Fresh sushi and friendly staff! Recommend the Chirashi salad and soft shell crab roll! The party platters are also perfect for when you have ppl com round (you just need to order this in advance!)

Had the $20 set menu and loved it. I usually don't like teriyaki chicken because it's too salty for me but I liked this one because it was more sweet.
They bring the miso first, then sashimi, salad and when you're finished they bring the tempura and main. Never been to a sushi place where they serve it in "courses" very good idea.
Edit 2018: prices gone up but the portion stays the same

Great little sushi place in Balmain. We ordered the sushiman special roll $8 (which was generous and tasty), salmon avocado roll $4.5 (which was just as delicious) and the small sushi sashimi combination $20 (which had a diverse selection of nigiri and fresh thick cut sashimi 🤤). In total it came to $32.5, which is quite cheap as the bill at sushi train for two people averages at $40-50.

Good fast tasty fresh food. Very reasonably priced menu and a very friendly staff. Must visit place for sushi in this area. Sushi I has always been fresh. Many warm options from their menu apart from sushi and sashimi. They also do great platters for parties and big groups

Garlic Teriyaki Tuna AMAZING. I absolutely love the Garlic Teriyaki Tuna dish. It's 2 slabs of tuna steak that have been pan fried with teriyaki sauce and garlic making the outside crisp and crunchy while the meat is sweet and tender! Definitely try this dish!

Have been eating sushi from here for nearly 10 years and the food continues to be fresh and delicious! They also do the best party platters!
The restaurant is getting better, menu has few changes, haven't tried all yet, I had tacoyaki, soup and the sushi man classic roll, the most and 100% recommended is the Sushiman classic roll it's just delicious, soup was average. Prices now are decently acceptable.
Pay no attention to what this place looks like on the outside, the food is amazing! The Fish Pancake is great (or so I have been told) I ate the fried food and it was pretty good....
