Cozy cafe with great coffee and lovely staff that always makes it ridiculously hard to choose which amazing cake or tart to indulge in. Its a small place so be prepared to get a take-away at peak times. Do yourself a favour and grab a specialty loaf of bread before you leave. Life's too short to eat boring carbs.
No matter what occasion you are buying for they always have some kind of baked goods that will fit the bill! The beesting and the grainy loaf are my favourites!
Recent change of ownership has seen The Honey Thief extend their weekend opening ours to Sunday which was fortunate for us as we were in the neighbourhood and needed some bread for our at home brunch. Tasty seed loaf was still warm from the over so tortured us in our drive home from after a park walk. Quality has been maintained with the change of owners and we enjoyed our avocado, feta and tomatoes on their seed bread at home. We also grabbed a couple of their hot cross buns as a good measure for later this afternoon. Good to support local businesses in this tough time.
Small local bakery with an extensive range on authentic sourdough and some great pastries and sweets.
Service was very friendly and helpful, everything was reasonably priced.
The chocolate donut was amazing and aside from the sourdough, its the main reason I'd go back. It had a delicious crispy outer but very fluffy inside.
Overall great quality food and is a real cut above your usual local bakery, check it out if you're nearby.
Wowza! This bakery was pretty special. We had a variety of items to share and everything was delicious as well as generous in size. The bee sting was a stand out with its tasty glaze, fresh pieces of almonds and amazing custard. The lemon tart was extremely lemony and I was glad that they did not hold back on the zing. The brownie slice was another winner. This was full of chocolate flavours topped with a not too sweet chocolate icing. Special mentions for their vanilla slice and carrot cake (this was slightly dense but I like it this way).
If they can maintain their standards, The Honey Thief can steal all my money for all I care!
There coffee is to die for. Hmmm......yummmy :))
Beautiful quaint bakery cafe, love it here 🥰
Tried 2 different flavored croIssants (almond, pear+chocolate custard) and they were amazing 😋 I am a croissant lover and I can vouch that the croissants here are one of the best I have ever tasted. The filling and pastry ratio was perfect. The filling itself wasn’t too sweet or creamy, and the pastry was light, fluffy yet still flaky! Price is very reasonable too with then costing 5.50 each.
Also tried their escargot and yum! The pastry was swirled well and the coating was sweet yet not too heavy on the tastebuds.
Coffee here is good! Asked for a frothy soy latte and it was really really frothy, which as a barista before myself I can tell is hard to do with plant-based milks.
Bought a baguette loaf home because their bread just looked too good to pass!
One of the best bakeries in Melbourne in my opinion!
10/10 for both food and coffee and service here!
Will be back here often.
Nice little bakery. Staff are very friendly.
I always go there for their Belgium hot chocolate.
My favourite were their burnt butter cookies!
Please bring back the burnt butter cookies!!!
Fist time for us in this bakery.
Best danish in this area,we try 2 different Danish and 1 donuts, absolutely beautiful also the coffee was great.
The blonde girl with short hair was so nice, and super smiling. GREAT.
We also buy some bread, can’t wait to try it.
Come back soon.
Lovely local cafe. Great coffee, delicious pastries. We tried a sandwich off the menu and it was also very good. It is tiny inside and it can get packed but the staff are lovely and serve everyone as quickly as they can. Make sure you check this place out!!
Cute little cafe with a simple menu of toasties and pastries. Excellent coffee and especially love their olive bread! Surely will be back soon!
Great little local cafe. The bread and pastries are amazing, definitely worth a visit. Don’t do what I did, it’s closed Sunday and Mondays. Third time lucky 😝
The baguette, pie, vanilla slice and donut were all delicious! Don’t think you can go wrong here and really nice friendly service.
One of the best coffee places I have ever been. When i was living locally I would walk here every day and receive great coffee. I live an hour and a half and drive past it to get to work, continuing to support their business. Good coffee shops are hard to find, but recommend this experience. The food is pretty top notch too, but the best thing is the service, served with a smile
Open early. Great coffee.
Wide range of pastries, cakes, cookies, bread rolls and loaves. Some indoor seating with plenty more outside.
A perfect little bakery/cafe for bread lovers. I purchased a loaf of pumpkin sourdough, a fig, walnut and fennel seed baguette and an almond croissant to take away, they were moist, warm and soft on the inside. Not to mention it has a great display of their breads, just made me want to order everything.
Visited a number of years ago, was pleasantly impressed on the improvements made to the baked goods, esp. the bee sting and almond croissant. Very tasty and great mix of textures. The bagel was excellent too. Coffee is not bad and the staff are always superb.
One of the best cafe on Melbourne. If you living in Blackburn south you can be easily addicted to this little cafe. Highly recommended.
This small cafe has a huge range of food and baked goods as well as many varieties of sourdough loaves. Service with a smile!
