I liked the atmosphere of the place. Came with family and they all had fun. The food was alright and filling. They all participated in the fun games by the teppanyaki chef. When you get a good one, it is a good night! The one we had was great. A lot of skills shown in cooking and performing. Made my family happy.
Teppanyaki is one of the biggest competition in the food industry in melbourne. We got a groupon voucher and tried this place out the staff were really friendly. Food was expected as normal. Midiocre teppanyaki. But good atmosphere
We come to this restaurant for lunch today is the second time, still same quality of food and the service is very good, the staffs are very friendly and attentive, I’ll come back. I recommend it to everyone
We had lunch with family, using Groupon voucher and paid $99 for 2 people and 11 course. It is not busy at all for lunch time actually we are the only table during the whole time. The service is friendly, food was ok, but not meeting 5 star standards. However Chef Phil was absolutely a star! Phil is a young Korean chef, he is very interactive with clients. He plays with flame, knife, and throwing fried eggs and rice, we have to catch with either mouth or small ball. We dropped a lot and made a mess, but family and daughter laughed so hard. It was such a pleasant lunch, kids friendly. Will come back if Phil is there.
Visited this place tonight, my partner and I had the Shogun set and it was absolutely terrific! The food was so fresh and full of flavour, and the chef was very engaging and wonderful. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Aya Teppanyaki’s customer service is top-notch! After booking for a table online, I received a call the next morning to finalise my booking details. Due to unexpected reasons, I did a last minute cancellation over the phone, although the call didn’t go through, the restaurant returned my call 5 minutes later (very attentive customer service). The lady over the phone was extremely helpful and friendly, I was able to modified my booking, changing it to another day.
Will and I both got the ‘Shogun Set’ which consisted of lobster tail, abalone, cod fish, Wagu beef and the usual entrées. Unfortunately Will being the unhealthy person he is, was “allergic” to shellfish, so lobster was kindly swapped for more meat by the staffs.
The highlight of the night was of course our wonderful chef (PO). He was exceptionally fun, attentive, outgoing, engaging, creative, talented and very entertaining to watch. Po went above and beyond my expectations, creating an unforgettable night with his ‘happy birthday’ salt message to Will at the end. On top of delicious food, the service we received today was outstanding! Our night was filled with food comas and joy!
We had a great time over dinner last week. The food was delicious especially the wagyu beef! Service was great and the chef was very entertaining. Worth it!
good fun with kids for a birthday. the teppanyaki chef was very skilful, funny and entertaining. food was good especially the wagyu was delicious. good service. we used groupon coupons. definitely worth coming for something different
I had a lovely experience at Aya Teppanyaki on Saturday evening. I was part of a group of 5 and we were looked after well by staff and our chef made our experience really good, with lots of laughs.
I got the Yokozuna Set which was great.
For entree I went for the mixed sashimi platter and wagyu beef tataki. My favourite part was the tuna.
Mains consisted of a king prawn, salmon fillet, 2pcs scallop meat, a lamb cutlet and premium wagyu beef (cooked medium). I enjoyed all of the mains, but my favourites would have to of been the salmon and scallop meat - both cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious.
The mixed special fried rice was also really good.
Great value for money and a great feed - I would highly recommend to family/friends and I would return again.
Best teppanyaki around with good quality fresh ingredients and the for the price its worth it. Been here once in 2016 and been back already a few times just for there food and service. Will continue to be back.
Always a great experience at Aya Teppanyaki. Good value, generous portion sizes, tasty dishes and a bit of entertainment should you want the teppanyaki chefs to put on a show. Great little gem in the suburbs.
Wonderful experience and delicious food! Loved the skills the chefs used to prepare the food. Entertainment + amazing food all in one.
One of the best Teppanyaki we have dine in. Kim (proud pinoy) was a very good chef, entertaining, accommodating and friendly actually the whole staff.
Wagyu Set was the best, a bit costly $$ but worth it.
Recommended to visit.
Went here for our work Christmas party, and had the most wonderful time! Our chef Michael was so talented and engaging, and the food was phenomenal! 10/10 will definitely be back!
Great night out for our son's 18th birthday. It was a great place to go seeing as we hadn't taken them to a teppanyaki restaurant before. Food and atmosphere both highly recommended
It’s an Unique culinary experience for us and we really had a great time and the food is super delicious
A very fun experience
Food quite fresh and our chef is very funny.
I think overall its a good place to go for celebrations but food could use more seasoning as its a bit bland. Lastly the fried rice is a bit disappointing, its too bland and filling for the last dish. Ive noticed a lot of other patrons leave it untouched too. Maybe change it to fruit or icecream?
Will certainly come again though!
Thank for the chef for celebrate my sister coming to melb with, it make new experienced, food taste also good. Spoiler if you 18+ order the ages josun sake it dam good
