Vanilla slice was amazing!! Had a sausage roll which was also good, wife had a pie, she said was amazing! She also ordered custard tart which she thought was nice too! We are not locals but stopped here by chance and can't recommend it enough!

Busy bakery in Ballarat. We were craving Sausage rolls and needed a fix so we headed here. The sausage rolls and pie were ok, I guess like your typical small bakery sausage rolls but nothing special. The vanilla slice was good.

Visiting Ballarat and needed a pie and slice fix. Agree the vanilla slices are worth the 2 trips I’ve made to the bakery during our stay. Busy shop so be prepared to wait but I can assure you it’s worth the effort.

Long live the king of French Vanilla slice! Yeah bought a tray of 4, and only 2 of them made it out of Ballarat alive. Somebody had icing sugar spilt all over his car and down the front of him, I wonder who that was? Seriously good food overall and their prices are great.

We've been getting profiteroles from Kings Bakery for a few years now and they're amazing. I've recently tried their Vanilla slice and Kings Bakery have stepped into the top spot for getting a Vanilla slice in Ballarat.
Simply elegant! Great place to visit if you enjoy baked goodies.

One of the best country bakeries. Love their famous vanilla slice and profiteroles. My favourite pies are chicken green curry and normal pie. Plus bread is so reasonably priced.

Cheap and friendly. There is nothing at this bakery that will break the bank. The food is simple and this is not the bakery for a gourmet. But if you are looking for a quick and inexpensive feed then this is for you. My kids loved the mini quiches and jam donuts.

Love Kings bakery ! The jam donuts are the best I've ever had ever ! I used to get one almost everyday after high school ! Sometimes the lady would chuck in a couple freebie donuts ! There's not really anywhere to sit and eat other than out the front but it's the perfect stopby takeaway bakery !

Have just had 2 attempts at eating from here and failed dismally. My husband bought some pies. Tried the egg and bacon. Thought the pastry was rubbery and could only get about half way through then couldnt eat anymore because all i could taste was salt. Then made an attempt at a meat and bacon pie and found the same thing. The salt content is ridiculous and i like salt but could not eat these pies. Tje pastry was just terrible too. Will not be going back

You have got to love King Hot Bread in Ballarat. Unassuming from the outside, but simple, cheap and fresh products are being baked everyday here. I love that they are honestly selling yesterdays cakes for cheaper , but still offer freshly baked cakes for a still very cheap price - even on a Sunday.

Hands down the best profiteroles I've ever, I repeat ever had!! I used to live upstairs next door and would often grab a box of profiteroles to share with my house mates or a coffee scroll (also yummmm). Now I live 2 hours away, but will still pop in when I'm in Ballarat. Seriously good!!

After moving into Ballarat East it's nice to find a bakery like this nearby. Got a loaf of bread, some croissants and had to get a second of their ham, cheese, egg and bacon triangles (served hot) after the first one was so delicious.

Love their vanilla slice... Best profiteroles ever!!! Their pies are also great but I enjoy their chicken avocado salad rolls for less than $5. Have fond memories of coming here as a kid with my mum and watching them make fresh cinnamon donuts ... Taste great fresh too!

Ballarat needs banh mi. Very tasty and cheap rolls and cakes, however I would eat there every day if they started making pork banh mi.
