Perfect locale and ambience. Friendly helpful waitstaff, with just the right level of interaction. For two, we only had three starters (chips, warm olive and chorizo, calamari) and a bottle of Prosecco. Everything was delicious and it was the most enjoyable relaxing long lunch experience which left us with a zen feeling. Definitely recommend.
What an awesome spot - again were going for walk on beach - sun was shining and it was warming up ! The park and beach were busy with moms and tots and the odd cyclist - sea was blue, sand was white ... what more could we ask for except yummy breakfast. I ordered eggs on toast which is hard to mess up and was good, my hubby had bubble and squeak and enjoyed it and surprise ! my brother had the big brekkie - no wonder he has to run every day 😛 .. It was lovely to sit with the windows wide open, a gentle breeze and while away an hour chatting - it wasn't busy and service was friendly and efficient - definitely a spot I would go back to - we then went to see the amazing black swans .. We don't have any of them in Joburg !
We had lunch at Walter's last week and had a great dining experience. I love the decor, it gives the venue an inviting and relaxing vibe. The menu looked great, is modern and seasonal, seems on par with trends, plenty of options and in my opinion it offers something for everyone. I had the salmon brunch because it interested me to know what this dish was all about, and it was amazing! The coffee was fantastic as well, I also took home a raw chocolate and cherry torte, nice and fresh. The service was friendly and casual, and I really appreciated the service of one of the girls who said we must try the pumpkin wedges, her attitude and awareness of her customers requirements exceeded expectation which is sometimes hard to find in Perth. Will definitely be back soon
Lunch with visiting interstate politician to showcase our favourite suburb of Fremantle, Kid meals were good and came put quickly , but adults meals were forgotten, twice! Which was pretty lame as it was only half full. Anyhow we werent in a hurry and meals were tasty. Staff need a rocket under them...
Excellent scenery. This riverside Cafe boasts great food as well as outstanding service. Happy freindly staff makes a very nice place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Great Food Great staff. Popped in for a quick bite after a walk to Blackwall Reach. The beer battered fish and chips was excellent. The accompanying Wirra Wirra Mrs Wrigley's Rose was delightful. I cannot speak too highly of the staff who were all friendly, efficient and effusive. Great experience.
Walters Cafe. Popped into Walters for a quick bite of lunch on Saturday. My wife and I both had the fish and chips with a glass of wine followed by a delicious slice of lemon tart with our coffees. The fish and chips was the best I've had in ages, lemon tart had just the right amount of tangyness without being bitter with the best coffee south of the river.
Haven't been to Walters in years but after Saturdays lunch will definately be coming back soon."
Awesome coffee-and I'm a very fussy coffee lover-so that's saying something. Kate-the new manager here is fabulous! Thank god for a change of management because it's the most stunning location on the River, great for kids, great in all weather-like today a sunny winters day! A real gem with great views and great service-which is usually not the norm in cafés with great outlooks. The food divine. Bread from Barrett's in Nedlands as they are the same business. I'm very happy to have this on my doorstep and am using it for all my business meetings for visiting guests and with friends. Rediscovering Perths great spots! So happy!!!
NEW OWNERS- NEW AMAZING FOOD- NEW AMAZING COFFEE. Just went to Walters today the coffee was PERFECT- gone over to fiori coffee i believe. New menu, amazing fresh tasty food! cant wait o make this my regular again

Passable. Qantas had a promotion to go to Walter's River Cafe, and despite poor reviews we decided to go. The location is very pretty and boasted live jazz with river views. If I were a hipster I would argue the restaurant was a little uncomfortable with it's strobe lights, and the whole place would be better if it were updated a little.
The menu was ok, and the initial seating then delivery of drinks swift and happy. The wait staff were polite, but disorganised. We waited for over 30min for our entrees to materialise and I could not see wait staff in sight when I want to purchase another round of drinks. The main dinner was tasty with average proportions.
Their kitchen does not deal well with variations, I asked them to hold the potatoes (I can't eat carbohydrates / nightshade ) and then found the tasty little things on my plate, which was easily pushed aside. The wait staff found herself apologising for the second time that night, the poor girl.
I would choose to go back to Walter's again, maybe for breakfast as the river views are lost in the dark.
