What a great experience!
We have quite a few degustation experiences under our belt and found Masons to be comparable to “Copper Pot” (Ashley Davis) Seddon, Vic.
We roamed along at the direction of Chef and could not fault the food.
Beautifully presented with a few dishes showing creativity with flavours.
One thing I found very different to other “plates” was the portion sizes. There was too much!
On other “Roadtrips” or “meanders” a share plate would supply a taste with one morsel to enjoy, Masons gave two. By the time the dessert plate arrived we were wondering how we could ask for a doggy bag......
When the food is so good you HAVE to eat everything put in front of you right? Right?
I was a little confused by the decor as it appeared the restaurant was styled all bar the tables and floor. I would have loved to see a quality dish for the salt and pepper, rather than the container it was bought in.
Good to know it was a quality ingredient, but expectation can be met without advertising.
The table seemed to be clunky with wasted space by having a drop holder for cutlery and napkins..... giving it a “family restaurant franchise circa 1985” feel.
A waste of much needed space when the beautifully presented service staff could place plate and utensils upon arrival.
Service staff are friendly and know the menu..... a little more training and the overall experience would be complete.
(If you take cocktail orders, remove the wine glass. If you then take a wine order, remove the empty cocktail glass)
Well worth the visit (our reason for driving 300km to Bendigo).
We will be back.
The roaming menu was superb!!
Excellent quality, beautiful presentation and very generous
The chef accommodated everyone’s dietary requirements.
Highly recommend !!
Fantastic meal so worth the drive from Melbourne. We will be back and very soon.
Service was great menu amazing venue very tasteful, wines also fantastic.
The food was absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend it. Ingrid our waitress was just as awesome as the food!
Excellent service! Amazing food! Especially the pork shoulder. Hands down the best pork dish I have ever eaten in my life!
Truly amazing food. Wow to all the elements of each dish; taste, ingredients, presentation! They are the work of art! And the service!!! far beyond satisfaction. I honestly felt that the staff appreciated our existance of being there! What an amazing dining experience. Thank you thank you all :)
We had a family get together and all decided to go for the tasting plates that cost around $35. Wow!!Was it worth it! Every single dish was delectable. The service was spot on. Cant wait to go back.
We had birthday party and cannot praise the food enough, can see why it is hatted, the food was amazing, and Georgia the waitress was very knowledgeable about all the courses, and service was great
Yesterday I took a friend to lunch and we had a delicious time. From my perspective, with multiple food intolerances,I know I can have a fantastic meal with no repercussions . The staff adjust meals/sauces/dressings helpfully, and list the various meal choices for me.
My friend enjoyed her first experience of Mason's and we celebrated her recent surgery and return to health.
Keep it happening Mason's!
Can not praise this restaurant enough, Masons never fails to deliver high quality food, service and atmosphere. We always leave feeling so full, satisfied and happy. Thank you so much!!
yum yum yum yum yum yum always an amazing experience
Enjoyed the Roaming lunch. It was superb. A great variety of tastes. Enough food for hubby and I washed down with some nice craft beers.
Highly recommend Masons to all.
We were delighted with our meal. The food presentation was exceptional ,such attention to detail. A great menu ,good variety of food that I would not normally cook at home.A great experience we enjoyed with friends including a chef from Melbourne.
A lovely evening at Masons for Christmas get together with friends.Although very busy, staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The roaming menu absolutely delicious. Thanks for a fantastic night
Fantastic on all fronts. The $72 roaming menu was better than anything I’ve had for the price and as good as anything I’ve eaten in the last year.
Impeccable service and great atmosphere on a busy night. Nothing whatsoever to fault here. 👏🏻
Like most other 5 star reviews indicate, my visit to Masons of Bendigo was very pleasant. The interior decor of the restaurant was bright and warm with hip music, staff attentive and friendly, and the foods absolutely delicious. The Lunch Roaming Menu we had came with 7 dishes was a steal at less than $37 per person. Highly recommended.
Will come back for:
+ Hare Terrine
+ Morton Bay tails
+ Brussel sprout salad
+ Chicken Ballotine
+ Beef Sirloin
What a gem of a spot! The presentation of the dishes were great, but the balance of flavours, texture and generosity of the serving size made all of the dishes outstanding for sharing. I won’t single out any single dish, but all the ones we had (see list above) were loaded with fresh ingredients that was locally sourced and well treated. We were here for an early dinner, and the service was super quick and friendly. Prices are fine dining, but certainly worth the price you pay for the dishes. The place filled up quickly though with lots of happy locals which is always a great sign. Everything on the menu sounded great, so we will definitely need to be back to sample the other options!
Such delectable local produce served in such a beautiful artistic way. Really enjoyed the smoked miso butter, fried caramel eggplant and lamb rump, neck and belly. Please teach your wait staff how to pour beer! Half a can poured with glass upright produces half a glass of head...
Our party of 4 took the sharing menu. Very enjoyable. Staff good & food creative. Dishes they selected for us to share were all good. Drinks list quite different with local emphasis.
I really enjoyed my experience at Masons.
The food is outstanding ... with wonderful flavours with artistic presentation. We had the dumplings, beef cheeks, chicken and sides of vegetables. All delicious.
Extensive wine list that will satisfy all palates. Highly recommend.
In the same way that many world class restaurants throughout France and Italy proudly showcase their food and wine provenance , Masons of Bendigo proudly and innovatively showcase the many local producers of pork, chicken, beef, cheeses, limes, fruit, salt, etc and of course a wonderful diversity of wine styles and varieties.
We have been several times and every time, an impressive and different experience.
We chose the “Roaming Menu”, leaving the chef to choose the best of local produce. It comprises three smaller dishes, a large dish, to side dishes and the Mason Tasting Plate for dessert. (It is normally $34 and a very large selection of small desserts). At $69.50 per person, it is great value and a wonderful way to enjoy a broad selection of the menu.
We started with a glass of the Mitchell Harris Sabre sparkling from Macedon. A classy, dry sparkling.
Fresh whole meal sourdough was served, with local butter to start our adventure.
Our first entree, ‘Truffle’ potato croquettes comprising truffle aioli, carbon crumbed, flaxseed and Parmesan crisps.; an incredible combination of subtle flavours and melted in your mouth.
Next was the Ginger and Chicken dumplings with green papaya, rice crisp, lime leaf, Tom Kha broth; as good as I’ve had anywhere in Asia. A wonderful Thai/ Vietnamese mix of flavours. We needed a spoon to pick up all the broth which we did not wish to waste.
We then enjoyed sharing Fried Pepper Green farm eggplant with kohlrabi, macadamias, coconut, chilli caramel dressing with very juicy, local lime; a refreshing, slightly spicy, Asian dish.
The shared main was the McIvor Farm Berkshire pork belly, crumbed pigs tail terrine, with persimmon, morcilla and fried brassica. I am not normally a big fan of pork belly but this had plenty of tender pork. The accompanying dishes were fried new season potatoes with Japanese golden curry mayonnaise. It went perfectly with the pork, as did the steamed organic broccoli with fried shallots.
To accompany the meal we had the full bodied 2017 Whistling Eagle Rose from the Heathcote region. It is full bodied from Sangiovese grape and crisp, dry finish.
After a short break, the piece de resistance, the very generous Masons Tasting Plate for dessert, a variety of small serves of desserts including passionfruit creme brûlée, camel milk pannacotta, chocolate marquis and others.
Our dining experience was a wonderful insight to the produce and wines of the region. Professional, attentive staff who knew their food and wine menu well.
For a special night and way to learn more about the region, I would highly recommend Masons of Bendigo but important to book. They have a 6 and 8 pm sitting.
We really enjoyed the food and service here especially decanting the young blackjack Shiraz block 6 so that we could enjoy it in the time we had. Chefs choice menu for $67 per person was an excellent way to see just how they used local product. My standout dish was the eggplant because every flavour added to but didn’t overpower the other. Lamb plate wonderful and dessert platter huge for two people, great if you have a sweet tooth. We couldn’t get through all the food and loved the asian flavours shining through.
Eat. Sleep. Create. Repeat.

Modern Australian fusion with ingredients from different culture. 7 coarse lunch. Great value. Most dishes are creative, colourful and tasty; especially the ones using local ingredients showing chefs heart with Bendigo. Where ingredient of Asian will need a bit more favours and thoughts... maybe Viet herbs?
Stopped there for lunch during our day trip. The vibe was great, and food looked fantastic. Staff was pleasant. The pairing if the ingredients was a bit weird, but that could just be me.
One of the best fine dining venues in Bendigo. Starter was a cultured butter with home made bread. Cultured butter gives that real buttery flavour. We ordered duck dish & salmon dish. Duck was perfectly cooked with crispy skin highlighted in the dish with fresh figs & pate globules, perfectly plated to balance out the fatty ness of the dish & flavours. Salmon dish had salmon roe with slices of cucumber perfectly layered. Well constructed dishes. We ordered tasting plate of all desserts & they all well prepared. Modern ambiance however tiny bit crowded inside. Staff appeared attentive. Price tiny bit towards high end dining rates. Though the dishes thoughtfully constructed, it lacking of complexity or the wow factor to a degree comparatively to similar fine dining venues. Overall compared to quality of the dishes, service, ambiance & taste against price gives an overall score of 4.4*
This is my favourite restaurant in all of Australia. Innovative, delicious food with unique ingredients and flavours that still manages to be unpretentious. We were here for lunch on Sunday and had a set menu that cost us $35 each! I couldn't believe it. Terrific value for money though I would've gladly paid more because the food was just incredible.
A quick business trip to Bendigo required for a good lunch option and where better than Masons of Bendigo. This 1 Hat restaurant 2 years running (2016 & 2017) delivered on all fronts from start to finish...well almost and it was probably only due to preference in taste.
We came here for lunch and had the $35.5 express menu where the kitchen decides what you're going to have and boy was it delicious. It all started with a potato croquette! And, it was just the right amount of food too though we must say it was very vegetarian driven with only one meat (chicken) dish.
Service: waitress her served us from start to finish was delightful and very helpful. Short blonde hair - should've got her name. Everyone else too who brought out a drink or a food serving also...👌! All for a very reasonable price - even if you did go A la Carte.
Parking: ample street parking and we ended up getting a spot literally right in front. We were seated right at the front of house too.
Think this will be our go to foodie hang when in Bendigo and you should make it yours too! Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!
Never have I had a disappointing experience at Masons. I love their seasonal menu and how they go beyond to challenge creativity on every dish offered on the menu. This place has definitely hold its years of reputation as being one of Bendigo's finest restaurants, infusing western and Asian flavours into their cuisine.
Bookings are essential.
Excellent fusion food and desserts. Good ambience, tasteful decoration with top notch service. Food can be a bit pricey, but a good place to splurge in a good meal
1hatted Restaurant in this tiny town. Tried to book for dinner last minute but it was full, so we settled on lunch prior to our departure back to Melbourne. Nice fresh cozy restaurant with so much menu selection to choose from (entree and large shared dishes) we were quite overwhelmed with their various menu selection hence we opted for their lunch degustation which includes 6 of their entrees and 1 sides picked by the chef. We were surprised that by the end of it we were much fuller than we anticipated.
In my opinion the food were mediocre, thou nevertheleas still a nice dining experience. The only one that stood up the most for me was the pork in betel leaf, it was pretty tasty. I'd come back and try their dinner degustation if i happend to visit town again. Price wise was surprisingly very good, our light lunch course set us back only $34.50 and full course at $64.50. Recomended for you to try if you are in bendingo or looking for a dining experience.
What a special treat for a birthday dinner! Food was gorgeous and delicious! Particularly loved all the entrées and dessert platter. Exceptional service. Impeccable dining experience overall. Definitely lived up to its hatted rating. Definitely worth the drive from Melbourne! ❤️
Amazing!
My partner and I had a road trip to have lunch here after reading an article on Facebook and it did not disappoint.
Our waiter was a tall gentleman that had recently moved to Bendigo after living in Melbourne for 11 years (sorry couldn't remember his name) and he was amazing. By far the best customer service I have experienced since moving to Australia 4 years ago. Took the time to talk us through the menu options and recommend wine and food. We decided on the roaming menu which is selected by the chef.
The food is seriously good. Delicious, full of flavour and very well presented as you will see in my pictures. I honestly could not pick a favourite.
Well worth the 2 hour drive from Melbourne and will be coming back!
Superb food presentation and creative menu, basing itself now exclusively around local produce (barring the seafood, I did cheekily query the origin of the MB bugs) I love a restaurant that embraces local, seasonal food.
There were many positives: the menu is great and difficult to choose just a few to taste. We had 3 starters and 2 mains and were stuffed, but with commitment to my reviewing passion we forced down the dessert tasting plate also. There were many great highlights so the few niggles are just pickiness, which s 2 hatted Restaurant should welcome: our fig entree should have come 2nd or 3rd, not first. And I wish the figs had been lightly toasted. Every dish seemed to be come out with a different description from the menu, which was a bit confusing. But ultimately we had a wonderful experience, and look forward to going back.
Went here for my birthday and tried the " Roaming Menu" as we both hadn't been before. We couldn't have been happier with the selection. Don't be fooled by the small looking portions, it was a struggle to get through everything for the two of us, but a struggle we loved pushing ourselves to get though.Just everything was spot on 👌🏼
Food was devine, cocktails were delish, staff were really attentive. All round a great dinning experience.
Worth our trip to Bendigo after dining in here! Had such a great night here. Love their entree, just so tasty. Especially the quail, we were fighting for the last bite! Larger dish is a bit heavy for me, but my husband enjoyed them so much. Tasting dessert plate was amazing, must try! Food, drinks, service and vibes were literally flawless.
this place really lived up to its excellent reviews ... positive experience started even before I arrived ... I was contacted and advised that my table was ready ... staff was friendly and helpful ... must try the Bendigo brewed beers on the menu ... tried the Tassie salmon ... beautifully done with squid ink crisps and seasonal greens which provided different flavours and textures ... ended with dark chocolate delice dome, white chocolate soft centre, chestnut crisps and mandarin sorbet ... it was a delightful dining experience
You can not fault this place. The food here is not just divine to eat, it's like art on a plate. Their commitment to serving local produce is fantastic. I also can't believe how cheap it is for what it is. We usually get out with a smaller docket than if we had a pub counter meal!
This place is amazing. A must go to if in Bendigo. The food here is incredible. Fine dining and so well executed. The food is generous in serves too so total value for money. I love the idea of sharing plates both small and large. A great way to try different dishes. I wish this place was in Melbourne. We will be back for sure even if we drive 1.5 hours for a meal!!!
Food that you would eat at home, but MUCH better! Highlights were the kaitifi cigars, gnocchi, Kent pumpkin (OMG) and kipfler potatoes. Excellent execution of flavours and textures with beautiful presentation. Vanilla brûlée for dessert was a winner. Only criticism is that we ordered about 6 of the small plates and they were brought out one at a time like it was a degustation (which it wasn't). It meant that is was a very long time before we got to our mains! Would have preferred at least two small dishes at a time. Everything else was great though, highly recommended.
We took a day trip for the main purpose of lunch at Masons. The food was certainly worth it, the service not so much. We had delicious arancini, scrumptious scallops, outstanding cigars, and good pork belly as starters (I don't really like pork belly, so I may be too harsh on this dish). For mains, we got beef cheek, chicken, and duck. The chicken and duck were delicious, juicy, flavorful. I didn't try the beef cheek but my dinner companions enjoyed it. We ordered one dessert sample plate to share between the six of us, and the amount of food was certainly more than sufficient. With a few glasses of wine the total came to $65 per person, which is good value for the high quality of the food.
What detracted a bit from the experience was the service. Our waitress was very friendly but forgetful. We had to ask for wine several times, asked her twice to turn down the (glacial) air conditioning before the temperature became more bearable, and weren't able to change our mains order after starters even though she had initially suggested that it would be no problem. Other than the overactive a/c, I personally didn't like the space much but your mileage may vary. The food is definitely worth a visit though.
With an elegant yet contemporary decor, Masons of Bendigo is a food-lover's delight. Their modern twist on Asian and Western cuisine always has people coming back for more (and it never disappoints)!
Bendigo is extremely lucky to have this restaurant setting the standard for casual fine-dining food in regional Victoria.
Tip: Order the dessert tasting plate - you'll be grateful to finish off your meal with most of their beautifully presented and delicious sweet treats!
I visited Masons of Bendigo on four occasions.
The menu; Changes seasonally, plenty of options to choose from and to suit all palates and dietary requirements.
Ambience; Casual
Cuisine; Modern Australian with Asian and middle eastern influences. You can feel that the chef is extremely passionate and committed to source the ingredients locally and from a vast array of producers.
The food; Beautifully plated with bold flavours and enjoyable combinations without odd ingredients or textures. Generous portions
The service; Friendly and attentive always correct
Cellar; good selection of Australian wines and beers with more than reasonable prices
Value; One of the best value for money relations in VIC
We were spending the day in Bendigo to check out the Marilyn Monroe exhibition, and made a fuel stop at Masons of Bendigo. Between the two of us, we shared three small plates - George's fried cauliflower cheese zucchini flowers with smoked paprika mayo, pickles and lemon, the McIvor farm Berkshire pork belly skewers with green mango, macadamia, coconut caramel and lime and the char siu chicken and Chinese mushroom steamed buns. The food was exhilarating, and not something I would have expected to find in regional Victoria. The broadsheet guide to Bendigo did give a pretty big nod to this sweet spot though. The accompanying Glenfiddich 15 yo was served with Whisky rocks, instead of ice cubes, always an appreciated touch. The place apparently gets pretty full, so wouldn't hurt to make a reservation beforehand. The service was 🙏
The wine list was impressive as well, and they also had an array of local brews. Didn't try the desserts or the cheeseboard, but they did sound tres delicioux! #WanderVictoria
I took my mum here for lunch after we visited the Marilyn Monroe exhibition on Saturday; it was a fantastic choice. We shared four of the 'small plates' which were all great. Mum had the Moreton Bay Bugs followed by the Pork Belly Satays. I chose the Beetroot Arancini followed by the Lamb. We shared the Zuchinni salad which had the best salsa verde I have had. The 'small plates' were not that small so there was no room for desert- but I have promised to drive from Melbourne back to Bendigo to take my mum there again. The service was wonderful - so was the choice in wine. Thanks for a fabulous experience.
Service was great and food was nice.
We thought as its tapas, the food will be mini and we might need to order a lot, then we ordered 5 small plates, 1 bigger plates and thought about ordering their tasting dessert. End up we were super full after finishing our 5th small plates. The most special was the prawn salad.
The fact that it was bustling and busy on a Tuesday afternoon is probably testament to how great Mason's of Bendigo is. It was our first time, and we were very impressed by the quality of the food, the setting and the service (it made up for us getting lost and ending up at the Queen Street in Kangaroo Flats!). The menu is creative and features exotic flavours (currently there appears to be a tilt towards the Asian). Seated at the high table, we could see right over into the open kitchen - it was a true delight to watch the team of chefs efficiently yet artfully put together dishes at such high speeds too! As for the food - everything tasted excellent, and was no doubt a work of art in itself. We were served freshly baked semi-sourdough bread with miso butter, which was really quite innovative. I'm not a fan of spring rolls in generally, but the duck san choy bau spring rolls were something else! Not your typical spring roll! Delicious! Another standout was George's fried zucchini flowers - the surprise being they are masterfully stuffed with spicy cauliflower! Arancini balls were also great. As for the mains- the charred 58 (or was it 52?) hour beef brisket was so succulent and flavoursome! The salmon was beautifully done, wish delicious morsels of rice crackers and balls of 'prawn fried rice' which complemented each other perfectly. I especially liked the acknowledgements of their sources for their fresh produce. Overall, our experience at Mason's was excellent and hard to flaw - perhaps next time we'll have enough room for desserts (which looked spectacular, just saying!) Just to end, thankyou to the staff for accommodating us at short notice at this busy Christmas period, and of course, for being friendly and professional throughout.
We went here on a week night (Wednesday) and the place was busy. The service was friendly and prompt and the food looked and tasted amazing. A bit cold sitting by the door so I would suggest sitting further inside.
Totally love this restaurant ! It never disappoints with a seasonally changing menu, friendly staff explain & serve artfully created dishes that leave me planning my next return to try the other delicious offerings. 💐 you can taste the pleasure these chefs put into their food & presentation. The staff actually welcome you!
Been twice. Interesting, innovative menu. Great advocacy of local producers and ingredients from the region. Attentive service, with personality. Buzzing vibe, without being overcrowded like some other restaurants around. Great value - not cheap but half the price of restaurants elsewhere with comparable quality.
I went as part of a group of 5 recently to celebrate a birthday. The only problem was that all we talked about the whole time was the food!
Great place..ambience was warm and comfortable but at the same time modern. The waiter was helpful and friendly but we felt like he was a little too pushy on the number of dishes to order. Than God we did not listen to him because we couldn't even finished half of what new recommended. The portion size is great and well worth the $$!! Love the presentation and the produce was may so fresh and y yum! We had the goat and barramundi dishes ..which we would highly recommend. .. and omfg... please have the goat and curd starter thing...it was soooo yummmm! Definitely coming back!
It's very had to find fault with this restaurant - a superb dinning experience. Great flavours, authentic real food, nicely presented and outstanding service from unpretentious friendly staff. I forgot nice wine list and reasonable prices! Even the house made sour dough bread with smoked miso butter was a great start to the meal. We tried 4 savoury dishes and 2 deserts and they were all amazing. I love there passion for and support of local producers.
We are planning to drive from Melbourne again just to visit this gastronomic destination!
Generally outstanding. Have tried many of the dishes and I must recommend the carpaccio. I can't remember having a tastier dish. Also the prawn and crispy pork hock salad is a must. I was a little disappointed in the soft shell mud crab salad but everything else I have ever had there is superb.
Superb evening. Myself + 5 girlfriends, in Bendigo for the weekend, had an absolutely beautiful dining experience from start to finish at Mason's. We chose the (ridiculously) reasonably priced "Roaming Menu" (http://www.masonsofbendigo.com.au/menu/) and found ourselves unable to finish, much as we wanted to. Each tasting plate was beautifully presented and the chef catered really well for our 2 coeliacs. They didn't miss out in any way. Nick was a great waiter and our wine was also lovely. On a par with a top notch Melbourne restaurant any day of the week. A must do if in Bendigo and wanting a really good dinner out.
Fantastic! Always the most amazing dishes! I would highly recommend the chef, staff and outstanding food!
Very impressed! Booked on the day and were very accommodating! The service was exceptional! We have children and love that good restaurants serving good food are happy for the kids to be with us. The food was beautiful and fresh with perfectly balanced flavours. Loved it! We will be back next time we are in Bendigo!
Masons of Bendigo kicked off our 24 hour food frenzy in the beautiful town of Bendigo. They are a beautiful establishment, with high ceilings and bright lighting. The wait staff are efficient, polite and the manger is enthusiastic about his work and the locals. They cater to dietary requirements with ease and extra servings for the dishes. We were starving by the time we reached Masons, so we started with some Hand Cut Royal Blue Potato Chips with aioli ($8.0) while we were waiting. They were great and disappeared in like ten seconds. Complimentary carbs arrived, which was an in-house made Milk Bread with delicious Smokey Miso Infused Butter. I would buy a whole loaf and pot of this butter, and then just om-nom-nom in the surrounding Bendigo gardens. HASHTAG DROOL.
We went to mason for a special day out the food was really good this restaurant would rival any in melbourne, hope they last, I will go back to masons, the prices were a little high but for a special occasion I would recommend it.
Just finished my meal at Masons- absolutely fantastic! The flavours were clean and fresh with everything being delicious. I'd highly recommend the wild rabbit in Arabian spices and the chocolate tasting plate. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.
The only complaint I have is that I won't be able to dine there again soon.
10/10

We had the roaming menu and would definitely recommend it .. Don't ask for extra bread and come hungry as there is a LOT of food .. All the flavours were delicious - friendly and attentive service - wins all round!
One of the best dinners I've ever had. Great tasting food and friendly staff. We were visiting bendigo for the weekend and wanted a special dinner for our only night here. Well we certainly got that- the food was absolutely delicious. Every plate was great but I especially loved the calamari, the prawns and the beetroot gnocchi. The deserts were also pretty good. We sat outside and it was a lovely balmy night for October. Overall a great experience
Brilliant. Efficient, friendly service- but the food is the star here. We had the cauliflower croquettes, scallops, then the larger dishes of Yapunyah chicken and the beetroot gnocchi with royal blue hand cut chips on the side.Omg. There were three of us and it was perfect proportions along with the free bread and butter with our savoury bites. This was recommended by Nick, and it was spot on. The dessert chocolate platter was just as brilliant. Even the sugar is amazing here-organic Panela sugar for our coffee is caramel and full flavoured. We are addicted. We will be nack. We know this is a small thing but we also watched the floor staff clean not only the table- but the chairs and underneath of the table, the salt container and the pepper pod before resetting. That is attention to detail!
Highlight of Bendigo dining. Spent a couple of weeks in Bendigo for work, tried quite a few of the cafes, pubs and restaurants about town. Masons was definitely the highlight and most memorable dining experience. Paid $48.50 for the roaming menu (Chef's selection) and was more than pleased with the food. Dishes all hit the mark in terms of quantity, flavour and texture, and the items were varied in cuisine/style yet complemented each other very well. Service was friendly and well-paced, and staff were happy to help cater for my vegetarian friend.
Best place for a special night out in Bendigo!
Bendigo Brilliance. We dined at Masons today for lunch, the entrees were absolutely fabulous, the flavors were well balanced and showed a skilled kitchen was behind their creation. The main was just as good, although it didn't stop their, the service was just a s good with the waiting staff confidentially suggesting food and guiding our experience. My food arrived just as my parking meter ran out and i couldn't stand to miss eating my meal so i asked the waiter if he would mind putting some money in the meter which he gladly did. The wine list was also well done show casing the local region. Make this your number one priority when in Bendigo!
Beyond Excellent. By far the best good in Bendigo. Service is great, staff are very attentive. Cannot ask for more including the very very reasonable prices!!! Love it!
Fantastic!. Had an amazing experience here, service was excellent, the food was extremely good at reasonable prices. Loved the entrees in particular. Would definitely revisit!
Excellent truly excellent in EVERY aspect and consistently so !
A must-do according to My Son - and he was right. A super place for a girls' lunch which other groups obviously knew too! A couple of suits as well so masons are catering for a range of foodies. Price very reasonable and a pity we had to continue our journey..
Upmarket food, but good price. Have been there twice now, and just love it. Very unique dishes, with just amazing flavors and textures. well timed service too. It has a very nice environment, relaxed, while being very neat and classy. Waitress's were very friendly and attentive.
Dinner for six last night was a treat. Loved the share plates of beautifully presented savoury bites - crispy flathead tails with red chilli jam mayonnaise, pork belly skewers were the best ever. We tried a large selection of vegetable and sides with our larger share dishes of lamb shanks and Inglewood dry aged ribeye. Cauliflower salad with almonds, raisins and buttermilk dressing was something I'll be going back to have again...along with the other dozen or so dishes we couldn't get to this time. Service was professional. Well worth a trip from Melbourne. Loved it all.
Amazing!. We dined at Mason's last night. I wanted some place special for my birthday. We were greeted promptly and seated, given an overview of how the menu worked and ordered several amazing dishes. The restaurant was quite busy, but staff was attentive, always doing something and they were unintrusive.
We enjoyed soft shelled crabs, pork belly, duck, and rabbit. Each dish was well presented, tasty, had beautiful fresh ingredients that worked beautifully together. I was in heaven! Thank you, Nick, Sonia & team.
We had a delicious meal at masons of Bendigo tonight . A burst of flavor in every mouthful.. Would highly recommend this restaurant ..
Great food and service a great addition to Bendigo
Enthralled by flavors and service. Texture, flavor and intrigue is all I can say for this stunning menu, extensive but not overwhelming, with great flavors and some challenging ones for my fellow diners. Curious with their wonderful style of dinning, a wonderful sense of a communal feast added to the atmosphere, as did the service the staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and accompanying wines, tho there was a minor problem with one of our starters, apologies were swift and sincere and seen to with a complimentary side of duck spring rolls, which I must say were a highlight and well recommended.
Many thanks to the chef and team I will return!
Simply excellent. Country dining at the highest levels, using top quality local produce an eclectic mix of flavours matched with some creative presentation and great service. A perfect recipe, thank you.
The Bees' knees'. Masons is the best restaurant in Bendigo by far. First time round had the soft shell crab and the dumplings, Ginny the waitress suggested our wines for the mains and they were REALLY well suited. For mains we had the duck and the rib eye, both more than just a meal, it was a 'savour every mouthful' experience. Usually I'm not interested in desserts, but because of the atmosphere there we had one each - they were little colourful presents that you had to look at and admire before eating, mine was the mousse, it looked like a little garden - so cute and fun to eat. Going back there tonight! Glad they were able to fit us in - Highly recommend
Wow!. Took advantage of the fact that I am on holidays and had lunch here with hubby today. All I can say is wow! This is a Bendigo gem.
We started with the smoked tomato and manchego croquettes, followed by the rabbit kataifi with preserved lemon aioli, which unfortunately was not lemony enough to provide the much needed bite this dish required. Next came the asparagus with whipped buffalo ricotta, broad beans and chimichurri dressing, which was light, fresh and very tasty. This was followed by the McIvor Farm Berkshire pork, with quinoa, pork belly and pistachio salad, morcilla and apple and also the beetroot gnocchi with Holy Goat fromage frais, onion, baby spinach and salsa verde. We then had a cheese course - the Berry Creek Blue - before sharing the chocolate mouse for dessert.
The setting is a bit sterile for my taste, but the food is seriously good and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
Can safely it is by far the best restaurant in bendigo! The food quality and presentation was fantastic. We had 3 starters, 1 main and 3 sides to share and everyone of them were Devine. I don't know if I can go back to eating normal food after the taste sensation I just experienced. 5 stars! Thank you for a wonderful night Masons of Bendigo
This is one of the best places in Bendigo to eat. Shared starters included mud crab, pork dumplings and flathead. The mains consisting of delicious rabbit and pheasant were delightful. Lots of local produce used and the wines are high quality.
Bendigo? No! AMAZING!. We have been trying to get to here for some time now. Aren't we glad we did!
Last minute booking meant we were seated at the kitchen table which was just awesome. Watching the food being prepared and chatting to the chefs took it from a meal to an experience.
The food served here is exceptional and nothing in Bendigo comes close!
Well done guys, you are killing it!
Will be back..... and again.... and again!
