By far the best dining experience we have ever had. Each course was so full of flavour! We had such a special night and experience. Highly highly recommend! 10/5 stars.

The tasting menu here is very good. It started off with tomato miso-yaki, then kingfish escabeche. But were great entree dishes and have a lot of ingredients adding various flavours. The main was pork tenderloin (the best one). The fourth course - mimolette tartlet I don't rate as it was certainly not up to standards of a chef's hat restaurant. The dessert - matcha Davidson's plum financier, was excellent. Easily the best restaurant in Bateman's Bay and the only one with a chef's hat. Not the best chef's hat restaurant though as serving sizes were small for the $129 per head we paid and I was not full after finishing the dining experience. Still worth a try for the experience. Yours truly @fooderarri

Great place for fine dining in the batemans Bay Area. Wonderful service and great restaurant ambiance. Unfortunately not 5 star just because you still could eat after the 5 courses and for the price you would not want to be. The best course was the main. The lobster sauce with the pork tenderloin was Devine!

We had been looking forward to dinning at the Sandbar for quite a while and went on New Year's eve. We had the set menu and all the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. A good take on the fusion of Japanese and bush tucker. Not a cheap meal but probably the best fine food in the Bay and surrounds. The wine list was good too. Some people have commented that they left still hungry but we both thought the total offering was more than sufficient, and I like my food! They have a great view over the Bay but they could probably work a bit on the interior decorating as it feels a bit like a 70s cafeteria, although the prints of local scenes were a nice touch. We would go back again on a special occasion. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, friendly staff. A very good tasting menu, sometimes there's just a few too many flavours on the plate

This 5 cause degustation has got to be one of the best meals I've had! The price for the quality of food and service is unreal. We have eaten at many fine dining restaurants in Sydney, this by far, if not the best, very close to it. Highly recommended to anyone. A must have is the yuzu sake after the meal. Complements the chef and the wonderful staff. Ill be back again for sure.

Have now been to the Sandbar three times and was worried how they would be surviving after COVID-19. Rest assured, they are up and running and better than ever! We made the trip to BB especially and it did not disappoint. We absolutely loved everything from beginning to end!

We came here for an anniversary dinner and were very excited with the Japanese / French fusion and also impressed at how highly rated the restaurant was. We found each dish beautifully presented however there were a number of dishes where we felt tried to incorporate too much and therefore some flavours clashed rather than complemented / enhanced the dish. The standouts were the roasted marshmallow with matcha ganache (part of the 4th course) and the lobster veloute (part of the 3rd course). The location is also a little odd - on top of a hotel (comes across more like a motel) and so impacted the overall first impressions of the place. Given the price ($125 for 5 courses) we expected a little more of a wow factor. Tasty food nonetheless but at times unnecessarily overcomplicated.
