Went today with a friend and her children. Had the best burgers ever! The brioche bun was so soft it melted in your mouth. The donuts are also amazing. This place is a must to go and check out.
These guys never disappoint!! Such amazing service with epic love for their food! Get around them!!
Finally got a chance to see what the hype is all about. Ordered the deluxe chicken burger and it was absolute heaven. I love chipotle aioli and the chicken was also super juicy and flavoursome. The only regret was that I didn’t get a donut but I knew I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it as much after gobbling down the burger, so I’ll have to go back for it next time!

I love this understated local burger and donut shop! Its my favourite, everything is soo tasty and always same standard every time I visit even during lockdown, take-away is a must! My favourite of course is their donuts because I’m such a sweet-tooth but their thickshakes are super thick and delicious, burgers are soo flavourful and tasty!! Highly recommended!

Balwyn Canteen is situated on Whitehorse Road near the corner of Balwyn Road intersection along the busy shopping strip! The shop is not very noticeable and very small but it doesn’t matter, its all about the food. There is a wall bench with high chairs inside but given the current situation, dine-in is not available.

The thickshakes are soo delicious and seriously it's like a meal, its soo filling hehe!
My favourite burger so far is the Crispy Fried Chicken and I think the BFC is also delicious too!! Not to say their beef burgers arent good, they just as tasty! But I love Fried Chicken hahah!!
And 100% love their donuts. Reason is that they're not sweet, its always freshly made and super light and fluffy. The custard filling is so light and tasty and every easy to eat. I love the Vanillia custard you cant go wrong with this flavour. The best is the Chocolate Biscoff Brownie and Lotus Biscoff! Delicious! Always look forward to going to Balwyn Canteen!!
Everything is so tasty, but I really recommend the peanut butter thick shake and cookies! 😋😋😋

❤️: Absolutely loved the Balwyn Beefscoff 🍔—beef brisket, bacon🥓, beef patty, American cheese🧀, and some Biscoff sauce. How can anyone resist? The thicks here are also amazing. So thick it’ll shock you! Definitely go for the PB peanut🥜 and Choc Chip🍪 Shake if you do. Also a big shoutout to the onion rings. So crispy and perfect 🧅.
WARNING: The shakes are SUPER SWEET! Like way too sweet. So add milk or something to dilute it a little.
Got the foodbeast with added fried chicken, bacon jam, and cheese curds. Fried chicken was the best part, pulled pork was decent, beef was pretty good, bacon was perfect, mac & cheese croquette was ok, bit disappointed with cheese curds being deep fried. Overall 8/10 burger. Also got a peanut butter & nutella thickshake which i had to wait 20mins to drink 😂 shake was really good, perfect flavour. Donuts were soft and bursting with flavour. Favourite was the PB&J and nutella. Highly recommend balwyn canteen for burgers, donuts, and shakes.

After multiple raves about this place, I finally managed to make my way down to it. The best surprise? How close it was to One Piece Cafe. Balwyn has just raised the steaks in the burger market. Located on the main street of Mountain Highway, you should try and find a parking spot off the main road.
I dropped by Balwyn Canteen on the way home for a sweet dose of donuts. I purchased:
Strawberry Jam donut - this was simply amazing. The donut itself was nice and yeasty. The strawberry filling was not too sweet. The combination was almost perfect.
Vanilla custard donut - I'm a custard lover and this version of custard was sweet, creamy and full of vanilla goodness. Definitely a mood changer and something I could have every single day.
If their food is as good as their donuts, I'll be back asap!
The best burgers and donuts in town! Not to mention the fries and thickshakes are amazing too! My fave burger would have to be the fried chicken burger - I’m usually super picky with fried chicken burgers but it was on point and the other burgers I’ve had have also just been so good! The owners are lovely too which is always a bonus :) Highly recommend a visit here if you’ve never been!
The burgers are definitely delicious and so are the shakes. Reasonably priced and friendly service. The seating is only for a small crowd. We sat at the front which seated 5.
Not many places you will find that make everything fresh on the premises these days. Everything is over the top and the own it so well. Super tasty burgers shakes and doughnuts!!!
Came here to try the epic donut burger! Man it was so delicious and insanely creative, never had anything like it before! Very cool concept of a sweet peanut butter jam donut together with a beef patty. A must try! And a pretty photo for the gram :) Their other savoury burgers were pretty tasty too. Decently priced too! They have a range of pretty and yummy donuts too, will be back to try other flavours! Kind staff at the counter to welcome you.

THE BEST BURGERS!!! Extremely tasty, healthy, fresh and full of flavour, not to mention the delicious Italian style donuts!!! Their burgers are a family take away favourite, satisfying even our most fussiest eater. We've never been disappointed us since we discovered them a couple of years ago. Balwyn Canteen knocks it out of the park in a market that has quite a few burger places. This Friday afternoon, we received delicious complimentary donuts for us to enjoy (I so needed a sugar fix with my coffee after a long week). Keep up the amazing work, you are the BEST and thank you for appreciating and remembering your regular customers. Would have taken a photo of the burgers but they went as soon as they arrived!
This was a fantastic burger. Juicy Patties with a good crust, and not too greasy. Leaves you feeling good after eating it. The Patties are quite thick so go with the single unless you’re extra hungry
Fantastic burgers that can be made on gluten free buns which is awesome for coeliacs (if you’re OK with not a completely GF prep environment) . Unfortunately their chips are not gluten free - so just a heads up that this you can’t get your typical burger and chips meal. Please make your chips gluten free guys :((
These insane and crazy-looking burgers from Balwyn Canteen @balwyncanteen are must-try. It is one of our best spots to have burger in 2021 😋

The `TRY IT OR DIET` is surprisingly super good and very addictive - the peanut butter and jam gave an extra depth to the savoury burger. The beef patty was perfectly cooked and the two donut buns were the perfect replacement to the normal buns. This burger will ruin your diet but must-try at least once 😆
The fried chicken burger was also flawless - crunchy crispy full of flavour chicken breast - no complaint at all. Highly recommended burger spot here in Melbourne and we dare you to try one of their crazy burgers here.
Amazing food and drinks. Definitely one of the best burgers I have ever had!! Highly recommend.
