the menu to try.

Couldnt resist taking a bite before giving a rating and taking a photo but DOC produced the goods. Amazing as always. The San Danielle Proscuitto with the san marzano tomatoes and bufalla mozzarella is honestly a combination of the gods.
Albert Park hands down is the better DOC of all locations.!! Staff are super friendly, spend time suggesting menu items..! We always have the San Daniele.. I dont know what ham they put on it, but MY GOODDD... it is soooo goood! for something so simple, a pizza of this and a glass of red that I cannot remember for the life of me.. LIFE IS GREAT... Just had a bad experience at DOC in Mornington. Will never go there again.. But Albert Park I LOVE..
High quality pizza, the staff is very friendly and very welcoming atmosphere. I'll think be back as soon as possible. Pizza di ottima qualitĆ , personale molto gentile ed atmosfera veramente accogliente.
These pizzas are amazing. Thin base, crispy crust, full of flavour and well worth it. The pizzas are huge and after only having eaten a light breakfast in the morning, dinner at 6pm was well worth it. Two pizzas for two people is still heaps of food. We struggled to finish it but we eventually did.
We ordered the San Danele and the Sopressa and my goodness were they fresh. The sopressa was a little (a lot) oily but still it was delicious. The cheese was oozing and the pizzas were salted perfectly.
I also tried a mojito with lemoncello! Amazing. Seriously it was.
DO: The pork sausage, the salami pizza or the lasagna if you're not in the mood for pizza (then why are you here haha?).
DON'T: Leave without ordering the dessert pizza or Nutella calzone.
TIP: A hit with the locals so make sure you come in slightly earlier or later than usual. Great atmosphere and fantastic staff.
Not a big fan of Pizza but they made me into it. It was really fresh and I could'nt help having one piece after another. Had a great night dinning here.

Pizza at doc is awesome. And we're Italian, so we know what we're taking about. The staff is great, artisanal beers are fabulous, desserts are very good. Premises are great. What do you want more?
DOC does consistently great pizzas. The margarita ticks all the boxes, and is whipped up in a flash. Albert Park team are super friendly, always feel welcome and are generous with their pour.
Been here a few times, during summer is the best.
Their platters are better than the other branches and the food is just as good as Carlton & Mornington!

Nice pizzas, really lovely toppings and a cosy, smokey atmosphere in this bustling pizza bar. Not cheap, but authentic and I like the way you can observe the full process of the pizzas being made. The service was quite pleasant, except that I also noticed (as per the previous review) that a mature male staff member appeared to be flirting with a young waitress...

I've been to Doc's Albert Park twice and the experience was similar.
A busy place most days but pretty easy to find a spot for two if you wait a few minutes. Spacious place with heaps of pure Italian dishes, Italians and accessible waiting staff that you don't have to ask twice for the menu or the bill.
We were seated and provided with menus and had enough time to make up our mind. Both pizzas were served within 10 minutes what is a very good achievement considering a full house. The dough was very good with a nice fluffy crust and thin base that was dry on the bottom just as it should be, no oily residues. The ingredients were top notch and the overall eating experience very positive although the flavor or contrast between ingredients could have been a bit better. Reasonably priced for the quality and size of the pizzas compared to leading Melbourne pizzerias.
We love the gushy Italian waiters, and the superb pizzas! Fast, friendly service. Very high quality food. A family favourite. Nice wine list.š“
First time trying D.O.C last night and it was great! Was fairy busy and noisy around 8pm but we didn't really need to wait long to be served and our food didn't take too long to come out either. We ordered the margherita and the calzone, very filling for just 2 of us. Loved the thin crispy base! Served were very friendly. Would probably want to try the Carlton store next time.
You've probably heard about the hype and wondering why the pizza is so good? Everything from the base to the toppings is amazing. Highly recommended.
This pizza is so freaking good. We've been here twice now and I love it. Of course you must want thin crust however, it is not too thin which I do not like as the crust can be "crackery" (new word I just made up) at other places. We got the smoked mozzarella served hot with prosciutto and bread sticks. The San Danielle pizza is topped with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella post cooking. The only reason this gets a 4 rather than a 5 is due to non food related issues like no refill on the water bottle, service a bit slow, etc. But again, bomb azz pizza!!!
I recently attended the Albert Park DOC and I was not disappointed! They have authentic Italian pizza, note this is a pizza restaurant with limited pasta options. Great service too. Bellisimo! š

We came in on the fly and managed to get a seat on a fairly busy night, but the staff have been very attentive and served us well.
The pizzas itself were simple, minimal with excellent toppings that complemented.
Will have to come back to try more of the menu.
Fantastic as always!! Had the salumi platter & Napoletana pizza, shared between two of us. Plenty of food and so delicious. Service was great too, fairly noisy when full but didn't bother us.

Located at stop 31, the second last stop to south melb beach tram no.1 is DOC Pizza. Expensive? Yes. Delicious? Very!
Lovely lazy Saturday lunch at DOC Albert Park!I think I will be visiting again soon. We ordered the Margarita Pizza for the kids, Porcini for hubby and San Daniele for myself. All three pizzas were delicious with thin crust and fresh ingredients. Service was friendly too! It was my son's sixth birthday and he requested pizza...we were nearby and decided to drop in. They brought out some gelato with a candle to help us celebrate his birthday. This gesture was appreciated and it made my son feel very special.
The pizza was awesome here! We had the San Daniele and the Sopressa! Both were delicious! Crispy and thin base and they were overloaded with toppings, just perfect. The prosciutto was amazing. We also had the focaccia with oil and sea salt and the rocket and pear salad. All were really nice. We also had the strawberry and white chocolate dessert pizza, it was absolutely awesome! I walked away feeling very full!
We had dinner there last Friday night and absolutely love their pizza! Beautiful toppings and thin crust! Wine was good too! Service was a bit hot and cold but it maybe the Italian way?
The pizzas are nice but these days you find many great pizza places around. I've found the pizzas to be inconsistent at times and the pick up service has always been an issue due to miscommunication. It's definitely a dine-in type of place.

No very impressed with the pizzas here. Been 4 times and the pizzas were sometimes great, sometimes good and sometimes undercooked. They are thin and crusty but the dough is slightly sweet for my liking. Open from 5pm, earlier than most restaurants in the area. Good for families.
Having been to DOC in Carlton and Mornington, I was excited to see how the Albert Park location would be. It's more spacious than Carlton, with the same kind of energy as all the others. We had to wait for about half an hour around 8pm on Saturday night. Staff were boisterous and often distracted by socialising with customers, which only became mildly annoying when no one was coming to take our orders. Like the other DOC, the focus here is cheese and pizza, so do not visit expecting the typical full blown Italian affair. As expected, cheese took centre stage and was top notch. Can't fault it, but wish there was more on our pizza!
Super noisy and very relaxed. Carlton is also relaxed, but with a greater degree of charm and personality in my experience. Pizza was pretty good, but I don't think I'd spefically cross town to go there. There's a great list of wines by the glass. And they're very accommodating of young kids.
Was pleased with the quality of pizza on offer here having ordered the Pizza San Daniele and Pizza Sopressa which presented fresh, simplistic, and minimal ingredients. The San Daniele was quite mild in flavour which I favoured however I found the Sopressa slightly over-salted. Not a major fault nonetheless, this is somewhat expected with salami pizzas.Ā
Important to note with this restaurant - it is not the same as DOC Espresso in Lygon Street, Carlton, which is essentially part of the same chain. I came to this restaurant anticipating some pasta on the menu however was greeted with essentially three variations of lasagna: meat, veg, child size. If you are committing to this restaurant for lunch or dinner expect to be eating pizza and pizza only... unless you really really like you lasagna.

As soon as you walk in the Italian slams you in the face. A great place with great authentic Italian service. The pizzas are top notch, a little pricy but worth it nonetheless. Their meats and cheese boards are also good but from experience I'd go back for the pizzas.
Saturday 2pm we arrived at DOC Pizza & Mozzarella Bar. We came here for pasta but I mistook the place for DOC Espresso and didn't check the menu. Nevertheless we decided to stay and ordered a couple of pizzas.
Pizza San Daniele andĀ Pizza Soppressa arrived fresh out of the oven and looked beautiful. The San Daniele had whole slices of beautiful fresh roomĀ temperatureĀ prosciutto onĀ each slice that melted in your mouth. The mozzarella was nice and soft but didn't have too much flavour.
The Soppressa pizza was fantastic too. It had fresh salty salami with an awesome pesto paste on it. I really enjoyed both pizzas with their thin crusts and very limited yet flavoursome toppings.
Hands down best pizza in Melbourne! Everything about this place says authentic.. not just the food but the waitresses/waiters too. Always lovely service with a smile, a little more pricier than your average pizza but seriously worth it! Thanks D.O.C x
Best Pizza. Ever. This is without a doubt, the best pizza I've ever had anywhere in the world. The quality, consistency and the most amazing pizza base (thin, chewy and delicious) keeps me coming back for more. I've worked my way thru many pizzas on the menu, and the prawn, speck and mushroom (all separate pizzas, sorry the names escape me) are all fantastic. The black rice and farro salads make for a great side, but a meal here is not complete without a Nutella calzoncino.

Despite most of the tables being occupied we were lucky and scored one straight away!Ā For starters we ordered scamorza (smoked mozarella) with bresaola, which came out on a piece of radicchio and some breadsticks. It was incredible! It's now a few days later and I still think of this dish, that's how special it was. For mains we ordered a Pizza Speck, which had smoked prosciutto, fontina, wild mushrooms & thyme on it and a Pizza ai Procini: wild mushrooms, truffle oil & mozarella in biancowith grated D.O.P. pecorino. Oh wow, both pizzas were amazing.Ā I think if I really had to choose a favourite it would have to be the Pizza Speck, I might just have to go back and try them
