Had a great experience here last week with the 2 kids! 5* food and service and both children were kept entertained by the Teppan chef! The wine list was great and the inclusion of an ice cream to the childrens set menu was a highlight too. We would definitely visit again.
Our experience at Arakawa was incredible! Our kids (aged 5 and under) loved the Teppanyaki experience and the staff were accomodating and fun. The Teppanyaki chef ensured the kids were fed first which made our dining experience more enjoyable. They were also accomodating to food allergies and continuously checked ingredients with us to ensure they were suitable. We were very impressed and our 5 year old son said it was his favourite restaurant ever.
Had the early teppanyaki which was excellent value. Not sure how it’s scored so poorly by others. Our experience was marvellous. Tasty prawns, steak and chicken. Well seasoned rice and even the veggies came up trumps. Yum and yum

Was a great experience. Teppanyaki chef was fantastic. Not the most interactive one I have been too, but plenty of spectacle. Big sherry flames and plenty of laughter and humour for all. Chef had a great way with all the people at the table including the kids. The food was very very tasty. The man across table said it was the best teppanyaki he had ever been too. I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a Japanese experience. Flavoured food, attentive staff, great personalised service. Will go again.
Arakawa is an izakaya-style eatery dedicated first and foremost to the art of Japanese eating and drinking, offering a laid back environment for catching up with friends and family with a focus on quality food designed to share in stylish but comfortable surroundings. The restaurant offers enticing dining options including intricately hand-crafted sushi, traditional a la carte dishes and the thrills of teppanyaki tables. Arakawa also features intimate tatami tables which can be reserved for special occasions.
We have been going to Arakawa for years, usually maybe 4 - 5 times a year. While we prefer a la carte (and havent tried the sushi bar), the teppanyaki side is great and a lot of fun. The teppanyaki set menus (starting at about $60) are awesome value with more food than you could usually eat.
The a la carte menu is also very good, with a large selection. Serving sizes are generally very large for japanese food, especially with the wagyu. The kaiseki meal has 10 courses (about $70) and is massive, and well thought out though there are enough entrees and other small dishes on the menu to create your own kaiseki if you want to chance your arm.
For an entree and main you'd normally be looking at $35 a head or so. For a more elaborate meal, maybe $50 a head, but that would be elaborate and plenty of food and a drink each.
Service is great and very friendly (in keeping with the resort), the drinks good and the service times usually very good. There are no negatives that I can think of.
Fantastic Teppanyaki at a reasonable price. You could put this up against any Teppanyaki restaurant and would not be disappointed. Highly recommended

Ours friends are currently staying at the RACV resort and Arakawa is one of the restaurants inside the resort. It's in its own corner and very quiet outside the restaurant. We booked for 6pm on Sunday night (they're closed Monday and Tuesday) but it didn't get busy until 6:30-7pm. The restaurant was designed beautifully with light wood tables and screens and dividers for separate areas. We sat at one of the two teppanyaki tables and all ordered sets. The set I ordered was the vegetarian ($47) and the others dining with me all ordered the Muraski ($69). Both sets started with a seaweed salad and a pumpkin miso custard. I really enjoyed the custard as it was warm and different in flavour to the usual sweets custards I eat. The salad was also enjoyable and the dressing was nice. After that I was served the grilled eggplant (not pictured) that was beautifully displayed and covered in a dark sauce.
The meals from then one were cooked in front of us by the funny and talented chef that I think was called Alexander. He made me a delicious tofu steak (not pictured) but half-way through I started feeling full so I didn't finish it since there was still a few things coming. My friends also really enjoyed their seafood plate and chicken/beef plates. The chef then made fried rice for us all and it was really amazing, but again extremely filling and way too much for my small stomach.
We ended the meal with a delicious mango sorbet and left very, very full. The whole experience was definitely worth the money but I felt terrible that I couldn't finish all the food because I wasn't expecting such a large portion of food. The service was lovely and it's a great teppanyaki restaurant.
Good Quality Japanese. We ate here tonight as we are staying at the resort for a wedding. We chose to eat in the A la carte section although you can choose to do teppanyaki as well. Service is very good and what you would expect at a resort of Royal Pines standard. We ordered the Bento boxes which offer a great selection of everything and work out to be excellent value for money. Ours came with Miso, Steamed rice, choice of chicken or beef teriyaki, tempura, sashimi and chefs selection of entrees. All really lovely clean flavours and good quality produce. I didn't get to try my shashimi as am pregnant and unable to eat it but my husband scoffed my portion and told me that it was really nice. Over all we enjoyed the meal and found it to be a high quality experience. Would definitely recommend especially for those who enjoy good quality sashimi.
Incredibly authentic, closest you can get to Japan on the Gold Coast. Food is fresh and very well made. Sushi bar is an absolute must.
Excellent value for money. We went there for the first time tonight and ordered the kaiseki course for only 84$ each. Went home with full bellies and smiles 😊
