Dining at this cute little cafe with pastel green walls is every instagrammer’s must-do for sure. Their dishes looked just as adorable as the decor, and they were pretty nicely executed as well.
Unlike your regular hash brown, the chef made it more fancy by including scallops and avocado. The hash brown was crispy outside and the inside was full of creamy mashed potato. The scallops were well seasoned and added extra texture to the dish too.
Pasta of the day was scallop fettuccine. I always love seafood so wouldn’t complain having even more scallops. This one was full of flavour and the scallops were cooked to perfection, the only downside was that the whole dish was a bit too dry. A little more sauce would made this even better.
Their signature waffles was very colourful and aesthetically pleasing. Look at the attention to details! The orange slices were cut to bite size, while the apple pieces were made very artistic. With fresh fruits and syrup drenched on top, the waffles was enjoyable yet not too sweet.
Out of all the drinks, I liked matcha latte and tropical rainforest the most. The former was full of matcha flavour and the latter was incredibly refreshing, which is great for summer.
Cutest little restaurant tucked away in Balmain. The owners are lovely and the food is amazing. Servings sizes are generous and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very laid back. Great for a casual dinner out.
Really loved the food and hospitality here. French Toast was my favourite and the hash brown on the salmon di panarea. Owners little boy is so adorable as well!!!If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!
Truffle toaster and tiramisu both are subtle and delicious. Coffee was a bit weak coz I love stronger taste. Flat white then long black. Will be back again!
This place was such a pleasant surprise. Didn’t know what to expect after finding it on google. The service was wonderful, very friendly staff. The food was delicious and the cocktails were very reasonably priced and yummy. I would come back here again in a heartbeat.
This is a must try. The food, and the service is fabulous. I really enjoyed it. The plating is great too. Sooooo tasty! Give it a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
God’s Creation is a mix of classic and quirky Italian food. We came for a late brunch, and their menu makes for a very welcome change to many standard brunch options!
We were greeted by the friendliest person ever, Helen. She showed us to our table and recommended a few dishes which were unique to GC.
We started with the “God’s Creation Delight”, which is possibly one of the best tasting coffees I have ever had. A coffee base with a thick layer of milk foam, caramel, and then topped with cinnamon sugar and fresh lemon zest! A whole completely different flavour to any coffee I’ve had before.
The first dish we order was the “Black Truffle on Toast”. The scrambled eggs were mixed with black truffle and freshly ground black pepper. Slices of prosciutto were delicately layered over the eggs, and it was topped with freshly shaved parmesan and a 3-hour grilled tomato! The truffle flavour came through very nicely, while not overpowering the eggs, and the parmesan complimented it so well. Maybe the most underrated part of this dish was the tomato. My partner who usually hates tomatoes on everything finished this almost instantly!
Next up we had “The Scallop Deluxe”. My personal favourite I must say! The scallops were some of the best i’ve had. Amazingly sweet, and the perfect texture that just made them so satisfying to eat. They were layered on top of an avocado casa which added a nice fresh element to the dish. The house made hash brown was ridiculous, I never knew potatoes could taste so good! If that wasn’t enough, there were also two poached eggs with home made hollandaise sauce on the side.
If you can’t tell already the chef, Cross, takes incredible care with his work. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the plating was so delicate and precise. He even recommended the best angles to shoot the food, which made my photo taking a lot easier! Helen was very attentive, and came to check on us a few times to make sure our meal was as we expected.
We finished off our meal with an Affogato. Vanilla (I think) gelato, with sliced almonds and covered with a shot of hot espresso. It was everything you’d want it to be. The gelato was creamy and full of flavour, and the espresso used is so rich with just the right amount of bitterness.
I live not too far from here and I’m shocked I never made it down sooner. I’ll easily be back for another weekend brunch in the future!
I was kindly invited down by Dr Social Australia, but all opinions are my own.
It’s hard to miss God’s Creation, with their bright aqua green exterior. With options like Prosciutto Omelette, scallop deluxe and black truffle toast it’s much fancier than your average neighbourhood cafe fare.
A good eggs benedict is a must on any brunch menu. And whilst God’s Creation does offer the classic bacon variety, go for the The Salmon di Panarea. the crispy skinned salmon, which is Soft and moist throughout, is seriously perfection.
Hidden Gem.
Started with very cute inviting color, this restaurant surprised us with tasteful food. We had pasta and rack of lamb. Both perfectly prepared and plated. Dessert was wonderful and light. In case you were wondering, this is a Italian restaurant with a twist - perfect for a date night or group.
Got invited to this place by Dr Social and I'm so glad for the invite.
The food was just divine - everything was plated beautifully and tasted just as heavenly.
The service was on point and the decor is super cute and the place, hard to miss.
Definitely one to put on your bucket list - would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
When God created this little cupid, he remembered to give him excellent cooking abilities and a DAMN good menu! (Whoops sorry God!)😜
God’s Creation in Balmain is a divine café restaurant with excellent food options, great coffee and a heavenly drinks menu that might have you ordering a glass of champagne with your Sunday brunch🍾🍴
Sit inside or out, the cafes turquoise walls and contrasting décor give this place a unique, fun and friendly vibe that caters to all walks of life – even your pooches!🐶
Right now this glorious café is offering its customers a bowl of mussels or a salad of your choice for only $1 when an individual orders just $18 worth of food or drinks. Quite the celestial act if I don’t say so myself!👌
Make a booking or stroll in off the street for a truly memorable meal in Balmain.
Came here on a Friday evening for Dinner (a very early dinner) there were still a lot of people stopping for coffee at the time of our early dinner.
We ordered their calamari for entrée - this was a memorable calamari as the sauce consisted of aoli and with chill sauce, it was a very pleasant home made twist. the calamari was tender and the batter crispy.
We ordered 3 mains:
Beetroot Salmon di Panarea with Black Ink Bread , Asparagus, Beetroot: Sam thoroughly enjoyed this. The bed of crunchy black bread was an excellent touch, the salmon itself was cook well done - we personally prefer salmon that's a little bit pink inside but that's ok. The plating of the dish was also on point.
Barramundi alla Procida with White wine Pipi, Pearl Barley: The barra was excellent, again crispy skin and good quality fish. I thought it was a bit of stewed veggies down the bottom but according to the menu, it was pipi and barley. There were excellent flavours in this dish.
Duck Breast with Caramelized Onion, Honey roast Pineapple w/ blueberry white wine: The Duck was cooked well done as well, I would have preferred a little pink on the inside. When duck is cooked well done it gets tough and that's exactly what happened to the duck breast. The flavours were superb but the duck breasts weren't tender which was a bit of a let down. I really liked the caramelised onion and pineapple...and the sauce. Everything about this dish was to perfection but I suppose there was a bit of a let down when it came to the star of the dish - the breasts.
For drinks a cup of white and a delicious mocktail. There are a lot of ticks to this restaurant, from beautiful plating, good food to friendly staff. However there were also some crosses such as the duck breast.
Another thing we are marking down for was the fact that the waitress kept delivering other people's food to our table- there were only 2 tables in the courtyard. I think that's something that can be quickly corrected but requires a mention as it affects the overall dining experience.
Overall, a lot of potential, for me it sits on the scale of a high average café that is doing a pretty outstanding job of dinner service (we know a lot of cafes who were unable to transition from a day time café to dinner service so kudos for God's Creation for taking this step).
I think it's fair to say that we both felt that it's a 3.5/5 café/restaurant that has the potential to reach 4/5 with room for improvement.
* we were kindly invited

God’s Creation is found right opposite the post office in Balmain on Darling Street.
Their food is Modern Italian with an Asian twist, Hong Kong trained Chef who puts together masterful dishes. I am not joking when i say they served me one of the best gnocchi’s I have tasted in Sydney! I love their flavour combinations that on paper may seem odd but on the plate taste amazing!
Highly recommend the Parmesan & Black Truffle gnocchi, and the the Fish on their dinner menu! I also Loved their pumpkin Risotto and Summer Secret Salad! Delicious food cannot fault and the owners Helen & her husband are so cute!

In Short: A cafe by day, and fine diner by night, God’s Creation truly reflects its name; heavenly good food. Our recommendation is the risotto, and the desserts deliver the perfect ending to an evening. . One of my favourite suburbs in Sydney is Balmain. Known as the home of the working class, because it was the birthplace of the Australian Labor Party back in 1891, it started out as an industrial area and many of the houses that you see around Balmain were initially built to house people who worked in the ship yards, metal foundries, and soap factories at that time. Today, most of those houses, especially those along Darling Street, have been converted to retail space and restaurants. What I would give to own one of those houses in Balmain that backs onto the harbour and its leafy streets belie the fact that Sydney CBD is just a mere five kilometres away.
Situated inside an elevated terrace house on Darling Street Balmain, God’s Creation is the first culinary venture for Helen and Cross, a young couple hailing from Hong Kong. Despite their Cantonese heritage, the choice of cuisine is based on head chef Cross’ passion for Italian food and his recent experience at well-known Italian restaurant “Blue Lemon” in Hong Kong as well as two other eateries in Sydney.
Location:
Located on Darling Street, this beautiful aqua coloured restaurant hosts both outdoor and indoor seating.
There is plenty of parking along the side street, you can find both paid and all day parking within a short stroll away.
Décor
The restaurant overlooks darling street and is perfect to sit and relax, have a coffee, light meal or something to curb your hunger.
We loved the outdoor seating, especially on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A perfect place to unwind and dine, and of course take some snaps of the beautifully presented dishes!
Wait Time:
No wait time at all since we came between lunch and dinner! Once we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and given seating choices that best suited us.
Service:
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful with providing recommendations according to our feelings
The food was served not long after we had ordered with the special $1 menu appetisers served first. We ordered one of each; mussels and Caesar salad. The owner introduced herself and her husband who happens to be the head chef and both came out regularly to check on our opinions of the food and made sure we were well taken care of.
Food: What we ate
We visited the restaurant at lunch which is a different menu to dinner.
Pasta; Freshly made squid ink linguine with mixed seafood
Risotto; Crispy Prosciutto, pumpkin, creamy risotto
Vegetable Omelette; Mushroom, Capsicum, Sun Dried Tomato, Feta Cheese and Sourdough.
Freshly squeezed juice; Watermelon & Coconut and Beetroot, Carrot & Ginger
Frappe; Mixed Berry + Mango
Price:
Reasonably priced for quality food and generous servings. Average $20 - $25 for the main dishes. They currently have an amazing lunch offer when one person spends over $18 you can order a bowl of mussels or a Caesar salad for only $1!!!
[invite] Bianca: Balmain isn’t exactly short of cafes. With neighbouring cafes and restaurants vying for your business in such a concentrated area, it’s hard to weed out the gems. Opening just over a month ago, Gods Creation has quietly been honing their craft. With an emphasis on an Italian fusion menu, we were curious how they stacked up to the competition.
Had a lovely lunch with friends there. I simply love love love their coffee n the coffee cup 😝 they have varieties of cocktail mocktail n wine options... food r amazing with good presentation. My favourites are salmon n Scollop so far! Will def go back to visit if I'm around!
Gods creation is a fabulous cafe in Balmain and in a suburb that is spoilt for choice this one has gone close to the top of our list! We visited for brunch and an absolute must try is their special coffee with cinnamon and lemon on top. A unique and delicious creation that you won't find anywhere else. As far as food goes the prosciutto Omelette was light and flavoursome and we savoured every bite. I'm never usually one to order French toast but I was surprised as this one had the perfect combination of salty and sweet with the crispy bacon balancing out the syrup. We also had a caesar salad which was a star on its own. LOVED every dish and will most certainly be back!
God’s Creation is a new café on Darling Street Balmain. Whilst Balmain is a place that is spoilt for choice, with so many cafés and restaurants aligning the streets, it’s hard to imagine another restaurant is needed. However, this restaurant is like nothing that exists in the area. It is an Italian restaurant, with an Asian influence, ran by a lovely couple reigning from Hong Kong. The restaurant was easy to spot, in a beautiful heritage style house painted turquoise green, and I love the colour!
The menu is wonderfully creative and I thoroughly enjoyed my scrambled eggs with squid ink; not to mention the French toast with perfectly crisp bacon. Each dish was so pretty, a feast for the eyes and taste buds indeed.
This place is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner - keen to come back and try out the other options on the menu.
Had a lovely dinner here last night. The food was very good quality. The lamb rack was cooked perfectly. And the lobster and crab ravioli was very tasty as well.
Love the environment of the restaurant and the friendly stuff.
Definitely recommend and would be lovely to comeback and try some other menu!
Came for dinner with a girlfriend on Saturday. I can’t believe I hadn’t been here before!
Terrific food, understated atmosphere and generous portions. The presentation of is on par with any fine dining establishment and the attention to detail is just *chef’s kiss*. I’ll be back!
Had a delicious breakfast here today. Rustic/ modern out and inside, I that order and nicely set out.
I had corn fritters with poached egg rocket. It was lovely albeit a fair bit under seasoned for the fritters themselves. But very enjoyable.
My partner had prosciutto omelette adding chorizo as well and it was delicious but a tad overcooked.
Beautiful presentation and very friendly staff. Definitely going to go back because even if it could be improved it was superb food!
On the 9th day god said "let there be food" we ate the food and it was good. Very good actually, the best risotto I've ever had, great lamb chops and spectacular squid ink pasta.
We ordered a Bread Basket, a Burrata, Lamb Cutlets and the Crab Linguine along with a bottle of red. We also got a complimentary desert because she shuffled our reservation twice. Very thoughtful, deeply appreciate the service, the flavours and their portion sizes. Will most definitely revisit this restaurant ! Incredibly reasonable too..
God's Creation is a new restaurant on Darling St serving a contemporary Italian menu.
We ordered the salt and pepper squid to start which was cooked perfectly and super tasty.
Then squid ink linguine is also absolutely amazing, however the black truffle gnocchi stole the show.
If you fancy some Italian food in Balmain, I highly recommend trying God's Creation.
