I went to “Madoljai” with my friends yesterday.
We had a lot of excellent food. They were absolutely tasty.
To be honest, All of really perfect whether it be service, atmosphere, music and food.
Must try!!! You will get a beautiful experience as us.

Most pure, fresh, balanced flavors. Gorgeous dishes created with much skill and passion and presented beautifully. Warm congratulations to Chef Mawan for her vision and courage, for choosing organic ingredients and traditional cooking methods, respecting tradition and promoting well being. We are very lucky to have access to such high quality dining so close to home, right here at Beaumaris, Bayside.

Did you know that Madoljai means inspiration? Well named that place.
The other night I wasn't in the mood for the usual pizza. We went for a drive hoping for inspiration. I told my husband to surprise me. He knows that means I was going to be vague and not at all helpful. We drove and drove. By the time we'd rejected and exhausted all culinary possibilities we'd come to a full stop in Beaumaris - in front of a pizza place.
I was ready to cave in and have a Margarita. Next door was a Thai fine dining restaurant (that's what the sign said) called Madoljai. I felt intimidated by that sign. I wasn't dressed for fine dining. I don't like the condescending waiters that come with the territory. You'd think they owned shares in the place. Pasta and pizza for me.
I got out of the car just for a look through the window. Snowy table cloths, children enjoying a meal, young couples checking out their menus.
So glad we took the risk. The waitresses were friendly and not at all haughty types.
I had Khao Pan Pak as an entree. It was described as rice pancake stuffed with sauteed mushrooms, vegetables, crispy enoki, dressed with clear sweet & sour sauce. The rice pancake was a crispy wafer, not like any other pancake I'd eaten before and the combination of ingredients was just divine. I did have to wait for it longer than I expected, but it was explained to me that it was so both entrees could be served together. Nice touch.
The rest of the meal was equally delightful. It's getting five stars from me.

Madoljai is my new favourite Thai restaurant. I love it because the staff are very friendly, almost as nice as the food was. I ate spanner crab on a cracker with Yarra Valley caviar for entree and that was amazing. It was an impressive start to my dinner. I would definitely have it again. My favourite main I tried was the slow cooked lamb. The lamb was so tender and flavoursome, it was amazing!!! I also love the location in Beaumaris. It’s a lovely suburb and since my new favourite Thai restaurant is there I have a good excuse to go. After I finished I struggled to leave even though I was full, trust you won’t want to leave either, the food and service was amazing. The restaurant in general was really nice. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Madoljai is situated in the Concourse shopping area at Beaumaris next door to the Lobster Cave. My wife and I have visited Madoljai on 6 or 7 occasions now including the first week that they opened.
This is no ordinary local Thai restaurant, offering Thai fine dining in the heart of the suburbs.
The hospitality at Madoljai is exceptional, with an amazing greeting every time you visit just as Thai people are prone to do.
The Menu has a great selection of choices and for an appetiser you can’t possibly go past the Spanner crab on rice crackers….sensational!
In my view all menu choices are scrumptious… from the Salt and Pepper Morton Bay Bug to the Duck Leg and Peking Duck in Green Curry sauce or Aromatic steamed tiger prawns….yum.
Wine choice is excellent for a local restaurant (as are the imported beers) and very reasonably priced.
Service is fantastic with experienced Thai staff delivering a warm and gracious experience.
I believe they have plans for some updates to the décor which will certainly lift the experience even further.
I can highly recommend Madoljai Tahi Restaurant.

This is not your ordinary Thai Restaurant! Very impressed with the quality of the food and the service was excellent. Stand out dishes for me were the stuffed chicken wings (entrée), spitchcock (main) and the coconut dessert (amazing)!! We will be back!
Excellent five star fine dinning Thai cuisine that exceeded our expectations. Seafood was very fresh and well presented especially tiger prawns and lobster. Traditional Thai dishes were presented with unique and different flavours. Shayne and Christine Benedict.
Amazing Thai food and excellent service. This is not your normal pad Thai greasy noodle restaurant, this is fine dining with Thai flavours. Staff were so knowledgable and friendly, as well as very attentive. Because it's such high quality, it's not what I would call cheap, but was very delicious. One of the best in Beaumaris!
My husband and I went to Madoljai after the recommendation from a friend. We are so happy that we did. The moment you walk in you feel special. The atmosphere was very classy and the customer service was second to none. Most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. In particular, the Khao Tang Na Tang and Chu Chee Scallops were absolutely divine. Definitely not your 'average suburban thai', Madoljai is a perfect place for a special night out.
9th June 2018 went to Madoljai again for a birthday dinner. As always a very special time was had. The food here is just beautiful. Perfectly flavoured and cooked. This restaurant is way beyond your local Thai yellow curry type cooking and yet the prices are so reasonable. Thank you Bli and Mawan.
This is one of best restaurants in bayside Melbourne. The food is modern though based on traditional village recipes. Beautiful flavours, textures and presentation. The service is just beautiful too, so friendly, so attentive. Treat yourself.
We were lucky enough to choose Madoljai as the venue in which to celebrate our anniversary last night. We'd heard good things but hadn't yet tried it. Well, boy have we been missing out! This upmarket Thai restaurant serves food which is easily the best we have locally. From the moment we arrived, our delightful waitress Blee (phonetic spelling -sorry Blee!) was attentive, knowledgeable and made us feel special. When I called in to make the booking I mentioned in passing that we were celebrating our anniversary. Lo and behold when we arrived a 'Happy Anniversary' message was on our table. We enjoyed the spanner crab and prawns for entrees, spatchcock and flounder (and the amazing lotus root chips) for mains - every bite was fabulous. I honestly think that the calibre of skill in the kitchen means you could order anything on the menu and it would be delicious. Thank you Madoljai for making our night perfect - we'll be back with friends and family! Jane & Tony
I don't normally leave a full review but I just have to for this place. Went for a lunch and got the special 2 course for $25. Food was fresh, authentic and completely delicious. Every dish was great and can't wait to come back. Service was excellent too!

If I hadn't known better, I would have thought I was stepping into the restaurant of a swish upmarket hotel as we entered Madoljai. From the moment you walk in, you know this is not your typical suburban Thai restaurant! Think black linen, a chandelier, wall lamps, background classic jazz music and extreme attention to detail. We were greeted by warm and welcoming staff who were clearly highly trained and excellent at their roles. Little touches make a huge difference - I was particularly delighted at how regularly our table water was replenished with fresh ice cubes! As for the food - it was the perfect marriage between the effervescent flavours of Thai cuisine and the finesse of 5-star Western dining. Even the simple prawn cracker was made to stand out, the rice pancake was a delicate melange of flavours and textures...the list carries on into dessert. Definitely give the avocado ice-cream a try - refreshing and something different. Artful plating, decorative flair and well-cooked food make for the perfect meal. While there are some Thai traditional favourites on the menu, if you're in the mood for good old fish cakes and chicken cashew nut or a tom yum, this isn't the place. Unfortunately, the only flaw here in my opinion is the relative paucity of choice in terms of main dishes - though the quality of the food does make up for it. Staff were also quite accommodating in addressing some dietary requirements and very welcoming of any feedback. I read about Madoljai in the Age about a month ago and immediately knew we had to try it, even if it meant a bit of a drive out to Beaumaris - in retrospect, I'm definitely glad we did! Madoljai may not be your 'traditional Thai', but its fusion really inspires the palate, and I hope this elegant establishment enjoys great success in the months and years to come.
I read about this new restaurant in The Age a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I went there for lunch today. Everything we ate was excellent, and the khao soi was the best I've had in Melbourne. Highly recommended and excellent value at lunchtime. And don't miss the Thai tea ice cream!

Unbelievably creative fine dining Thai. The chef really goes outside the box here, with truly excellent results. The lobster tail with caviar is extravagant and seriously delicious, and they haven't compromised on this menu with choices like fresh oysters, Angus steak, and Peking duck curry.
I would put the creativity and fresh flavour combinations on par with the likes of Spice Temple, and the restrained but entertaining menu has something on it for everyone.
There's an emphasis on the art of food, with the menu telling the story of the chef's work in both art and food.
An exciting and unique find in Bayside.

I return to this fine Thai restaurant near my home. Generous serves of authentic Thai cuisine and very friendly service by the Thai staff. Also available for Ubereats deliveries. The roti bread is always a tasty starter. BYO is another bonus. No complaints!! 😁

Madoljai has fresh creative inspiring food! From the start our dining experience is always 5+ star to say the least. We have dined at many fine dining restaurants around the world and have found at Madoljai to be one of our best dining experiences. The chef has great knowledge of infusing and creating this amazing menu that looks like a piece of art on your plate. Everything is made in house and the prices are very reasonable.
We can't believe how lucky we are to have this beautiful restaurant in our backyard.
