10/10 Experience. The quality and presentation of the food were outstanding, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is classy. I highly recommend the braised lamb shanks they were the best I've ever had. Great wine list too. I will definitely be returning.
The place is cool and has good vibes. Lunch on Sunday is amazing with the chef serving variety of slow roasted meats and plenty of salad buffet while live music is going on. The staff is very friendly and efficient and during the week can happen to be just a few friends enjoying a meal sit close to a wood fire, love still to be able to find those things. Can't wait to try the new specials coming up. My salmon Saturday night was incredible!!! Definitely a place to stop by.
Much improved pub and an enjoyable place to be, was great to see them tell one loud mouth bikie to never come back, but I'll be back.

A favourite. A beautiful pub in a great setting. The food never fails to please and is very affordable. Favourites are the lamb shanks, eye fillet w prawns, the green spaghetti, sticky date pudding..... and many more!
Would be much better if glass could be taken into the beer garden.

Nicely done. I'm a bit over the up market pub food thing. This place proved me wrong. 7pm Sunday, about 1/3 full.
I went for pub food, beef and Guinness pie and Irish mash, eighteen bucks. Nice serve of veggies. Faultless. The wife's steak was pretty good, but not memorable.
We had a bottle of Bannockburn Pinot, looks like the markup was only 60% on that. Another plus.
The fire was hot, the room was warm, the architecture is good. The area behind the bar looks a bit scruffy, a big 4 door fridge does nothing for the ambience.
Service was efficient and accurate, if not especially friendly.
Batesford Hotel in Batesford. What a surprise to find that the Hotel which used to be Dogs Rocks is under new management as of 2 years ago and is totally revamped, great renovation with old railway parts as tiles around the fireplace and ladders on the ceiling supporting lights, the beer garden is gorgeous, but of course for me it was the food and service which stood out, We had the Warm Chefs Salad of butterflied prawns and Calamari plus dips and bread all fabulous and as we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners which was a lovely welcome, the manager was especially good. Can't wait to go back to try some of the more substantial meals.

We've eaten here three times recently and it's now our first choice for a terrific pub meal. The pub itself is stylish and service is friendly and efficient. Best of all, the food is really good and is well-priced. A great spot! Mark A.
