Tomah Gardens is a gorgeous cosy restaurant I hold good memories of. Perched atop one of the higher points of the Botanic Gardens, its a pretty spot to treat yourself after an earthly explore. I've found the service a little missing from time to time, and I think staff expect commitment to a long lunch with big meals for all, which isn't always the case. I suspect there are also in the same boat who do not know the restaurant exists, pack some snacks for the visit and then decides later to pop in for a coffee and cake.

In winter, the restaurant is beautiful and warm inside, and it often gets windy out on the deck. Otherwise, in the warmer months pick a spot outside to overlook the grounds. The coffee is actually pretty reasonable here, and I've experienced of the best, simplest asparagus and broad bean salads I will not forget. The menu is a little higher end, and although to some extent there is value here, I can understand most of the market here won't see that.

We only had Tea and Scones here, perhaps a little expensive we didn't mind too much because we supposed it goes toward the up keep of the botanic gardens which are free to visit. The Blue berry scones were delicious and great Tea too. Nil problems with the service.

Seasonal focused restaurant at the top of Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens with pretty views of the mountains. Touted one hat eatery though I believe this award was from a few years ago. We came on a special getaway and had a long lunch after a sticky walk around the grounds. The pasta "rags" was novel and delicious while the pot pie was decent but offset by the very expensive $30+ price tag. The highlight was the desserts, a chocolate mousse cake and honey ice cream with raspberry jelly. Despite the deluge of complaints on TripAdvisor about the service I found the staff to be friendly and efficient. Overall a good but pricey experience considering visitors, particularly families would probably prefer a kiosk.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Tomah's garden. It was a gorgeous sunny winter afternoon.... The food was delicious and the view was amazing! The service could have been a little better but it didn't detract from our delightful experience!

Loved it - bookings highly recommended. We read all the reviews on TripAdvisor before we went as we believe in researching where we eat - we are SO glad that we kept an open mind and did not take these reviews as a final judgement of this restaurant and that we came to see ....& taste for ourselves !!
We had lunch there today; we were seated promptly - we HAD booked ( and we would definitely recommend that; there are so many walk-ins who sadly had to wait...) - the wait-staff were efficient; our menus were presented and the drinks we ordered arrived within minutes.
The menu is concise but there is still plenty of choice, we both chose the Duck Liver Pate; which was generous, smooth and delicious with crunchy crackers. We then had the "Chook" and the Pot Pie, again both were very generous portions and faultless - the side of vegetables with the chicken included home grown Rainbow Chard which looked and tasted gorgeous. The corn-fed chicken was golden, and incredibly juicy, the potatoes crunchy and the gravy had a warm subtle tarragon flavour. The Pot Pie ? Can't talk - eating !! For dessert ( well .....you have to don't you ?? ! ) We had the Raspberry Jelly and the Baked Custard, again both beautifully presented and they tasted as good if not better than they looked; slightly sharp jelly and smooth ice cream - the creamiest ever baked custard with syrupy rhubarb and a light crumbly pistachio shortbread...........just perfect....good coffee to finish .....happy, very happy......................and just a l i t t l e bit full !!
We were seated very close to the front door and witnessed firsthand just how popular this restaurant is; a continuous queue of people all wishing they had booked.......Front of House was extremely diplomatic and patient with this.... obviously constant dilemma, and managed to seat everyone as soon as tables became available.
OUR experience here at Mount Tomah Restaurant was wonderful and one that we will be repeating as soon as we possibly can............and we will be forever glad that we did not rely solely on reviews to guide us to a venue with great food, lovely atmosphere and awesome views - we just might try to walk it off next time and enjoy the gardens too - many thanks to all.

After a busy morning picking fruit we went to the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens to take in the beautiful view of the mountains over lunch. Over a glass of rose I enjoyed a salad of grilled summer vegetables with goats feta and pepitas followed by rocket pasta (on the menu as ‘worms’) with basil and baby tomatoes.

I would give this place six stars however some of the parts that are meant to be disability friendly are not sealed properly and are uneven and are a little bit difficult to navigate this is near the rock pool and the bottom but otherwise the rest of the gardens are very easy to navigate especially for those requiring wheelchair access. Plenty of disable parking and accessibility bathrooms. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Wonderful day out.

Its a beautifully maintained garden spread over some 70 acres (+ or -).. Very friendly staff..Your donations go towards the maintenance of the park. Perfect spot to spend some quality time with friends / family, have a little picnic.. My little ones loved exploring the flora range.

Well maintained garden and place worth visting for nature and plants in vibrant colors. One has to climb down and move around to various sections, stone garden, Jurassic and feast your eyes with the beauty of nature. Unfortunately the food outlet was closed due to holiday. Normally visitors bring their own food and drinks and enjoy a days outing. Must place to visit.

I loved this place♥️it is so quite, has natural greenery, small fountains, has picnic spots and of course the beautiful flowers. There were not many flowers at this time but was good. There is one restaurant inside the garden which is okay. The only thing l didn't like is the gate closes sharp at 5pm. They start announcing 15 min before closing down so you have to run back towards the parking. Start early in the morning if you want to enjoy the garden and visit on a cloudy day.

I always enjoy a regular visit to the Gardens. It is like an education in horticulture, the seasons and what planting styles work. Visited this week with a friend, we were discussing the dahlias when a gardener staff member joined our conversation. He was so knowledgeable and shared great growing tips and information. In the visitors centre, Donna was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us some great hints to maximise our time for a short walk. Free entry, you would be crazy to drive by without stopping by to at the very least enjoy the magnificent views!

Very nice and serene open botanical reservation space in the blue mountain area. Plenty of parking spot and entry is free. The viewing platform allows you to get panoramic view of the valleys. Clean restroom. Friendly and helpful staff.

This garden have lots of Australian native plants and flowers. Not much to see in the reception, but outside is great.to spent time with your loved one. It will take about 60 minutes to walk though, but it depends on how much you like to observe every beautiful creative design here. I would suggest the reception to put some investment into educational site of the place, such as more brochure to explain the native plants.
