Highly recommend! First date night out with our 2 week newborn at home and it exceeded all our expectations!! We have wanted to try Hayashi since moving to the area and we will definitely be regulars. Amazing service by Alicia! So friendly, attentive and kind. What a gem, clone her please, how hospitality staff should be the food was incredible too. Such a special evening. Thank you team Hayashi xxx
Wow what an amazing Japanese restaurant. We have been to a lot of restaurants and Hiyashi is by far one of our tops. Food are all in great portion size and the environment sets a soothing and relaxing ambience. All staff were friendly and attentive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I've been here twice with some colleges and with my partner, the first time was very nice everything hot and they added some potato mash and soup to the food. Second time the place was busy no soup and the food was cold, my partner a very enthusiastic of Japanese culture didn't like it. Maybe I would give it another chance.
Been here several times over the years. The sashimi is generally fresh and price is reasonable as well. The bento box are good value for money.
We went on a Sunday evening, quite early. We had a couple of different Bento boxes, a salmon and a beef, with some regular starters. Absolutely delicious, filling and very fast service.
Had a pleasant dining experience here though some dishes was a bit of a letdown. Most enjoyable dishes were the Salmon Aburi Roll, Assorted Tempura and Beef Tenderloin Teppanyaki. The Salmon Aburi Roll was bursting with beautiful tasting fillings, while the beef was cooked well, exactly to our request- medium rare. Tempura pieces were light, crunchy and served with some green tea salt. However, we were quite disappointed with the Beef Tataki and desserts. Though Beef Tataki was fresh, it was lacking some seasoning. With desserts, the Japanese Cheesecake didn't have the moist, cotton-soft texture that is should have. Instead, it was hard and solid; probably due to it being kept in the freezer prior serving. Black Sesame Pudding tasted decent, but nothing special. Prices are on the steeper end, which some dishes didn't quite justify it. Nonetheless, setting is lovely and service is good.
I ordered the Crispy Fish curry Don it was tasty and the service was really friendly but a little slow. If your coming in a group during work hours you can pre-order your food.
Tried this place for the first time. My favourite dishes were the salmon katsu, lotus chips and the yaki udon. The salmon katsu was fried to perfection, salmon was still moist inside and it was matched well with the dipping sauce. The yaki udon was yummy and with good flavours. The lotus chips were crispy and served well with the rest of the food we ordered. We also ordered the Urakasumi sake tasting platter consisting of 3 little glasses of Sake with alcohol content ranging from 20% to 35%. Enjoyed my dinner here. Though disappointed the desserts we ordered had already run out.
We have been here many times and the food is always incredible, topped off with excellent service and reasonable prices. Definitely one of my favourite Japanese restaurants!
Really good service, the waiter was very friendly and professional, I felt like I was in a really fancy high quality place! Food service could have been a bit faster, everything tasted great though. My boyfriend was celebrating his birthday and the waiter even gave him a small birthday gift afterwards! And they even commented on our photo on Facebook after! This restaurant made me feel special :)
Really so yummy and so professional. I love the beef tataki most. The serve is nice too. I would definitely come again and introduce to my friends.
Second visit here. Pretty good Japanese food and friendly service
Entrees: assorted sashimi, soft shell crab both ok
Mains: tempura udon, yaki udon both brilliant
