Just ideal. Warm, helpful and attentive staff; excellent food choice and in real life the food was delicious. SO many cute little spots to choose from. Couldn't recommend it more!! Hadn't been there in a while, no reason other than I rarely leave my suburban bubble nearby, so am even more impressed now I have reason to be. Will def go again. xo
Gemma makes the best chai latte in town! Treehouse use actual chai not powder <3 The food is always amazing, especially the chips! Friendliest staff. Love coming here.
There are lots of breakfast / brunch meals on the menu and a few lunch meals. We loved the chicken burger as it had lots of flavour and was a good size.
The staff were very friendly towards us and our dog and gave our dog a bowl of fresh water.
I'd been meaning to check out Treehouse Lounge for quite sometimes as I'm local and I'm really glad I did!
The ambience of the cafe is lovely, modern and spacious. There's lots of greenery throughout, obviously resembling a treehouse which is super cool. Staff were friendly yet not over the top, and my order came out very quickly.
I ordered the Smashed Avocado which was delicious. The avocado was seasoned well and had a nice lemony taste. The chilli oil on the side was a unique touch to this classic- my only complaint is I would have liked more! Portion size was great too - I was full for hours.
Will definitely be back to see what else Treehouse has to offer!
Wow I really enjoyed this place. The decor was awesome and a lot of greenery just like a treehouse surrounding! Even the path to the toilet had forest wallpaper leading to it - Love everything about this place!
We started off with a hot chocolate, coffee and matcha latte. The hot chocolate was a bit light in flavour which is good since it is not overly sweet. The matcha latte was mesmerising to watch - the powders from the froth/foam on top kept 'raining' down as it falls to the bottom. First time I've seen this in a matcha!
We ordered the following plates:
TIRAMISU WAFFLE - with mixed berry coulis, lemon curd and pecan crumble and fresh berries - Wow this dish was like so pretty! The waffles seemed to have some 'pearl sugar' in it as it was particularly crunchy in one bites. Loved this type of waffle. I didn't even notice the lemon curd being too sour as the flavours are balanced so well and complemented each other.
TREEHOUSE BENEDICT - Potato and leek croquette, slow cooked beef brisket, poached egg, chipotle hollandaise and beetroot puree - I really liked the potato and leek croquette - it was really smart to put the leek in it as plain potato might seem too much like a hash brown. The beef brisket was so tender and full of flavour, which was best eaten with the poached egg yolk. Loved this dish!
FRIED CHICKEN BURGER - Asian slaw, onion rings, American cheddar, sriracha aioli with fries on a brioche bun - OMG this was massive, like so huge that you need two hands (or four) to help eat it lol. The chicken was really crispy but I think a bit dry? However, that was balanced with the melted strong cheese taste. The fries were way too addictive!
The owner had a bright smile and the staff and service was great!
Thank you Treehouse Lounge, loved this breakfast!
In the beautiful suburb of Balaclava, on a busy corner, Treehouse Lounge is a fabulous cafe that has a not just great food and coffee, but a lot of heart too. The venue is large with several different areas. Large windows open up to allow plenty of natural light down one whole wall. Timber furniture and homely touches and greenery make this a cosy space despite it's size. Greeted by beautifully friendly staff, we soon had amazing coffees before us while we perused the extensive menu.
So many great choices, but we decided on three dishes that were all enticing. The mushrooms were so fabulous, that words really don't describe how good they were. Beautifully sauteed juicy mushrooms sit atop a large slab of fried polenta... so cheesy!! A stunning pesto, and whole half an avocado added not just delicious flavour, but a pop of colour to the plate, and a touch of creaminess to the texture of the dish. Just so delicious.
I couldn't resist the Middle Eastern breakfast. A beautifully presented plate of amazing goodies. Chorizo, poached eggs, haloumi, tabbouleh, grilled tomato and a jar of hummus with grilled pita. This is my kind of dish as I love lots of bits and pieces, and each of them was so tasty. The salty haloumi and chorizo complemented the zesty taboulleh and tomato, and the eggs were perfect.
Wanting to finish on a sweet note, I decided on the berry and rose Nana bowl, which is essentially a smoothie bowl. The smoothie was so thick and creamy, and the taste was sublime. So refreshing and tangy, this will be a perfect summer brunch dish. Topped with loads of nutty granola which gave lots of crunch to the bowl, this Nana bowl was amazing and I can't wait to try the other flavours.
With very full tummies, we left Treehouse Lounge more than satisfied. The service was top notch and the space, lovely and comfortable. Other locals were enjoying the relaxed ambience and fantastic dishes too, proving that this stunning cafe has what it takes to keep patrons returning for more delicious food and friendly service.
Treehouse Lounge is a spacious modern looking cafe located in the heart of Balaclava, on the corner of Carlisle Street, Balaclava. They offer variety of typical brunch dishes in addition to some other interesting Mediterranean style menu and side dishes. Weāre excited to visit and couldnāt wait to find out how good their food is.
Yay: Matcha Latte, Mango Smoothies, Carlisle Street Shrooms, Treehouse Benedict
Nay: N/A
We popped in to Treehouse Lounge for a late lunch in the ever popular Carlisle Street In Balaclava. We started with a malty smooth Inglewood coffee before deciding on a trio of dishes.
Today we ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast, the Treehouse Benny and the Tiramisu Waffles.
The Mediterranean Breakfast was a tasty tasting plate of goodness that delivered delicious silky pumpkin hummus, squeaky haloumi, fresh tabouli salad, a giant sweet baked tomato, sujuk sausage and flat bread. We absolutely loved the pumpkin hummus on this dish.
Treehouse Benedict was a multi layers stack potato and leek croquette, that was served with a great accompaniment of sweet earthy beetroot, beef brisket and a lovely chipotle hollandaise. Eggs were a firm poach which we appreciated for a change.
The Tiramisu Waffle, was a coffee lovers dream, the strong espresso was banging with flavour and the texture of eating the soft rich tiramisu on the crunchy waffles was sublime. This dish came with a sweet lemon curd that was not really needed as a flavour element but did make the dish present well. We did love the pecan crumble which added texture and flavour that worked with the coffee in this dish.
The new owners of Treehouse Lounge are about to celebrate 1 year in operations and we are excited to see how this place evolves further. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
Despite working quite literally around the corner from Treehouse Lounge, I hadnāt yet visited - and boy have I been missing out. A large cafe which sits on prime real estate on the corner of Carlisle St sits Treehouse Lounge which serves up great brunch/lunch fair.Ā
I arrived early to settle in and also peruse the menu which had so many good options. My friend arrived soon after and we were both debating on what to order whilst we sipped on our coffees. The owner Leon introduced himself and guided us through some standout dishes and also some new menu items that they had just released that week for Spring.Ā
We ended up having the Carlisle St Shrooms Dish - with whipped goats cheese, kale, basil pesto, truffle foam and a poached egg on GF corn bread and the SautĆ©ed Cauliflower dish with Kale, Tahini Yoghurt, quinoa, Mixed Seeds, Zaatar and mixed Herbs + a sneaky side of mushroom and spinach sides.Ā
Our dishes didnāt take long to come out and they were presented beautifully. It didnāt take long for us to be ummm-ing and ahhhh-ing at each other as our dishes were so well-balanced, flavourful and delicious that we hardly spoke in between bites. Both plates were cleaned up in record time, and we were very satisfied with out choices. We wished we had room to share a much talked about smoothie bowl but we shall save that for next time.Ā
Highly recommended - great, cool, large space and a delicious menu to match. Plenty of options to suit all tastes and flexible to cater to VG/GF/DF needs.
I love any excuse to visit Balaclava - especially when my destination is as good as this. Treehouse Lounge is a large cafe with heaps of vegan and vegetarian options - there are modification options for nearly every dish.
It was so hard to choose what to get but I went for the Mediterranean breakfast, featuring large, soft falafel instead of sujuk. The haloumi drew me to this dish, but every component it included was great. Haloumi also drew me to the corn and zucchini fritters, which were a bit fibrous but nicely flavoured with beautifully charred leeks and romesco.
I got coffee to accompany meal as well as the cafe's special banana smoothie bowls. The peanut butter, banana and salted caramel flavour was unbelievably thick and large and filing. It was so much, I had to take some home. I would gladly revisit Treehouse Lounge for this dish alone but surely wouldn't be able to leave without trying a few more.
With great service, good coffee and fantastic food at the heart of Treehouse, thereās nothing not to love about this cafe. A unique menu which includes classic breakfast dishes with a fun twist and creative innovative new dishes; thereās something for everyone. Its bustling vibe is a testament to its quality
I started out devastated as the menu had changed and my selection was no longer available BUT it meant I chose this AMAZING NanaBowl instead! Photos had initially put me off as it didnāt seem like enough crunch for all the smoothie bowl, but thatās not even a problem and this dish was absolutely delicious! Smooth but thick, flavoursome with a great nutty crunch top š, and peanut butter - winning šš
Lovely service and the coffee was fantastic, nice and strong, a great visit all around!
