Took my partner here during a scorcher of a weekend. The Outfield Cafe team were distributing free watermelon slices for their customers as well as to the local cricket team that was playing at the time. Despite the heat we enjoyed a great lunch time meal consisting of the 'Park Bowl' and the 'Classic Cheeseburger'. The 'Park Bowl' was a salad bowl with three types of peas. The peas were refreshing and well-seasoned - small bursts of flavour in the mouth that was not too over-powering. The cheeseburger was as it should be, soft buns with a juicy beef paddy that was cooked perfectly. The service team that day was excellent and cheerful, despite the hot 38 degree weather. We also enjoyed the picture book displayed on the table depicting the history of cricket in Australia. A wonderful day was made thanks to the team at Outfield Cafe, Ashfield.
We had been keen to visit this cafe for some time now, for the menu we had read about online sounded very appealing. We took the opportunity for a catch up with friends to visit Outfield as the cafe’s vision and approach aligns with our perspective in regards to the use of fresh and healthy ingredients prepared well. We also like their an environmental focus.
Outfields is set on the edge of a park, overlooking an open, grassy field. It’s an ideal spot to bring the family - the kids can play in sight while parents can enjoy coffee and a bite on the lawn on cafe-supplied picnic rugs.
Ordered a huge selection of sandwiches, canapes and fruit platter for my wife's baby shower and let me tell you it knocked the socks of our guests! They LOVED everything! Fresh, tasty and quality food!
Caleb was very helpful helping me with suggestions and the team were very helpful on the day of collection (for my brother). Overall very pleased with the Outfield team and quality of the order! THANKS OUTFIELD TEAM!
Cute spot! I went to eat in with a friend on a hot day. It's feels like a self service cafe, given you order at the counter, find your own table and get your own water. I ordered the avo on toast and I wish the portion sizes were bigger! It was tiny, but the food and coffee was delicious
Great Covid cafè. Just a great cafè in general, yet they have stepped it up a notch for Covid times. I got their open salmon number and their b & e roll, both were absolutely delicious! Their pastries are worthy of the calories. They have a top-notch store set up to buy all of your basics and their mind blowingly good pickles, jams and sauces. They also had a make your own burger pack, these were bang on. Dinner was easy and delish. Get on board with this place, they are well worth supporting during these times. The service is always super friendly also and when you can bring the family out again they have loads of stuff for the kidlets to do while you get a well deserved feed.
Best coffee I’ve had in months. Care taken with it and not rushed. Also polite staff who converse with you and a great atmosphere right on the park. Highly recommended.

The inner west cafe’s name is apt, for it is in the “outfield” of a cricket pitch in Yeo Park. Ample parking without restrictions makes for the perfect cafe catch up.
Promoted as a modern take on picnic food, you can eat in or grab a rug and sit outside. It
Would be great to do so with a game of cricket on in the background. But since we were visiting on one of Sydney’s scorcher days, we chose to sit inside in the air conditioned space. The trendy little spot is a bit mod in its decor, with little porthole windows and cool art adorning the walls.
We love a cafe with good coffee and especially those that use interesting blends.
Outfield use a specialty blend roasted by CRS (Collective Roasting Solutions), STITCH beans, and you can also buy beans to go if you want to try them at home. We begin our visit with coffees and enjoyed a milk based coffee which was beautifully smooth, as well as a filter coffee. The cafe rotates single origins for black and filter coffee. If we lived nearby, we’d get coffee regularly here.
Food wise, their seasonal menu has so many dishes we’d happily order like the warm pumpkin loaf or pumpkin wedge salad, both of which we must return for! We made our choice as to what we most wanted, including the sautéd mushrooms with farro, corn custard, spring herbs, poached egg on sourdough. The mushrooms were beautifully sautéed and all the flavours worked so well together.
The most delicious meal was the “king of spin” - small diced pieces of lemon myrtle cured kingfish, pickled radish, herb salad, labneh and a poached egg. So fresh, healthy and something we’d certainly order again.
They have a few open style sandwiches served on Nonie’s charcoal bread (favourite of ours), as well as rolls, bowls and burgers. There’s plenty of over the counter pastries if you’re just after a takeaway.
We love that the store also sells products such as pickled vegetables, reusable bags and coffee cups.
We love this place and I’m sure you will too.
Our group had some excellent coffees (the batch filter coffee was awesome) and yummy gluten free sweets. The service was attentive and friendly, the food menu looked great so will be back for brunch next time!
Such a beautiful cafe!! Loved the location and the interior. you can also order take away to eat on the grass, so come down for a picnic :)
Fresh modern cafe in the 'outfield' of Yeo Park. Bright and inviting decor and yet once you grab your coffee, the adjoining park pulls you outside again.
Great coffee from Stitch Coffee with friendly service.
Highly recommend the Big Bash - potato hash with spiced pumpkin, avo and poached egg. Super tasty!
The bread is a-mazing! Locally sourced and so delicious.
You can borrow a cafe picnic rug and turn your cafe visit into an impromptu picnic. Am keen to return to try all the other temptations on the menu.
