Always 5 stars! The most authentic Indian food in Melbourne , the spinach delight paneer is so delicious, as well as the potato and eggplants curry ! What a temptation! We love wipe our plates with the tasty garlic naan bread.

Wow, where to start. Ever since these guys started here in Centre rd they've been my go-to Indian takeaway option. Always friendly, recommending me new and different dishes and always delivering in the taste and quality department. For anyone that hasn't had a curry from Swaad, you must do it! They won't disappoint.

Absolutely incredible food and the loveliest staff. The banquet options are excellent value for money and the portions were very filling, we had leftovers!

Tried Swaad for the first time tonight, we only ordered Chicken Tikka with naan and raita...taste buds are still tingling. Delicious!! We will be back :)
Had the butter chicken/mild and garlic and cheese naan and they both were unlike any Indian I’ve had in Melbourne!! A must try and the staff provide and friendly almost personal experience. 10/10!!

My order came quite late on a busy Saturday night but Saby from Swaad went above and beyond to rectify it by generously sending me the exact same order on a different night completely free of charge. The butter chicken was very tasty. Thank you Swaad :)

Vegan Friendly
This is a hidden gem. It’s easy to find an Indian Restaurant with lots of vegetarian options but not as many for vegan options. Our host went to great lengths to explain what was vegan friendly. The food (vegan and non vegan dishes) was fresh and of good quality. The price was a bit high but I recommend going here - especially if you want vegan options
We’ve struggled to find really great curry in Melbourne but Swaad is one of the best we’ve found. Their sauces have a nice depth of flavour and they’re happy to adjust the spice level if necessary. We always order the meat tasting platter to start and it’s a nice blend of flavours and gives you a good chance to sample their different entrees.
They offer both dine in and take away and service is equally friendly for both options.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've passed this restaurant by and never gone in. After a recommendation from family, I finally gave it a go. Wowsa. So glad I did.
It was Mother's Day night, and they were busy, but the food came out in good time, and everything was spot on. It's a small place with an odd shape, but they packed a lot of people in, yet you can hear yourself think. The menu isn't too different from other Indian restaurants, but the food itself is really good.
We didn't have any entree/starter/appetiser, but straight on to mains. The butter chicken was delightful. It was flavourful, and spot on. The garlic naan actually had real garlic as opposed to garlic powder which many places use. The rice was lovely and fluffy and it all made for a wonderful meal.
Before they took the dishes away, the owner(?) asked if we loved everything, and wanted to even give us a dessert on the house, but we were too full. Then he asked about our preferences for flavour, as when we come next time, he'll choose something we might like and he'll make a little dish of it so we can try it and expand our palate. That's almost unheard of, but such good service.
The pricing is good, the parking is handy and easy, and overall, I couldn't fault it at all. It's obviously a good local neighborhood gem, but one worth making the trip to. I highly, highly recommend it.
