Food and service was great I'll admit a couple of my friends we're challenging with the menu but your staff handled it very well answering all questions even offering a taste from the kitchen (they don't like spicy food) . Very impressive indeed. Only thing was we went on mothers day and my meal being the mother was meant to be free. We got home before realizing we paid full price.
Have been going here since 2009 staff and food are all fantastic highly recommend Taco Bills Altona north to everyone
We ordered the meal, & love everything in it. Tacos good, but the nachos are pretty hard with the melted cheese, and it stuck badly to the container 😅 Other than that, all good. Will order again for sure!
Best night out iv had in ages ! Half price drinks amazing food and good service we will be back - fresh tasty meals and half price food Mon-Wed its a no brainer really 🌵🤗🤗
I always get delivery from here which after tonight I discovered is just as amazing as eating in. My partner & I bought various dishes & all were incredible. Fresh & they also don't use that cheap disgusting cheese that makes lactose intolerance act up. The service is quick, friendly & it is an incredibly clean restaurant. We both have plans to come back & would highly recommend.
Love the atmosphere this restaurant brings to the customers, fast and friendly service as well as a delicious meal. Elisha Hodges and i really enjoyed the fish bowl drinks they have to offer here filled with flavour! will definitely be back again.
"...TACO BILL - THE McDONALDS OF MEXICAN - NOT A BAD THING ~ DO LOVE THOSE FABULOUS ICY TROPICAL MEXICAN SLUSHIES..."
Last night we drove to Altona North to eat "franchise" Mexican and drink "beautiful" Margaritas [both alcoholic and non-alcoholic] at TACO BILL, Blackshaws Road.
1. ENVIRONMENT: A bit rough, but not a prob; Set in off the road on a no longer operating Ten Pin Bowling site; Lots of spaces in the onsite car park: No trees
2. AMBIENCE: Modern building; Clean; Air-conditioned; All the recognizable Taco Bill paraphernalia; 2 big TV's; Quasi open kitchen; Big long bar; Not the busiest.. again a good thing, for us..
3. DRINKS: They've got the lot - inc those giant Pancho Villa 'Fish Bowls' [they come with a complimentary free full size Sombrero]; We had a Tropical Margarita, a Lemon Margarita, a Strawberry Margarita, Strawberry Slushies, Pineapple Mexican Sodas, and MY ALL TIME FAVE - Tropical Mexican Slushies... Wow..!! The flavours packed into these are truly amazin'..!!
4. FOOD:
- NACHOS SUPREMOS - a big 'large' serve - lots of Melted Cheese; good Guacamole [looked fresh..? still not sure though..? is it the real thing or a mix with long-life avocado paste..? ah well, it does kinda taste pretty okay..], generous with the 'spicy' Tomato Salsa and 'fresh' Sour Cream - yum..!!
- QUESADILLA DELGADA - a Beef one and a Chicken one - not my favourite dish - kinda feel like it lacks flavour somehow.. hardly worth ordering, really..
- TAQUITOS - again, a Beef and a Chicken - again, not a favourite - crunchy, but a bit tasteless, and so dry, on the inside..
- FAJITAS - 3 serves - a Beef, a Chicken, and a Mixed - love this dish..!! - they arrived SERIOUSLY SIZZLING and very generously sized - soft flour Tortillas were fresh, and nice and warm - Shredded Lettuce was fresh - Guacamole was tasty - SORRY TACO BILL.. just can't eat that Mexican Rice.. absolutely without any tiny twincy flavour whatsoever.. still can't work out why..? I mean it's got colour, onion, green and red capsicum, but no flavour, and I mean 'NO FLAVOUR'.. a real quandary, this one..?
- MEXICAN CHOCOLATE MOUSSE - 2 serves - loved the Mousse, but only after scooping off '6 OR 7 CMS' of that White Cream - please, please, please just twink this dessert a little..!! serve it with ONE tablespoon of cream on top and if you want to give it height, just poke a Chocolate Striped Poco Stick into it, or a Cocktail Paper Umbrella..
- FLAN DE QUESO - 1 serve - this dessert looked fab.. they'd even written 'taco b' with chocolate sauce around the rim of the big white plate.. BUT, I found it INEDIBLE..!! - it looked like a large Creme Caramel, but it's texture was hard and stodgy.. not at all nice on the palate.. and the flavour..? all I can say is it was 'very, very strange'..!!
5. SERVICE: Couldn't fault them, really; Crew were helpful, friendly and attentive; Meals were pretty quick to table.. you wouldn't want them any faster.. you wouldn'a been able to get through them, otherwise..; All good
6. COST: We took a deal [they've got lots a different deals going.. you shouldn't have to pay menu price for anything.. at the moment..] - Set Menu for 3 persons: $76 - Drinks extra: 9 drinks, 3 alcoholic and 6 non-alcoholic cost $54
We were pretty well fed, and amazingly well watered for just under $44 each... Yes.. we'll be back.. I really can't stay away from those MEXICAN SLUSHIES for too long.. especially not this time of year...!!!
Visited on Friday 8 January 2016 for Dinner for three.
This is a great go to place for an inexpensive meal and well priced drinks/ The food is always fresh and we really love their fajitas. The meals are large and we normally share a serve of fajitas with an extra portion of tortillas.
They always start you off with a complimentary bowl of spicy salsa and corn chips and I can never go past their frozen margaritas, which at $10 each is great value.
They always have a deal on offer, either discounted food or drinks and this makes it a popular venue for locals.
Excellent family restaurant. Food is fresh and mostly comes out pretty quickly. Very friendly owner and staff.
Fresh & quick. Dined here last night with a mate... Very busy on cold night... Food quality was excellent and came out very quick... Will be back for amazing special and quality of food.
Made me feel like I was dining at a family surburban restaurant, was actually a pretty good meal for 1/2 price Monday (also tues and wed), but a complete rip off if it was full price. Worth a try early in the week
A good half price option on Mon-Wed but I probably wouldn't bother otger nights. It's not Mamasita or Touché Hombre but an honest feed and a better alternative to the usual fast food suspects. Staff are always pleasant too
