It’s been ages since we have been to the Lake View Hotel at 204 McCrae Street. The night we went the place was packed, obviously very popular. The Bistro was full too so we had our meals in what I would call a pretty elaborate sports bar with everything streaming in on the big screens. This however did not detract from the various, and many dining areas though. My 5 stars go to the chef for my delicious Open Lamb Souvlaki with diced tomato, cucumber, olives, lettuce, fetta & Greek yogurt with falling apart lamb, which was sensational. Well done!

The steak was cooked as ordered (medium rare)
and it was delicious. I enjoyed my meal so as my friends that are with me. They had the following and they recommend it (not to mention they are Chefs themselves) LVH burger, Salt&pepper calamari, Fillet mignon,Haloumi chips.

Great food and beer was fresh. This pub was buzzing while we were there, so you know the place is popular with visitors and locals.
It’s how a venue handles a problem that gives you the opportunity to find out what’s important to a venue, and a small issue with an entree was handled fast effectively and without fuss, this venue genuinely cares about its patrons.

We made a large group booking for dinner online as it was right next door to our Accomodation. Management were quick to respond to our request and very accommodating. Fabulous menu with a large variety of reasonably priced dishes that were better than your average pub meal. My meal (stuffed chicken breast) was absolutely delicious although came out a little cold.

I had an overnight stay in Bendigo and walked from the lake to the closest pub which was The Lakeview. What luck. The staff were very friendly and super efficient. Food was great and more than I could eat even though I had the small serve. Great surroundings and 3 choices where you could eat. Highly recommend this place.

The meals are excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and attentive. This is a must try pub! It’s worth a drive from Melbourne for lunch.

Big Thankyou to the staff at the Lake View Hotel. We held our Year of 1976 Eaglehawk School reunion on 25th March in the beer garden,and what a great night. The staff were very accomadating, very organised with taking meal orders and very friendly and food was great. I would highly recommend the Hotel.

Ordered wagyu steak medium rare. Waited long time given no else was ordering a meal.
Came out rare, almost uncooked at all, with one long end completely fat - no meat at all and virtually raw. Chips were horrible - had been reheated at least twice. Very hard with no potato left inside - just more pieces of fried fat. Asked for a takeaway container for the dog and staff member happy to wrap it up in gladwrap, asking "How was it?"
When I said raw, hence taking it home for the dog, he said "Yeah I thought it looked rare" but never offered a refund!

Wow - What a beautiful start we just enjoyed to our Friday! We had a group of 20 ladies meeting for a (pre work) breakfast. Set in the lovely alfresco area which has been extremely well renovated. Warm and prompt service, delicious coffee & breakfast was incredible!! Highly recommend for any occasion.

Recently stayed next door to this establishment while travelling for work. We visited this place 4 nights in a row and never had a bad meal. Great selection of meals, wines and beers. Will be back next year without a doubt. Do yourself a favour and try the chicken wings �

Is this the best pub in Victoria? Dined here 2 nights in a row. The Staff, food and atmosphere was second to none. Never had such service or food like this anywhere in Australia. Don't ever change a thing. We'll be back

Ordered the scotch fillet steak with "wild mushroom sauce". Steak was fatty, served on top of soggy chips with a few limp greens. Mushrooms were out of a tin, the whole meal was cold and took ages to arrive. They charged extra for public holiday surcharge - yet it wasn't a public holiday! 1st and last time we'll eat there!

Amazing staff! Loved every bit of it, they even opened the kitchen early for us as we attended the dinner time service 30 minutes early! The staff were so lovely to our daughter, couldn't be more happier! 10/10
