Never been in before, what a hidden gem, what a great breakfast. Had a lovely cappuccino with long spoon to dig out the chocolate at the bottom of the mug. 42 degrees outside, nice and air conditioned comfort inside, great big breakfast - big juicy mushrooms, chorizo and grilled tomatoes all yummy. Bacon great and poached eggs lovely and runny, great breakfast. Only downside - no ages, only herald suns, but still a 5. Good fast friendly service, will def be back, best breakfast I've had for a long while. Mind you, for $23 you'd expect all that. No old lady, all friendly young staff eager to please.
I've had a few warm meals here and they've all been very good. I had the beef burger and that was excellent, it's not cheap but probably comparable with what you pay at Grilled, but I found the quality very comparable. They are very hospitable with their customer service. You get to read the paper, and they bring you a bottle of water which is a nice touch. Regarding the average cost for two being approx $45 - I'd have to disagree - it should be less than that.

Quiet place to read paper. Not so flash. No need to queue hey? But they do have a LOYAL stream of customers coming through.

Great little cafe. Awesome service and humongous portions for the price. My partner ordered the Charsiu pork burger which came with delicious chips and I had the Thai beef salad. The burger was not my cup of tea (partner liked it fine) but the salad was well-balanced and tasty. Not too vinegary, salty or sweet. Bonus - we ordered a friand as the lady was processing our payment and instead of canceling and adding the price for the friand, the owner/manager gave it to us for free! Very pleasant experience, will definitely be back.
Great little cafe - coffee was really nice, and the breakfast menu is quite imaginative. I definitely will be back to try the BLT! Keep it up guys!
I live in Glen Iris and found a good local cafe that has the best coffee in Ashburton. Cheap and good tasting coffee. I regularly get coffees from here and have never had a bad one. I also find it hard to resist the homemade muffins.
New Look and Good Coffee. I've been going to this cafe for a few years now, I can't say I've ever has a bad coffee its always consistently good. Recently they've changed the decor big improvement. On my last few visits I've not been able to pass on the BLT... VER NICE!!
I had the beef burger and boy was it good. It came with chips. Great value. Coffee was great. Service was also good. The interior could do with some improvement but at the end of the day who cares as long as the food is good and I had a good meal.
I thought milano's is an excellent little cafe. though the interior design could use some work, the service was excellent, and the food and drunk were delicious and well priced. we very much enjoyed our time there!
Two of us came to Milano Espresso Bar in Ashburton on a Wednesday for lunch. We ordered the soup of the day, homemade pie with chips and salad, and an iced chocolate. The food was delicious, not too expensive, served in a timely manner, and the customer service was excellent. Thank you very much :)
