Best fish and chips in town. 5 fish bites with chips for only $8.90 yet very fresh fish. Value for money. Free home made tartar sauce too. Super nice staff. 2 of us couldn’t finish these bites.
A pretty looking fish and chip shop from the inside and out, with plenty of seating, reading material available and decorative balls making things visually appealing.
A bit of a toss up between the New Zeland Hoki and the Aussie Barra, as Barramundi is such a well visited classic, we thought we'd pay the Kiwi a visit.
And what a visit at that! Boom. 'The best fish and chips Ive had in Australia' declares Arline. I'll second that, good lady.
'I'm a superstar' she jokingly declares as I inform her of her Zomato reviewing cameo. Make no mistake - this panko breadcrumbed fish - the most popular seller - is a sweet superstar also , soft, chunky and full of flavor.
The potato scallops shake, rattle and roll your hungry mouth, the tartare sauce is the real deal and the chips, while not amazing, are cooked just right.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was cooked in 'rocket into outer space' time. Fabolous.
We had the main plate for 2, and couldn't eat it all. Good fish and chips. No faults. Staff were friendly and we took it down to the river to enjoy the sunset.
Diana. What a great spot in the main street of Ballina to partake in fish & chips. Especially when the produce is freshly sourced from the waters of NZ & the pacific. The fish was melt in the mouth good & the chips crunchy on the outside, soft inside & not swimming in oil. To add to that a super friendly management.
Honestly the best fish and chips on the Northern Rivers, we've tried alot (and everywhere in Ballina). Extremely fresh, really good batter, and it seemed as though even the potato scallop was homemade.
Prices are a little higher than other places, but the servings are big, and the quality and freshness is undeniable. Great service and not a huge wait considering how busy it was.
We travelled down from the Gold Coast so my daughter could play in an AFL game and we headed to Dory's Takaway on the 14th of May for dinner after my daughter's AFL game. I am so glad we did. The food was great and was a generous serving. We ordered two hamburgers and a seafood pack for 2 that my wife and son shared. With my son being a teenager and usually eats alot of food, he couldn't finish his meal it was that big. The staff were very friendly and were patient with us while we decided on what we wanted to order. I found the burger I ordered to be extremely well prepared and very generous with the toppings. My wife and son found the seafood basket was cooked perfectly and again there was a generous serving of food. I would say we definitely got our money's worth last night and I highly recommend going here lunch or dinner. When we head down Ballina way again, this takeaway store will be the 1st place that I will be going to for something to eat. I would most definitely go there again and I am trying to think of an excuse to go back there for a feed.
Thank you for bringing quality fish & chips back to Ballina.
Our meal was delicious even our fussy 6 year old enjoyed it.
Best seafood sticks ever, hamburger was perfect.
Keep up the great work & never mind the bad reviews, you can’t please everyone.
You are all doing an amazing job, thank you 🙏🏻😊
Best value for money, decent sized dishes. Fish and chips so fresh, great variety! Most delicious chipotle aioli we’ve ever tasted
Dropped in for lunch today and has to be the best Fish and chips that I have had in such a long time
Try the home made Beef Croquettes, sensational. I had my fish crumbed and it was so fresh - totally delicious.
Well done team, can't wait to come back. Great to see a small business succeeding

Easily the best fish and chips we've had in Australia. Yep you read that right. I've been to countless fish and chips venues all over Australia in our travels and this one stands out by a mile. Fish perfectly cooked, generous size. Great batter. Friendly staff.
