Food 4/5!
Really authentic Malaysian food. Try the char kway teow, the fish head noodles or chicken rice. All taste great and are fresh with fair sized servings

The place is a little small and can fill up so keep that in mind when coming on a weekend time. But would definitely be worth it regardless

I have this place bookmarked but I have forgotten all about it until I was in the area and was looking for somewhere to eat. A little bit hard to spot at night, look out for the red star at the shopfront. Nothing fancy here but you know it's the food that you're here for.

We tried the Hokkien Noodle, Classic Yong Tofu, Bak Kut Teh and the Nasi Kerabu. First and foremost, let it be known that the Hokkien Noodle has bits and pieces of pork lard scattered on top. Take my money and get in my belly!

The Hokkien Noodle and Nasi Kerabu showcased incredible depth of flavour, and had each ingredients coming together to create an exceptional dish. The broth for the BKT and Yong Tofu was somewhat more demure than I would liked, but still tasty in its own right.

The fried chicken that came with the Nasi Kerabu was fantastic. Juicy, tender and generously coated in spices. The sambal is also a must try. Such piquant flavours that goes so well with any of the dishes here.

It was too cold to try the ice kachang but according to the owner, it's as authentic as you can get! Judging by the delicous ondeh ondeh that we had, I don't doubt him at all.

Another spot for you to try Jojo Armani!

Another Malaysian cafe to add to the growing list!
They do pretty good wat tan hor (sar hor fun - call it what you want) and their chilli/sauces selection is pretty darn good for an avid chilli sauce lover!
Have been here quite a few times when I'm in the neighbourhood and have eaten a range - from their fried rice, bak kut teh, marmite chicken, laksa, ckt. Great food, but do prepare to leave with a wok and fried smell on your clothing!

Overall it's not a bad place, can be at times quiet, maybe because not many people know about it yet! It is further down from the stretch of shops along whitehorse road.

Tried the Yong tau foo curry laksa, and it was good albeit a little on the oily side. Also ordered the chilled soybean milk with grass jelly, and it was yummy. Would definitely come back to try the other stuff on the menu. Parking is a little hard to find during dinner time.

The most authentic Northern Malaysian cuisine in South Eastern Melbourne. Plenty of good dishes that I usually go for; Mee Rebus (those crackers were great!), Char Hor Fun (just nice and not too starchy), Char Kuay Teow (Spiciness is just nice and smoky), and Crispy Noodle.

The fish head noodles (with laksa soup) was delicious! The fish head fried long enough the bones and cartilage was crunchy. The only room for improvement would be to add more coconut cream/milk to the broth as it lacks the fragrant coconut taste and is overpowered by the spicy ness!

A lovely little restaurant with delicious dishes! The staff are very friendly and offer quick service. The food is really tasty and are generous in portion size. We really enjoyed the claypot yee mee and one of the specials featuring lots of tofu.

They also sell lots of delicious treats to takeaway, which I would recommend over the desserts.

An impromptu meal found us here, with a hankering for CKT.  The service was very friendly (even cheeky, in a good way) and the venue was clean.  Despite the kitchen being within the dining room, the ventilation was excellent.  The CKT was well executed - very fresh ingredients.  Not that I'm complaining (as I love the egg gravy) but it seemed a little like a Wat Tan Hor with the amount of gravy covering it.  Just a point of difference I guess.  Looking forward to returning to try other items.

Fantastic yummy food. we had the rendang and curry chicken with rice.  It has a depth of flavour which is really enjoyable.  We also had the Malaysian sweets, glutinous rice ball with has a burst of brown sugar and coconut.  It was soft and really delicious. Will be back for more for sure.

Authentic food and close to home. Wide range of dishes from the various Malaysian States, pretty good and would come back again. Pricing is standard and reasonable

So lucky to have this authentic Malay cafe at the corner. The chicken rice is def the must to try. Loved the detail to put deep fried green beans in the soup of laksa. What a highlight!

Today I tried the Curry Laksa with Chicken from Green Lane Cafe Balwyn. It was a nice simple Laksa, fresh, and after adding some extra sambal had a good amount of heat. I would definitely return to have it again. I also enjoyed the Kuih Dadar, I really liked this, good texture, not too sweet, nice coconut and Pandan flavour.

Char kuay Teow and Sar Hor Fun was nice. Kuay Teow, Hor Fun, and chicken rice seem to be the popular dish. Disappointed there was no assam laksa, or prawn noodle. Chicken Laksa was so so.

Great char koay teow! One of the best I’ve had in Melbourne and will definitely go back to try the other dishes. Wife had the chicken rice which was great too. Very authentic and good job to the owners! Ended the meal with this colourful dessert.

First time here. Nice seafood combination, if that's what I've ordered. Really busy and two people at the front might not be enough. Will try again though. Edit: told the lady about the mixed up and she was very apologetics... I have to go back now.

Decent choice for Malaysian food in Melbourne’s East. The restaurant has great service, authentic menus, and a real Singaporean / Malaysian feel. The Nasi Lemak was decent, but there is definitely better out there. Good place to meet up with friends.
