What a great place, excellent menu variety, always cooked to perfection, when you find something like this you can't keep it to yourself. Everyone must go and try, you won't be disappointed!

Real score 3.6 out of 5. We were visiting friends in the area and decided to check out a few local cafes, one of them being Black Salt. It struck us as being a good cafe. It was doing good business this morning. The barista was flat out and there were plenty of people both in the cafe and getting take away. The coffee was pretty good I’d have to say. Quite tidy. The cafe itself was nicely decorated inside and also has good outdoor seating for the right day. Good to see they hadn’t skimped on staff numbers too. There were a good number around. We enjoyed our coffees. I liked the look of the food on display too. Looks like a good local cafe. I’d happily return anytime.

This is a regular purely as it's on my way to school drop offs. If I wasn't walking past it all the time I don't think I'd go there just for their coffee. Their coffee is good, better some days depending on the barista. Sometimes I find my flat white can be really milky with not enough coffee, other times it's better. My sister's eaten here twice and likes the food and the service overall is very good. One of the ladies there remembers everything; knows how you like your coffee (and knows how to make it), is great with your children, really attentive and funny. For their service I rated them slightly higher. Coffee ok.
The staff here are so friendly. Ordered a drink that wasn't on the menu and they were happy to go out of their way to make it for me. Really enjoyed my scrambled eggs and mushrooms with a croissant.
Absolutely love coming here...all the staff are so friendly and make the time here so much more enjoyable...I love the fact it’s a family business...favourite meals are the smashed avocado (it’s amazing) breakfast bruschetta super salad...I highly recommend this cafe to anyone and everyone :). Now that we have moved into the area I have found my new local coffee shop...the coffee here is to die for..wouldn’t go anywhere else...
I discovered this café a few weeks ago on one of my walks and thought it looked nice. And so yesterday I decided to dine at Black Salt to see what the food was like. I got the chicken schnitzel which (iirc) had pesto and avocado on top with some fries on the side. The schnitzel was amazing, the breading used was nice, crisp and sturdy. The chicken itself was quite succulent and full of flavour. The pesto was creamy, rich and paired well with the soft avocado. The fries were good. The salt was quite noticeable and perhaps a little overused in some areas but nonetheless were tasty. Service was fantastic. The waitresses were polite and the manager was also very kind. I know that I'll return at some point in the future and to try their coffee. Very impressed.
BEST muesli in Melbourne! Service is great, coffee is good (so I've been told) & the smoked salmon & avocado is yum! 😋
Black Salt also does dinner on Friday night - great food, & not expensive! 👍🏼
Always happy and satisfied here! The coffee is great. The staff and lovely and accomodating. It's baby friendly and great for larger group bookings! Definitely a stop to try for brunch or lunch!
Good little breakfast spot, food was exactly what breakfast food should be. The service was good and quick. Not the best dine in experience but was nice.
Love it. Regular hangout spot for me, the food and coffee is great and fairly priced too, the service is also on point! Also love that it's hidden in a small, quiet shopping strip

The food was absolutely delicious.
My husband & father had the calamari & a side of shoestring fries to share - the serve was huge. Both of them struggled! I had the chicken burger & fries. I can honestly say it was one of the best burgers I have had!
And the iced coffee was awesome.
All of us left feeling very full & ready for an afternoon nap!

Black Salt cafe is an excellent place to eat. As part of a couple I attended this place at around 1pm on a Saturday - based on a recommendation - and was not disappointed. Plenty of other diners were present, although it was not full at this time. Food servings were plentiful (my Super Salad with added grilled chicken was enough for 2 and therefore good value at $21) Food quality was of a high standard, as were our tea and coffee choices. Staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful. It proved the perfect choice for a cold Saturday in Winter.
Lovely cafe. Lots of great vegetarian options. Breakfast salad was lovely and fresh with lots of warm greens. Chai and hot chocolate also lovely. Staff were very attentive.

There is good place area. Kids milkshake is awesome and pancakes. There are number of sitting inside the cafe. I like coffee in morning around 8 am and there is a good music with newspaper and coffee. I like they different types of cookies and I recommend that cookies and I generally preferred regular and marshmallow is good. Thanks for good and nice sittings.
Only 1 slice of toast in the big breakfast!!?? that should be illegal, i almost called the police...other than that the breakfast and ice chocolate was amazing. Almost 5 star
They make really good coffee and the foods are so delicious with fresh ingredients! I’d highly recommend these guys if you wanna have a great brekky around this area!
