This was a really good experience in Ballarat. We have found very few vegetarian options in Ballarat so it was great to find this restaurant that offered a broad range of vegetarian options at reasonable prices. The drink options are diverse and the food was fresh and care taken with its preparation.
Only vegan place in Ballarat and I'm so happy that it's INCREDIBLE FOOD!!!! Beautiful people that work there, always so welcoming and such a great atmosphere. Incredible food, my absolute favourite.
One of our favourite places in Ballarat, we have been dining here for years! However it has changed the last couple of times we have gone. Once our order was forgotten and Steve took care of it, so unless Steve is there the place doesn't run so smoothly.
Food!!!The mock pork with rice is amazing, tempura with wasabi sauce and rice paper Vietnamese roll is amazing. Which ever dish we have had has been delicious. However I think the chef in the kitchen has changed in recent times and food isn't consistent now.
Parking in the street is a little straining (since the council has changed the road and new restaurants are coming in).
Make sure you know the operating hours to avoid disappointment, call them and reserve a table.
Now I'm on restrict diet now. So I miss our nights at Chat for Tea

Chicken Nugget, Satay Chicken Skewer, teppanyaki chicken and steak! Wish they have another outlet in Melbourne.
This cute little restaurant is a must visit for anyone who appreciates delicious vegetarian and vegan food! The owner is lovely as are all of the staff. Order the gyoza, it's a spiritual experience.
As a vegan living in Ballarat it's so wonderful to have Chat for Tea close by! Delicious, well-priced meals, relaxed environment, and friendly customer service. The best soy nuggets going around!
Even of you're a meat eater it's worth considering. The many vegetarian options will suit most tastes. Go in with an open mind that's all and you will have fun.
Consistently good food. I have eaten at Chat for Tea several times, always great food and service. Although I'm personally not a fan of mock meats, the other dishes are delicious.
BEST FOOD IN BALLARAT!. Chat For Tea is the yummiest food around! Everything on the menu is delicious and it is great to have an option for us vegetarians. I have only ever heard great things from others about the food as well. My favourites are Teppanyaki Noodle, Green Curry Noodle Soup, Mock Duck, Soy Nuggets, Ma Zen Noodle and Passionfruit Snow! As well as the brilliant food and tasty tea (try Morning Dew) the customer service is of a brilliant standard and every time we visit this fine restaurant we always leave feeling great. Thanks for the best food in town!
Great food, even for non vegetarians!!. Really delicious range of teas and meals, Staff are so friendly and a real homely feel. Have been over ten times and tried every dish. Huge Fan and I'm normally a total carnivore. The big recommendation is the soy nuggets - like KFC for vegetarians!!
