When I'm in the Blue Mountains I always like to get a pie at The Bakehouse on Wentworth. The best pies in The Blue Mountains. Thank goodness they have outlets in Leura, Springwood and Glenbrook. This is where the production kitchen is situated and this unassuming little bakery pumps out not only amazing gourmet pies but artisan breads and all sorts of cakes, slices and muffins too. The only thing about this place is it is super busy not all flavours can be available hot. You can buy them cold and take them home. Also seating is limited, so be prepared. 4.5/5
Excellent homemade pies , quick and very good service!! When ordering you have the choice between a lot of different foods, like pizza, pies, danish pastries A shadowy and quiet area to have lunch ! A very pleasant place!!

Just around the corner from the main street, this unassuming cafe/bakery was super busy! There waa a huge selection of pies, sausage rolls, sweets & bread. The pies were big & filles generously with selected filling. The hit was steak & guiness & lamb & rosemary. Loved the gluten free chocolate cake & pear frangipane tart which had a really nice short, buttery base. The choc chip oat cookies were so sweet but addictive, perfect with a coffee or tea. Service was fast & friendly and was a great little place to stop.
There were two bakeries in the Blue Mountains that I came across in my research - Hominy in Katoomba for sourdough and Bakehouse On Wentworth because it was meant to be good and happened to be conveniently located close to the accommodation in Blackheath. The Bakehouse was the first food stop of the trip after arriving and it didn't disappoint. The pies have a nice thick crust with rolled up sides that were a pleasure to chew through last. The kangaroo filling was slightly gamey and quite nice. Next time I'd probably try something more standard like the beef and guinness. The mini sausage roll was a nice filler to complement the pie.

My go to place when ever I visit the mountains, by far some of the best pies served in Australia.
Better still their good homely cakes are just fabulous without being to over the top
After accidentally stumbling across the place on a way to a camping trip up near the mountains, all I can say is wow. The pies here are incredible. Pastry is puffy, flaky, crumbly and delicious and the filling was generous on the meet and so ridiculously flavoursome. I had the kangaroo pie which was just great.
On your way up to Blue Mountains? Put Blackheath on your itinerary just so you can have a quick stopover here.
Been twice in last week - great service - best pies in the planet - end of story
