Great food, reasonably priced. It has a great simple menu, it's always cooked fresh every time and generous serves. We love it, always a family favourite.
Best Chinese in Ballarat. I get the HK Combination special and Special Fried Rice. Always the same great quality! I never worry about waiting becauce l know how good its going to be!
First time we have been there. The tables have all been packed up and it's takeaway only at the moment. We were impressed with the food, it's a very high standard for a suburban Chinese restaurant. We had a steamed dim sim, and a very large and tasty spring roll. Followed by garlic prawns, chicken and cashews, and satay beef. In common with lots of the reviews, it was a VERY long wait (55 minutes) but it was worth it. The food was excellent. Not up with the top Chinese restaurants in Melbourne, but the ingredients were good quality and it was perfectly cooked.
The food is good. But if he tells you that it's going to be ready in 25 minutes, you'd better believe he means 45 minutes. Every. Single. Time. It's still a 5 star review because I understand how this mans clock works.
Honestly, I've been very hesitant in reviewing this restaurant... It's my secret and if it gets flooded with customers and I can't get my food, I'll kick myself. I guarantee, you won't find better Chinese anywhere.. Even in China. Prices are unbelievably cheap. Everything is cooked fresh, and to perfection. There, I sealed my own coffin. Enjoy it and thank me later. (call well ahead of time for your take away.. As I said, it's all freshly done just for you. The Great wall wasn't built in a day right)
I've been coming to Hong Kong City for 30 years. Peter knows me very well. I only have to call and say hello and he knows my order, because it's the same beautiful curry chicken and vegies and large special friend rice. Peter is a dear fellow, a very nice man. Just typing this now makes my mouth water. We are blessed by this restaurant and the family who put this all together and make it happen. I see people moaning about waiting, it's worth the wait. The food is clean and top notch.
