We love Habitat! Awesome food, fabulous service from lovely staff, and the coffee is next-level sensational. This is the quintessential Melbourne café experience at its finest. Highly recommend!
I've had three scrumptious brunches there and when I thought I'd found my fave I had the crispy salmon! Thank you for breathing new life into the old Alamein shopping centre, I raised my kids around the corner and have watched your progress from day one. You're spot on with all your choices and it's the best coffee I've ever had! Classy but unpretentious, you will do very well I'm sure.
Able to discover this place through google search. The coffee is just perfect and always at the right temperature🥰 definately would eat in when they reopen.
Tucked away on a relatively quiet suburban street corner, Habitat knows how to put on a good brunch. I had the falafel bowl (pictured) and my friend had the green breakfast. Both dishes were so fresh and the flavours were brilliant 😍
Will definitely be back to try something else!
Great coffee and friendly staff. The food was tasty and they cater very well to kids. Love and appreciate the environment-consciousness of the business.

This little cafe in a quiet shopping strip is such a gem! The staff are friendly, they have high chairs, kids menu and a toy box for kids.
We ordered a sesame avocado w kale and eggs (changed from poached to fried) and added a side of spinach. The whole plate came out looking fresh, plentiful and healthy! The sesame crusted avocado tasted delish, the eggs are beautifully cooked. The only complaint I had was the kale was drenched in oil, hence the 4 ⭐️ rating.
The soy chai was made w real spices, and cake with a strainer so you won’t get bits of spice in your tea. Love that they gave me honey 🍯 to sweeten the chai rather than the usual sugar which many cafes uses.
I would love to visit again!
Food was delicious and uniquely presented and beverages exceeded expectations.(Great to have my meal served without the mandatory sour dough.) would love to see a bit more work done on decor but much less important than the food and vibe.
Re-visited this friendly little cafe this morning for breaky - with a steady stream of locals getting take away coffees making the place seem packed and lively despite it being well off busy high st. Definitely worth a visit
Loved the kids menu options, much more choice and variety available for the little ones! Good coffee and hot chocy.
We had the wild mushrooms, smashed avo & a kids hot cake - the dishes were delicious until about half way through when the mouthfuls became heavy and a bit meh - I feel that more complexity in the meal (different textures and tastes) would alleviate this so the patron could mix up components to continue to create interesting mouthfuls.
Excellent menu, prices, variety, specials, opening hours and staff. We are so glad to find this little gem of a cafe that’s slightly off the beaten track but doing things 100% better than its nearby main street competitors. Keep up the great work! We’ve eaten here 10+ times now and never been disappointed!

The staff are friendly, the location is great, the atmosphere and vibe is amazing - love the decor!!
As for the food, it’s delicious! The menu is varied with plenty of vegan options. Coffee is great too!!
The team is friendly. Coffee is great! Has decking area at the back for warmer weather. Kids friendly too. A basket of toys and books for the little ones. One of the best local cafes. Situated not far from train station, Ashburton shops and the beautiful Markham Reserve.
Secret location , staff are friendly over there ! Don't expect food are amazing here , but at least above average. Soy latte is good here , if you are soy lover, you don't have to worry much.
Wow! Best toastie ever! This lovely neighbourhood cafe really lifts above the average with some delicious interpretations of brunch classics eg, waffles, avi on toast, brekkie burrito, egg & bacon roll, etc. Nothing crazy, just really, really tasty. Nice smiley service and excellent coffee as well.
a cosy and friendly neighborhood cafe with a good range of food options and a list of specials 😊 really enjoyed the tomato and funnel soup, my friends ordered chilli scramble egg which was also yummy! tumeric latte was a heart-warming drink with bunch of health benefits, especially for winter🤗 walking distance parkings are available, booking recommended if you are going on a weekend but usually there will be seats available shortly. enjoy your visit! ☺
If you’re ever at the Ashburton soccer field and in need of a morning coffee ..it’s a lovely 8 min walk to this little cafe Just the perfect almond latte .. and GF orange cake 😁…thanks guys !

Worth your money. I'm not that in to salads, but the Rainbow Bowl they call, has become my favourite❤️ and the chocolate and almond latte are delicious! The staff are very friendly as well.
