I visited a few weeks ago with my niece, it has one of the best stout collections on offer I've seen in a small bar. The owner took time to explain all flavours and recommend tastes. He did the same with my niece who liked lighter flavoured pale ales. He poured the beers in the appropriate glass and had a chat we us for a few minutes. I highly recommend this bar. I live in Sydney, I'll be going back soon.
Breakfast menu is small but will cater for everyone, service prompt and friendly, couldn't be faulted. A lot quieter than a 'cafe' and a must for anyone looking for a great breakfast.
A fab little bar in cool Chancery Lane, the Dispensary is a nice place for an intimate date night or a catch up with friends. With a fabulous wine list, we always take time to stop in here whenever we are in Bendigo.
It has a chic European vibe, and sitting outside in the quirky alleyway is really fun, especially on a nice day. With lovely service and an interesting food menu, this tiny bar is a little bit of French chic in country Victoria.
Stumbled upon this place by accident. Loved the vibe of it. I was craving some mulled wine on this cold afternoon, and asked the owner/bartender Finn - who said he would happily whip some up for us! We sat outside and he came out to turn the heaters on for us without us asking.
The mulled wine was AMAZING!!!! Best I've ever tasted. He said it was a family recipe, and happily spoke to us about the ingredients, letting us taste some of the lesser-known stuff he added in. Really felt like a personal experience here. We couldn't have been happier to have found this place. Will definitely return if we're ever back in the area! Thank you so much for making our afternoon!!!
Very friendly and attentive staff. I had the duck breasts that were seriously good and all the food was amazing. Extensive drinks list with an exceptional range of gin and whisky. The cocktails are fantastic with some unique twists on old classics. Best dirty martini I have had in ages.
Really enjoyed this small restaurant on Saturday night. We had a table in the laneway but it was quite comfortable under the heater & awning. Food which we shared was great & the drinks were too. Great margarita which was orange & vanilla flavoured - not too sweet - hit the spot. Some of our party also enjoyed their whiskies. Our waiter was terrific - very helpful with our food & drinks selection & with a touch of humour. We will definitely return on our next visit to Bendigo.

My group and I had a splendid experience at The Dispensary. Our meal was beyond delectable... One of the best even in comparison to all I've had the pleasure of trying throughout Melbourne and other foodie regions throughout the state.
We had the yellow fin tuna and kangaroo tartare to start, the duck and chicken for main and shared a crème brûlée for dessert. 15/10, loved every single dish. The duck and the sauce that accompanied it were out of this world.
A charming place with such a good vibe on a Saturday night. Delicious drinks menu and reasonably priced.

Fantastic service, staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. The steamed bao buns were delicious! Such a great atmosphere, can’t wait to try it in summer with the outdoor tables, we will definitely be back!
Absolute gem! This place would hold its own in any major city. Wine and alcohol list amazing, food really tasty and high quality. Steamed duck bao best I’ve had. Shout out to staff - wowee do they know their wine!...and in a non pretentious, friendly way which is rare to find. Can’t recommend highly enough.
The dish risotto with mushrooms was amazing probably one of the best things I have had in a while.
Cocktails are a little too strong for a girl who likes her over sweet drinks but no complaints.
Will be returning!
What a great night! Booked for my Rotary Club from Emerald in Dandenong Ranges, as we had travelled up for a conference. Added a couple of extra people at the last minute, which was no problem. Tim and Sam were wonderful. Fun and relaxed atmosphere, service excellent, food was delicious (loved the croquettes and swordfish) and delectable desserts, not to mention a brilliant shiraz recommended by Sam. Thank you!!
