We popped in her for a drink and a light meal after the movies. It's the kind of pub that has a TAB attached so I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The wine was only $6 a glass and was really good. Our chicken and bacon pizza was very tasty and the service was fast. We sat outside in the beer garden which was really quite nice.
I've been for lunch several times in the past few months. It's really great pub food and they have specials every night. It's very affordable and you just get non-fancy well cooked meals - I often have the steak with Garlic Prawns....PLUS they always feature a $7 or $8 pint which is a bonus. I paid $13.50 for a pint last week at The Oxford - ? There are reviews about the service, but hey, you're going for a pub meal, what do you expect? Grab a beer and two while you wait...perfect!! Well Done The Belmont Tavern, happy local!
Hard to fault, Efficient, unobtrusive, pleasant and fast service, generous servings of good quality lunchtime fare with seniors discounts menu midweek. Recommended.
Really great place to catch up with friends. We were group of 8 people and at end of the night we all were very happy. We will be back for sure.
Came here for a weekday lunch. Had the Boston burger and was very impressed. Wagyu beef burger meat was delicious with a nice sweet brioche bun. Food was slow but $7.50 pints of Carlton Draught whilst waiting made up for that. Would def be back.
I've lived in the area for 4 years and usually eat here about once a month. We keep going back because the specials are great, and they do really tasty pub food. The service is always really friendly - they are a lovely bunch of guys and girls - but they lack organisation. They seem to have insufficient staff for the amount of tables, we always wait a long time for service. The kitchen is also very slow. But at the end of the day it's our local pub, we enjoy the food, we enjoy having a few drinks and as long as you aren't desperately starving it's not the end of the world having to wait a while for dinner.
Yes I came here having seen the horrendous reviews! Really nothing wrong with the place. It's big, family friendly, indoor and outdoor seating, lots of parking, week night specials. As its big, there can be a wait for food. We ordered sweet potato chips on arrival. Had to chase up a few times but boy were they good. Everyone was very happy with their main, including myself with the $17 steak (and I usually only eat eye fillet!). Personally I don't frequent taverns but I would come back if invited.
Average !. Went in a party of 8 for Saturday dinner. Service was ok, menu good and the overall experience was fine. However, 4 of us had steak which were not cooked as asked. Mine should have been medium rare but was over medium. Another was virtually raw.
Will give it another try in the future but wont order steak !
Tries hard, gets it mostly right, could improve.. The fish & chips, steak sandwich, salads were all good. The other meals were not impressive due to small serve size, they are trying to make it quality but a "roast special" should be filling even if aiming for gourmet. The spaghetti bol was ok but not huge. One of our party had a steak and did not enjoy it for the price. None of the meals are cheap so we expected more food. It is rare that we leave a restaurant hungry as we are not big eaters.
The staff were ok, the waitresses were working hard. The food came out reasonably promptly. We had a table for 13 - 8 of us enjoyed the food, 5 of us didn't.
There were no problems with the room temperature as other reviewers mention, it was just right.
Pleasantly Surprised. We have been talking about going here for ages as a pre movie meal and finally did on Sat night - It was much brighter and newer than I was expecting and our meals were excellent.
I can understand about people’s comments about slow, I didn't think the staff were slow but not enough of them. The ones I saw were constantly busy and doing their best - they were very polite and obliging when we wanted to change the menu.
We had the steak with pepper sauce and the chicken parmie and I would go back again
I though it was excellent value for money in comfortable surrounds.
Not been to this venue in awhile, but wow. Great decor and atmosphere. This artwork on the walls really gives inside personality and light.
Food great and very filling.
Plenty of spots to sit, eat and drink.
Sports bar open and roomy, with great pictures around the walls and access to TAB.

Came here for our famliy dinner on a Friday evening great astomphere wonderful indoor playground for the kids, we had a brilliant waitperson called faith very friendly and efficient someone who actually cares about her job and it showed with her customers service skills , meals were reasonably good well priced.

Went for lunch public holiday Monday, place was absolutely jammed full, and I was SERIOUSLY impressed with the level of service. Drink and food orders were taken promptly, and arrived in a decent time. All staff were friendly and helpful, despite how busy they were.
We shared a bunch of stuff from the shares menu, and everything was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back! :D
(Nov ‘21)Pub had a great atmosphere , food was very nice, and decently priced. Thought the drinks were well priced too. Service was great. Best of all, was the air-conditioned kids playground that is in a glass room, that took a lot of noise away. Happy to have picked this pub to take hubby to for his birthday lunch, shame we were just driving through and not local.
Edit: (April ‘22) just returned for a 2nd visit. Belmont Tavern did not disappoint. 10/10 again!! Great feed and great service. Also food was out quickly.
