Yat Bun Tong

A place to go to for great Chinese food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended. At times service can be a bit slow.

Great flavour, huge choice of food, and these guys are constantly busy for eat-in and takeaway. We had the pork and chives dumplings and the combination dumplings which are chicken, beef and vegetable. The pork or and chives were great - not overly fragrant like some places so, and the flavour of the pork was great. Dunk these in chilli sauce and soy, and you've got a party going on in your mouth. Best of all, they give you 15 dumplings for the price! A full meal for one or a great share option! The combination dumplings were good except for the beef - they are surrounded in some kind of wet soupy sauce which left a bit of a tangy aftertaste that we didn't like. The chicken and vegetable dumplings were fantastic. Again, you get 15 dumplings in this option (5 of each). The rest of the menu looks great too. Lots of people shoot for fried rice, and the servings are massive. You just can't go wrong here, and with two locations in the City and at Belconnen, you have them at arms length whenever you want them. Bookings to eat in are not essential, but highly recommended.

The Chinese food here is the best in Canberra. The pan fried steamed bun was great as the traditional Shanghai style. The fried rice cake is another reason I want to come again. Really love this place and I will try other dish next time.
